Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis Discovery Learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Talamau Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yang dimodifikasi menjadi 3D yaitu define, design, dan develop. Pada tahap define dilakukan analisis kebutuhan, analisis siswa, analisis materi, dan analisis kurikulum. Pada tahap design dilakukan pemilihan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan, menentukan format LKS berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan. Kemudian dilakukan tahap develop, pada tahap ini dilakukan ujicoba produk yaitu pada 3 orang siswa untuk evaluasi perorangan, 8 orang siswa untuk evaluasi kelompok kecil, dan 30 orang siswa untuk uji lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis Discovery Learning yang dikembangkan telah valid dengan nilai rata-rata 80,40% berada pada kategori valid. Nilai praktikalitas LKS yang diperoleh dari angket respon siswa dan guru dengan nilai rata-rata 87,5% dan 87,891% pada kategori sangat praktis. Nilai efektifitas siswa diperoleh dari hasil ujian akhir bab (post-test) dengan nilai rata-rata 81,832% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis Discovery Learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Talamau Kabupaten Pasaman Barat yang dihasilkan sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika sehingga kemampuan ini sangat diharapkan dapat berkembang dan mengalami peningkatan.Namun, diperoleh fakta bahwa kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Talamau masih rendah. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyebabnya adalah model pembelajaran yang digunakan belum mampu mengaktifkan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga proses pembelajaran tersebut belum bisa mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang dimilikisiswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang bisa mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Talk Write (TTW).Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan komunikas matematis siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Talk Write (TTW) lebih baik daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas kontrol.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan Randomized Subjects Posttest Only Control Group Design.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Talamau.Sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VIII.1 dan VIII.2 SMPN 3 Talamau.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Talk Write (TTW) lebih baik daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

The research aims to determine whether students' mathematical problem-solving skills using the guided inquiry learning model are better than students with conventional learning in seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Baso. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with a randomized control group only design. The research population was seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Baso which were divided into seven classes with 138 students. The sample in this study were 20 students in class VII1 as an experimental class and 20 students in class VII2 as a control class taken through simple random sampling. The research instrument was the final test in the form of essay questions related to mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of the final test will be used to test the hypothesis with the t-test with a = 0.05 and dk = 36. The analysis shows that the average problem-solving ability score in the experimental class is higher when compared to the control class. Based on the t test, it was found that students' mathematical problem solving abilities with inquiry learning models were better than students with conventional learning models.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is one of the objectives of learning mathematics so that this ability is expected to develop and improve. However, it was obtained that the understanding of mathematical concepts of grade X MIPA students was still low. The Student Facilitator And Explaining teaching model is expected to facilitate students in increasing their understanding of mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn with the Student Facilitator And Explaining learning model is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn using conventional learning. The experimental research design used was Randomized Control Group Only Design. Sampling is done by Simple Random Sampling technique. The test conducted in this study is the t test, with the final conclusion obtained that the understanding of students' mathematical concepts using the Student Facilitator And Explaining Cooperative Learning Model is better than students' understanding of mathematical concepts using Conventional Learning.

Abstract

This comprehensive literature review investigates the critical importance of integrating mathematical literacy into the primary education curriculum. Mathematical literacy, a holistic concept that involves the complete understanding, practical application, and thoughtful analysis of mathematical information across diverse contexts, is a transformative force in molding the foundational skills of young learners. This review extensively explores the myriad benefits arising from the intentional inclusion of mathematical literacy, emphasizing its pivotal role in fostering logical thinking, aligning with the demands of 21st-century skills, and augmenting global competitiveness among learners. Despite acknowledged challenges in implementation, the long-term advantages for individual students and society are resoundingly underscored, positioning mathematical literacy not only as a pedagogical necessity but as a strategic investment in the future of education and national progress. Furthermore, this literature review goes beyond surveying existing research and academic journals; it represents a nuanced synthesis of diverse perspectives and findings. Drawing insights from pertinent publications delves into the practical implications and real-world applications of integrating mathematical literacy. The review is valuable for educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers, offering actionable insights to inform decision-making processes. Through meticulously examining the literature, this review advocates for acknowledging mathematical literacy and its intentional and meaningful incorporation into primary education curricula. Abstract

