Abstract

Critical thinking skills are very important for students in the 21st century. The development of HOTS-based cognitive assessment instruments aims to produce assessment instruments that are valid, practical, and effective evaluation tools. This development research modified Thiagarajan's 4-D model with stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. After revision and approval by experts, the instrument design draft was analyzed. After that, a limited test was carried out on a total of 34 students in class XI Science 1 at SMA Negeri 9 Pangkep. Tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations were the methods used in data collection. The research results showed that: (1) the validity of the HOTS-based cognitive assessment instrument was in the very valid category with a score of 93.33% from the media aspect and 92% from the material aspect; (2) the assessment instrument developed was in the very practical category which was obtained from the results of student responses with a percentage of 82.35% and teacher responses with a percentage of 88%; and (3) the effectiveness of the instrument was in the effective category obtained from test data on student learning outcomes of 73.52% in the effective category, and students' critical thinking abilities were on average in the good category. Based on the results obtained, a conclusion was drawn that the HOTS-based cognitive assessment instrument meets the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim in conducting this research is to analyze the effectiveness and practicality of using constructivist LKPD assisted by Flipcreator, which has previously been developed and found the valid criteria. The research method referred to the RD development model, namely ADDIE: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 24 students and 1 biology subject teacher. The instruments used are student evaluation sheets to see the effectiveness of data, students' and teacher' response questionnaire sheets, and learning implementation observation sheets to see practicality data. From the data analysis, the following results were obtained: (1) The effectiveness test showed that the constructivist LKPD assisted by Flipcreator was effectively used in the learning process, with 91.67% of students' learning completeness being fulfilled; (2) in the practicality test, a positive response was obtained from teachers and students of 100%, which was in the very strong category, as well as the results of observations of learning implementation, which showed that all aspects observed in the learning process were fully implemented with a total mean of 1.52. These results showed that the constructivist LKPD assisted by Flipcreator is effective and practical to use in the classroom learning process. Keywords:  student’s worksheet, constructivism, flipcreator

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the practicality and effectiveness of the local potential-based Biology module that has been previously developed by researchers through research and development (RD).  This study uses a one-shot case study design as a pre-experiment. Product trials were conducted in one class selected by purposive sampling with 28 participants.  The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire sheet for the responses of educators and students to measure the practicality of the module. learning outcomes test instrument was also used to measure the module's effectiveness. The analysis's findings educator's response obtained a percentage value of 100% and 92% for the response of students. At the same time, students' learning outcomes reached an average of 89.8.  These findings provide a conclusion that the biology module based on local potential is practical to use and can effectively improve student learning outcomes.
