Abstract

The rapid development of technology in music education requires music educators to be creative and critical in developing technology-based learning tools. This ensures that learning aligns with current trends and is implemented more effectively. In addition to enhancing learning, technology also addresses challenges faced by music composers. This study focuses on creating a Virtual Studio Technology Instrument (VSTi) for the keroncong guitar as a teaching aid. In keroncong music, the guitar plays a key role in improvising chord progressions, demanding specialized skills from musicians and composers. Using a practice-oriented approach, this study covers the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of developing a VSTi for the Keroncong guitar. The results show that the VSTi operates effectively in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), serving as a valuable learning tool and reference for keroncong guitar patterns. The assessment demonstrated significant improvements in sound quality and user satisfaction, with 90% of users approving. Integration with other instruments showed a 25% average improvement, while flexibility and ease of improvisation received positive feedback from 80% and 75% of users. To conclude, the prototype of the Keroncong Guitar VSTi can catalyze educational innovation.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan metode pembelajaran violin yang lebih fleksibel dan interaktif di era digital, menjadi akar permasalahan dalam penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menelaah literatur terkait dampak penggunaan video tutorial terhadap keterampilan musik siswa serta mengidentifikasi tantangan dan kelebihan yang terkait. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif, di mana peneliti mengumpulkan dan menganalisis sumber-sumber literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video tutorial secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan teknis siswa, memberikan aksesibilitas yang lebih baik, dan memungkinkan pembelajaran mandiri. Video tutorial juga membantu siswa memahami teknik dengan lebih baik melalui demonstrasi visual. Namun, tantangan terkait kualitas dan kredibilitas sumber video teridentifikasi, yang dapat memengaruhi efektivitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi video tutorial dalam kurikulum pendidikan musik dan perlunya pelatihan bagi pengajar untuk memaksimalkan potensi video tutorial sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran yang efektif, menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang menarik dan bermanfaat bagi siswa.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to develop a music learning application specifically designed for early childhood, utilizing smartphone technology in an educational context. The need for innovative and engaging learning methods is becoming increasingly important, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic has driven digital transformation in education. Methods: This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a Design and Development Research approach. The main focus is on developing an app that educates children about the basics of music, including music notation, pulse, tempo, and note values. The app is designed to make it easier for teachers to deliver music learning materials and provide parents with educational tools to teach music to children at home. Results and Discussion: In its development, this application uses visual and audio elements, such as bright colors, images, voice over narration, and animation, to attract and maintain children's focus. Considering the limitations of teachers in using learning media and the prevalence of gadget use by children, this application is expected to be a more interactive and fun learning resource. Conclusion: This research contributes to the development of music learning media in early childhood and kindergarten schools, as well as being an alternative educational resource for parents in educating their children about music at home, particularly through the positive and educational use of gadgets.

Abstract

Pendidikan musik untuk anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus memerlukan persiapan khusus, metode pengajaran yang adaptif, dan pengembangan profesional yang berkelanjutan. Studi ini mengeksplorasi pentingnya persiapan yang disesuaikan, strategi pengajaran efektif, dan pelatihan yang berkelanjutan bagi pendidik musik. Latar belakang menekankan kebutuhan yang beragam dari anak-anak ini, mulai dari tantangan kognitif hingga emosional, yang menuntut pemahaman yang mendalam dan pendekatan individual dalam pengajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menyelidiki metode dan strategi yang meningkatkan inklusivitas dan efektivitas pendidikan musik. Temuan menyoroti pentingnya pendekatan personalisasi, integrasi teknologi, kolaborasi dengan spesialis, dan teknik pengajaran multisensoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyesuaian metode pengajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan individu dan menciptakan lingkungan belajar inklusif secara signifikan mempengaruhi hasil belajar. Pembahasan mengeksplorasi implikasi dari temuan ini, mendorong untuk program pelatihan yang komprehensif, workshop, dan mentorship guna mempersiapkan pendidik dengan keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang diperlukan. Kesimpulan menggarisbawahi peran kritis persiapan khusus, strategi pengajaran adaptif, dan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan dalam mempromosikan pendidikan musik inklusif bagi anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus, dengan tujuan meningkatkan hasil pendidikan dan kualitas hidup secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Profesi mengajar sering kali tidak mendapatkan pengakuan dan penghargaan yang layak Artikel ini menginvestigasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi terhadap profesi mengajar di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada persyaratan pendidikan, tingkat gaji, otonomi profesional, dan pandangan tradisional tentang pendidikan. Metode penelitian menggunakan tinjauan literatur untuk mengumpulkan informasi dari berbagai sumber yang relevan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa persyaratan pendidikan dan sertifikasi guru bervariasi, dengan implemen-tasi yang tidak konsisten di seluruh negeri. Tingkat gaji guru masih tergolong rendah, sementara otonomi profesional mereka dalam pengajaran sering kali terbatas. Pandangan tradisional tentang pendidikan sering kali menganggap guru sebagai penjaga nilai-nilai moral, yang dapat mengurangi pengakuan terhadap profesionalisme mereka. Implikasi dari temuan ini menyoroti perlunya tindakan untuk meningkatkan status profesional guru di Indonesia, termasuk peningkatan gaji, pemberian otonomi yang lebih besar, dan edukasi masyarakat tentang peran penting guru dalam pembangunan bangsa. Dengan menerapkan rekomendasi yang diajukan, diharapkan dapat tercapai perbaikan dalam kualitas pendidikan dan pembangunan sumber daya manusia di Indonesia. In what ways is teaching not fully considered a profession? Abstract: This article investigates the factors that influence perceptions of the teaching profession in Indonesia, focusing on educational requirements, salary levels, professional autonomy, and traditional views of education. The research method uses a literature review to gather information from various relevant sources. Findings show that teacher education and certification requirements vary, with inconsistent implementation across the country. Teachers' salary levels remain low, while their professional autonomy in teaching is often limited. Traditional views of education often regard teachers as guardians of moral values, which can reduce recognition of their professionalism. The implications of these findings highlight the need for action to improve the professional status of teachers in Indonesia, including increased salaries, greater autonomy, and public education about the important role teachers play in nation-building. By implementing the proposed recommendations, it is hoped that improvements in the quality of education and human resource development in Indonesia can be achieved.

Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa, terutama dalam bidang Pendidikan Musik, di mana kemampuan untuk menyusun karya tulis ilmiah yang baik sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan akademik dan profesional. Namun, banyak mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan dalam penulisan, termasuk kesulitan dalam merumuskan ide, memahami struktur penulisan, dan mengelola waktu yang terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karya tulis ilmiah mahasiswa Pendidikan Musik melalui pendekatan penelitian tindakan yang terstruktur. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan tiga tahap: pra-tindakan, tindakan, dan pasca-tindakan, dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei, workshop, dan sesi umpan balik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat peningkatan dalam penguasaan materi dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa, keterampilan menulis dan proses penulisan masih berada pada kategori yang kurang memuaskan. Hal ini menandakan perlunya lebih banyak sesi praktik dan dukungan berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting tentang kondisi keterampilan menulis mahasiswa Pendidikan Musik dan menawarkan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih efektif. Dengan demikian, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tuntutan akademik dan profesional di masa depan. Improving Academic Writing Skills of Music Education Students: An Action Research in Bandung City Writing skills are an essential competency that students must possess, especially in the field of Music Education, where the ability to compose a well-structured scientific paper significantly impacts academic and professional success. However, many students face challenges in writing, including difficulties in formulating ideas, understanding writing structure, and managing limited time. This study aims to enhance the writing skills of Music Education students through a structured action research approach. The research method involves three stages: pre-action, action, and post-action, with data collection through surveys, workshops, and feedback sessions. The results indicate that although there is an improvement in students' mastery of the material and their confidence, writing skills and the writing process still remain in the unsatisfactory category. This suggests the need for more practice sessions and ongoing support to address the challenges faced by students. This research provides important insights into the writing skill conditions of Music Education students and offers recommendations for more effective curriculum development. Thus, it is hoped that this study can contribute to improving the quality of education and the readiness of students to meet academic and professional demands in the future.

Abstract

This study investigates the configuration and functional capabilities of the Quick Sampler feature within Logic Pro X, focusing on its application in audio sample processing for music composition. Utilizing a qualitative content analysis approach based on Krippendorff’s methodology, the research systematically examines key components of Quick Sampler, including Synth Mode, Mod Matrix, and Mapping Section, to evaluate their roles in enhancing workflow efficiency and creative flexibility. Data were gathered from direct interface analysis, supported by documentation and user experience reports. The findings reveal that Quick Sampler’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface, combined with flexible sample modes, simplifies the sampling process, while the Mod Matrix facilitates complex modulation routing that expands sound design possibilities. Although the study is descriptive and qualitative, it highlights Quick Sampler’s potential to streamline compositional processes within digital audio workstations. Future research is recommended to quantitatively measure user efficiency and to compare Quick Sampler’s performance with other DAWs, as well as to explore its optimization for specific music genres.