Learning resource is a material that can be utilized in support of teachers in the learning process, either directly or indirectly to improve the learning objectives. Learning resources that are usually used for teachers in the school including the Student Worksheet. The purpose of this peneltian is making mathematical constructivism-based learning device which features a mind folder on the material of the triangle and quadrilateral which is valid and practical. This research is research development by using the 4-D model of development which consists of define, design, develop, disseminate. In this phase, the needs analysis conducted define the analysis of curriculum, learner analysis, and analysis of materials-related problems in learning mathematics. On the design phase carried out the design of Constructivism-based student work sheet that comes mind folder on the triangular and quadrilateral meteri, then conducted a validation by experts. Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes obtained by students of SMP 1 in the Coastal Zone are still low. This happens because the learning process is still teacher-centered. In addition, the lack of mastery of prerequisite material is also one of the obstacles that influence the low student learning outcomes. One effort that can be done to overcome is to use the Think Pair Share learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of Think Pair Share learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The study was conducted in two classes grouped as experimental class and control class. The learning experimental class is done using the Think Pair Share learning model, while the Control learning class is done using the Conventional Model. The research data was obtained from the results of learning tests which data analysis was carried out using the t test. The results of data analysis show that students' mathematical problem solving abilities using learning Think Pair Share learning models are better than students who learn using conventional models

Abstract

This research is distributed-because there is some mathematical learning objectives have not been achieved one of mathematical communication ability. One of the factors the lack of mathematical communication skills, students are just listening to the teacher's explanation, then record and finish the matter practice. This, resulting in students ' knowledge and understanding of the information provided is limited to the teacher. An effort to do that is by applying Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). The purpose of this research is to find out whether the mathematical communication skills of students by using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) better than mathematical communication skills of students by using conventional learning class XI IPS MAN 4 West Pasaman Barat. This type of research was quasi Experimental research. Sampling is done using Random Sampling techniques so that selected as experimental class is grade XI IPS 1 and as the control class is the grade XI IPS 2. Data analysis was performed using t-test with α = 0.05 level obtained thitung= and ttabel = 1,669 so > This berarti deny thus, it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students by using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) better than mathematical communication skills of students using learning conventional in class XI IPS MAN 4 West Pasaman Barat

Abstract

This study originated from the problem of low communication skills of students in SMPN 2 Talamau. This is caused partly because the learning is still centered on the teacher. To overcome these problems used cooperative learning model STAD through techniques Quick On The Draw. This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning STAD type through techniques Quick On The Draw the students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is a Quasi Exsperiment. Sample selection is done by random sampling so chosen as an experimental class is the class VII1 and as the control class is the class VII2. The research instrument was the test the ability of the initial and final test in the form of a matter of mathematical communication skills. Data analysis was performed using the t test and ANOVA two-way interaction. The analysis showed that: the ability of mathematical communication students taught by cooperative learning model STAD through techniques Quick On The Draw better than students taught by conventional learning, communication skills mathematically capable students beginning high and low taught by cooperative learning model STAD through techniques Quick on the Draw better than students taught by conventional learning and there is no interaction between the learning model and the initial capabilities of the students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the students' mathematical reasoning abilities after being given treatment metacognitive learning strategies. The research is a pre-experimental study design Randomized Control Group Only Design. Sampling was conducted using random sampling techniques so chosen as an experimental class is a class XI IPS 2 and a control class is the class XI IPS 1. The research instrument is a student activity observation sheet and test students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Data analysis was performed using the t test with significance level α = 0.05. Based on t test was done, obtained t = 1.9155 and table = 1.69 it is seen that thitung> ttabel means to reject H0 and accept H1. So it can be concluded that the mathematical reasoning skills students learn better metacognitive learning strategies than students who studied with conventional strategies in class XI IPS SMAN 1 Talamau West Pasaman academic year 2016/2017
