Abstract

Library as a centre for information resources is the backbone of the progress of an educational institution. Imbalance between the use of information retrieval system facilities advance search and a quick search of the catalogue are very  common in a search. This study was aimed to know and to describe how the precision of information retrieval system by using title field and subject on OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) ) at Muhammaddiyah University Library of Bengkulu is effective as an information retrieval system. This study was a quantitative descriptive study using analytical methods. The technique of data collection in  this study was by using trace observation on the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). The study was carried out by using the title of the names of study programs and the subject to study program as the study sample a mounted to 206. Sample were taken by using purposive sampling techniques. The result of the study showed that search using advanced search features by using the section title of sociology subject obtained a precision marks of 0,98 while the use of advanced search features by using biology education subject obtainrd precision mark of 0,66. The use of quick search feature by using the sociology subjects get a precision marks of 0,98 while the use of quick search feature by using biology education subject obtained a precision marks of 0,99. The testing on the four search shows that the quick search and advanced search features in the title and subject are in the average range of 0,90 so it is said that the search system of OPAC at Muhammadiyah University Library of Bengkulu is effective as an information retrieval system.

Abstract

Berkembangnya teknologi informasi dapat merubah sistem pengelolaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan aplikasi SIPANSE dalam pengelolaan arsip di DPMPTSP Provinsi Bengkulu, dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) data infrastruktur dalam proses pengelolaan arsip hanya sebatas pengecekan data. 2) Infrastruktur legal yang ada di dinas menggunakan peraturan Gubernur Bengkulu. 3) Infrastruktur institusional yang dilakukan dengan koordinasi dari pihak luar seperti BSSN dan BSN. 4) Infrastruktur manusia yang bekerja dengan aplikasi terdiri dari 3 orang Fornt Offices, 12 orang Back Offices, 6 orang Kepala Seksi, 1 Kepala Bidang, 1 Arsiparis. 5) Infrastruktur teknologi terdiri dari gedung, perangkat komputer, jaringan internet, server. 6) Strategi pemikiran pemimpin yang dilakukan dengan mengoptimalkan agar aplikasi tersebut dapat berjalan

Abstract

Viewers can watch videos produced by media actors on YouTube, a well-known video-sharing platform. It requires searching methods because the volume of content is likewise growing. This study aimed to learn how Udayana University students could retrieve information via YouTube. A quantitative approach through a survey is the research method used. The study's object and population comprised 100 (one hundred) students from 13 (thirteen) distinct departments at Udayana University. Based on the study's results, most students access YouTube for entertainment. Students of Udayana University frequently watch YouTube videos. YouTube information search method does a decent job of choosing videos relevant to video recommendations (79%) but does an inadequate job of using the watch later function (55%).

Abstract

The low condition of community literacy is characterized by the lack of book reading activities compared to other activities, the inadequate allocation of time to reading books, the small number of book collections, the lack of allocation of funds to buy books, and low visits to libraries and bookstores. The role of village libraries is necessary for supporting the improvement of community literacy culture, especially in areas with limited access to information sources. Village libraries also have an essential role in efforts to alleviate illiteracy, especially in rural communities. This service activity aims to optimize village libraries' management in Penembang Village, Bengkulu Tengah, and provide training to village library managers on effective village library management according to village library management standards. The method of implementing this activity includes procuring library material collections, providing reading facilities, and conducting training on village library management. The result of this activity is the availability of library collections, room design, and library management training. In improving village library services, the service team participated in adding a collection of books.

