Abstract

Environmental issues have become one of the global problems with a high degree of urgency. The province of Bali is one of the absolute highlights with evidence of a poor water quality index. In studying international relations, global problems can be solved through diplomatic instruments by interested countries. Uniquely, footage of phenomena in the field shows that there are non-governmental actors, namely business people, trying to solve environmental problems to lead to world peace. This study aims to examine 4Ocean's efforts to mitigate plastic waste in the waters of Bali. The author uses business track diplomacy to analyze the actions of 4Ocean. As a result, several measures have realized 4Ocean's efforts to carry out business line diplomacy in mitigating plastic pollution in Bali's waters. First, 4Ocean has sought to implement a sound business model by turning profits into reforestation operations. Second, 4Ocean has carried out plastic pollution operations in Bali as a whole, including river, coastal, and ocean operations. Third, 4Ocean has attempted to validate environmentally friendly products with B Corp, GOTS, and Green Circle Certified certifications.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThailand is a country known for its political instability. As such, Thai students are arguably one of the most influential groups in Thai politics. Since the Siamese Revolution of 1932, Thailand has faced 19 coups and 20 constitutional changes. The country is caught in a vicious cycle of coups and revolutions, with its political institutions facing reform from a wave of democratization and military takeovers. By using qualitative methods and using the Social Movement concept, this article discusses the pattern of the Thai Protest 2020 movement which is a social movement by students, activists, and students in Thailand who demand monarchical reform and resistance to military domination. The results show that Thai Protest 2020 has not succeeded in bringing about change in Thailand due to the lack of strategy and tactics due to the absence of a clear bureaucratic system during the movement. Abstract

Using a foreign policy analysis (FPA) approach, this paper describes the two main factors behind Japan's cooperation in the Jakarta-Surabaya higher-speed rail project through the Summary Record On The Java North Line Upgrading Project with Indonesia. First, the domestic factor, where Japan experienced stagnation in economic growth. Second, external factors related to the international system. Namely, Indonesia's economic and political potential in the Southeast Asian region as well as China's influence in Indonesia. As a result of this paper, Japan's high-speed rail technology exports to Indonesia are part of Japan's economic growth strategy. The Jakarta-Surabaya higher-speed rail project is an important part for Japan to affirm its commitment to Indonesia and balance China's influence in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
