Abstract

Processed beef meatballs are widely consumed food products whose quality is largely determined by their sensory attributes. This study aims to analyze the organoleptic quality of beef meatball products at Bakso Roso Restaurant in Gorontalo Regency, focusing on appearance, aroma, taste, and texture. This research addresses a gap in previous studies, which typically rely on conventional sensory tests without applying a structured prioritization method. The study site was purposively selected based on branch availability, accessibility, modern facilities, and certified operations. Primary and secondary data were analyzed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the relative weight of each criterion. The results show that taste is the most influential attribute (0.402), followed by aroma (0.294), texture (0.203), and appearance (0.100), with an inconsistency value of 0.02 indicating reliable judgments. Among product alternatives, Bakso Tenis ranks highest (40.2%), followed by Bakso Urat (29.4%). These findings highlight the dominant role of taste and aroma in shaping consumer preferences and provide a structured basis for product development through AHP-based organoleptic prioritization.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the characteristics of livestock breeders in the Artificial Insemination Technology Service Program in Pohuwato Regency. This study used a survey method with primary data collection through interviews and questionnaires with livestock respondents. Secondary data were obtained from relevant agencies. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that 56.7% of livestock farmers receiving Artificial Insemination Program services in Pohuwato Regency were in the productive age range of 41-60 years. Most, or 64.45% of livestock farmers only had an elementary school education or equivalent and had more than 10 years of livestock farming experience. Farmers owned between 1-3 beef cattle (46.67%). The scale of livestock ownership was relatively small and only a side business so it was included in the category of smallholder livestock. Farmers who had received and adopted artificial insemination technology for more than 9 years were 51.11%. The majority of farmers were considered to have had sufficient adoption experience so that supporting the success of artificial insemination services depended not only on semen quality and inseminator skills, but also on the farmer's experience in reproductive management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategic environmental factors and formulate a marketing distribution strategy for beef cattle through the Sea Toll Road in North Gorontalo Regency. The research method used is a survey method. Primary data were collected through interviews and questionnaires to respondents from technical agencies, academics, professional associations, and beef cattle marketing distribution business actors. Secondary data were obtained from agencies related to beef cattle marketing distribution. Data were processed and analyzed using a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). The results show that the role of the Sea Toll Road as a marketing distribution channel is increasingly stable in meeting the demand for beef cattle in Kalimantan. Internal Factor Scores (IFAS = 3.21) and External (EFAS = 2.99) are positive, supported by the supply of beef cattle, policy support, and the homebase of the livestock transport ship KM Camara Nusantara 5. The diagram of the position of beef cattle marketing distribution through the Sea Toll Road in North Gorontalo Regency is in Quadrant I which supports an Aggressive Strategy. The optimal strategy formulation that can be implemented is an Aggressive Strategy, namely using all strengths to take advantage of all existing opportunities.

Abstract

The success of beef cattle farming is closely related to the characteristics of farmers, as good character makes it easier for farmers to solve problems related to beef cattle breeding competencies. The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of farmers, beef cattle cultivation competence and the influence of farmer characteristics on beef cattle cultivation competence. The research was carried out in Suwawa District, Bone Bolango Regency. The research method used is the survey method The sample determination was carried out by purposive sampling, the number of samples was 54 people spread across 11 villages that are members of the livestock group. The analysis used was a quantitative descriptive analysis, namely to describe the characteristics of farmers and the level of competence of beef cattle cultivation and multiple regression analysis to test the influence of characteristics including age, education, experience and livestock ownership, on beef cattle cultivation competence. The results of the study show that the characteristics of farmers have an average age of 51 years which is classified as productive, the average elementary education is 44.4%, the average livestock business experience is 21 years, the average livestock ownership is 4 heads,. The level of competence of cattle farmers in the aspect of seeds has a score of 144, feed 157 cages, 146 reproduction, and 159 diseases. All aspects are in the good category with an average score of 155. at intervals of 135-175.5 . Variables of education and experience have a positive and significant effect on the competence of beef cattle cultivation, age has a positive but not significant relationship, livestock ownership has a negative and insignificant relationship. Overall, the influence of farmer characteristics on beef cattle cultivation contributed 38%.

Abstract

Abstract

Sorghum straw is a by-product of the sorghum plant that contains lignocellulosic fibers, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, which play an important role in its use as animal feed. The fiber content of straw is influenced by genetic factors of the variety and the application of biofertilizers, including Biosaka made from legume plants. This study aims to evaluate the cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin content of straw of two sorghum varieties (Numbu and Kawali) by administering three types of biosaka (Gamal leaves, Moringa leaves, and Indigofera leaves). The study used a 2 × 3 factorial randomized block design (RBD) with three replications, resulting in 18 experimental plots. The treatments consisted of Numbu (V1) and Kawali (V2) varieties, as well as biosaka Gamal leaves (B1), Moringa leaves (B2), and Indigofera leaves (B3). Data were analyzed using ANOVA and if there were significant differences, continued with the LSD test at the 5% level. The results showed that sorghum varieties significantly affected the cellulose content of straw (P<0.05), where the Kawali variety had higher cellulose than the Numbu variety. Biosaka treatment and variety × Biosaka interaction did not significantly affect the cellulose, hemicellulose, or lignin content (P>0.05). However, the combination of the Kawali variety with Gamal leaf Biosaka (V2B1) produced the highest cellulose content significantly. It can be concluded that the variety factor plays a greater role in determining the lignocellulose content of sorghum straw than the type of Biosaka given.