Abstract

This study aims to design an electric bell and determine the kinesthetic improvement ability of visually impaired people after using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) listicv bell as an information guide. When a visitor wants to know the braille book, title, location, and classification of Dewey (DDC) then it is necessary to press the DDC bell and it will ring. People with visually impaired disabilities were the subjects of this study, and ten people as the object. Data collection using Tests, interviews, and documentation  is used to collect data. The method used quantitative experiments. In addition, descriptive analysis showed that the average pre-test score was 25.87 and the average post-test score was 21.05. so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The results of the study stated that the use of the Dewey electric bell (DDC) by the Bengkulu Provincial Library and Archives Service affected the kinesthetic ability of movement, visual and  motor  recognition of book classifications for the visually impaired.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu kelompok masyarakat dalam mendapatkan sumber informasi, mendukung program pemberantasan buta huruf (PBH), mencerdaskan kehidupan masyarakat dan sebagai tempat aktifitas atau rekreasi favorit masyarakat di Desa Tanjung Terdana Kecamatan Pondok Kubang Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Pendirian Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) ini sebagai upaya memupuk rasa cinta pustaka, kesadaran dan kebiasaan membaca referensi masrarakat Desa Tanjung Terdana serta sebagai dukungan proses edukasi yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar warga masyarakat. Metode pelaksaaan pengabdian ini melalui beberapa tahapan mulai dari observasi, analisis, pemecahan masalah, perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengimplementasian, evaluasi dan pengawasan. Hasil pengabdian yaitu tim berhasil mendirkan dan meresmikan TBM dengan nama TBM Cerdas. Adapun jumlah koleksi bahan bacaan yaitu sebanyak 335 eksemplar judul buku. Tim pengabdian juga memberikan saran dan prasarana penunjang TBM seperti rak buku, alat tulis, meja, kartpet dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Aksesibilitas bagi anak tunagrahita merupakan hal penting ketika melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Penyediaan aksesibilitas fisik dan non fisik yang aksesibel akan memudahkan anak tunagrahita untuk melakukan aktivitas secara mandiri. Sekolah Luar Biasa menjadi lembaga pendidikan khusus bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus seperti anak tunagrahita. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aksesibilitas anak tunagrahita di SLB Negeri 01 Bengkulu Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan memilih informan secara purposive sebanyak 10 informan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aksesibilitas anak tunagrahita di SLB Negeri 01 Bengkulu Selatan sudah baik jika dilihat dari aksesibilitas fisik (sarana dan prasarana). Sementara aksesibilitas non fisik (informasi, komunikasi, dan teknologi) masih sulit diakses anak tunagrahita walaupun sekolah telah menyediakan group whatsaap, website, Instagram, facebook, dan memodifikasi proses penyampaikan materi dengan menggunakan teknologi. Aksesibilitas tersebut dilihat dari 4 asas, yaitu asas kemudahan, kegunaan, kemandirian, dan keselamatan.

Abstract

The Role of the Balai Buntar Village Library, Central Bengkulu in Developing Information Literacy in the Pondok Kelapa Community. Using qualitative methodology, this research examines the important impact of the Village Library's role in collecting data through observation, document analysis and interviews. The findings of this research highlight the efforts made by libraries to provide information accessibility, implement information literacy programs, empower the community, utilize technology, collaborate and build community creativity, as well as monitor and evaluate library operations. These results provide a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and role of the Village Library for the Pondok Kelapa Community as a center for community information literacy and also know that programs such as training, interest in reading, and collaboration/cooperation carried out with educational institutions are the key to success in improving information literacy skills.

Abstract

The development of village libraries has had its ups and downs. In this case, Balai Buntar Library, Pondok Kelapa Village, Central Bengkulu, also faced similar problems in its development. The village government has an important role in library development. The purpose of this research is to find out how the role of the village government in the development of Balai Buntar Library to increase the visiting interest of the people of Pondok Kelapa village, Central Bengkulu. This research uses a qualitative approach method on case studies. Data collection techniques used includes observation, interviews, documentation and triangulation. The results of this study indicate that of the six research indicators, namely socialization and promotion of programs, development of facilities and infrastructure, improvement of resources, community involvement, cooperation, and appreciation, as an effort that library staff make in terms of library development to increase community interest in visiting the library has been running and is fully supported by the village government but not maximally. So that the existence of Balai Buntar Library has not been fully felt by the surrounding community considering the number of visitors continues to decline from previous years.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sistem pengembangan sumber daya manusia di Perpustakaan Diplomasi serta menganalisis pengembangan sumber daya manusia di Perpustakaan Diplomasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara bersama informan secara mendalam, serta triangulasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepala Bidang Perencanaan, Pengembangan dan Evaluasi (PPE) dan 3 orang pegawai Perpustakaan Diplomasi yang telah mengikuti program pengembangan sumber daya manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode pengembangan yang dilakukan oleh pegawai Perpustakaan Diplomasi menggunakan metode off the job training dengan cara mengikuti seminar, talkshow, workshop, Diklat yang diselenggarakan oleh Perpusnas, serta kaji banding ke perpustakaan dalam negeri dan luar negeri. Hasil dari pengembangan sumber daya manusia di Perpustakaan Diplomasi dapat dikatakan cukup baik karena telah memenuhi 5 dari 10 indikator keberhasilan pengembangan sumber daya manusia, yaitu meningkatnya prestasi pegawai, menurunnya tingkat pemborosan bahan baku, tenaga dan waktu, meningkatnya kerjasama karyawan, meningkatnya prakarsa karyawan dan pengambilan keputusan manajer yang semakin baik
