Abstract

Oyster mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus, are a type of edible wood mushroom. MSME Sidimpuan Hiratake Mushroom have customer, a family restauran. In order to meet consumer demand with quality and quantity requirements, MSME had issues such as inability to fulfill demand due to insufficient production capacity, and occurrence of returns, where both of these continue to increase. Purpose of this study is to explain the process of supply chain, to find out the actual performance, and to provide some suggestions for improvements to the performance of supply chain. The process flows analyzed in this supply chain are product, information and financial. The product produced by partner farmers is fresh oyster mushrooms, the products that will be sent to restaurant are oyster mushrooms that have been weighed, cleaned and packaged. This research method is qualitative and quantitative. The results of analysis with food supply chain network show that the process flow in the supply chain has been going well. The operational performance measurement results were measured using several supply chain operation reference metrics, that the operational performance of the supply chain cannot be said to be perfect overall. To measure marketing performance, the farmer's share value obtained by partner farmers is 58.3% and the marketing margin for MSME is Rp.5.000. The results of 5 why's analysis, inability to fulfill restaurant's demand was caused due to several things including variations in the growth process as well as limited resources of farmers. Returns are caused by differences in quality control standards and qualifications between restaurant and MSME.

Abstract

Halal integrity in food supply chains has become increasingly critical due to the complexity of logistics activities and the growing demand for halal-certified products. Existing studies on halal supply chain risk mainly focus on risk identification, with limited attention to operational risk prioritization and proactive mitigation strategies, particularly in local beef supply chains. This research aims to assess halal supply chain risks and determine mitigation priorities in the Indonesian beef supply chain using the House of Risk (HOR) approach integrated with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and expert-based questionnaires involving actors in the beef supply chain. The study identified 17 risk events and 17 risk agents across sourcing, slaughtering, storage, packaging, and distribution activities. The results indicate that the most critical risk agents are poorly trained stunning operators (ARP = 479.66), unhygienic distribution conveyances (ARP = 465.93), and poorly trained slaughter personnel (ARP = 439.89), highlighting the importance of human resource capability and operational hygiene in maintaining halal integrity. The most effective mitigation strategies include training and certification programs, refrigerated transportation systems, and stricter operational compliance procedures. The result extends the application of the HOR framework in halal supply chain risk assessment and provides practical guidance for slaughterhouses and logistics providers in strengthening halal assurance. The study is limited to selected operational actors in the Indonesian beef supply chain.

Abstract

Warehouse operations require accurate inventory visibility, reliable location tracking, efficient order picking, and continuous monitoring to ensure operational efficiency and uninterrupted customer service. The growing adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies provides opportunities to enhance warehouse performance through real-time monitoring and data-driven decision support. This study presents a descriptive evaluation of smart warehouse operations using two complementary academic datasets representing a food-industry distribution center in Lhokseumawe, Indonesia. The first dataset compares warehouse performance under conventional manual monitoring and IoT-enabled monitoring across six storage zones. The second dataset summarizes 30 days of warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound transactions, tracked stock-keeping units (SKUs), environmental conditions, sensor alerts, and system downtime. Comparative analysis of the storage-zone dataset indicates that mean location accuracy increased from 82.43% under manual monitoring to 97.51% with IoT-based monitoring, representing an improvement of 15.09 percentage points. Mean order-picking time decreased from 14.52 minutes to 6.88 minutes, while the reported picking error rate declined from 6.30% to 0.96%. The daily operational dataset records 2,397 inbound and 2,069 outbound transactions, an average of 2,006.77 tracked SKUs, 64 sensor alerts, and 98 minutes of reported system downtime during the observation period. Because the storage-zone comparison and the daily operational records do not share a common implementation protocol, deployment timeline, or control warehouse, they are analyzed independently to avoid unsupported causal conclusions. The findings identify consistent operational patterns that integrate location accuracy, picking efficiency, transaction flow, environmental monitoring, sensor alerts, and downtime into a unified performance review framework. This study contributes a transparent evaluation model for assessing smart warehouse monitoring systems, providing a practical decision-support approach for warehouse performance assessment while avoiding causal claims beyond the available evidence

Abstract

Today's industrial activities are increasing with sophisticated technology, all applied to satisfy consumers in various services. One of the important parts of an industry is the inventory of goods. This is related to the continuity of the resulting production. In meeting the needs of consumers, a plan is needed in production so that there is no shortage of raw materials and the production process does not stop. Grain is an agricultural commodity whose demand and production levels occasionally increase. We can see that until now, our country, Indonesia, still imports rice from other countries, where rice is the main production product produced from grain. The problem can be solved with the Lot sizing method used in this study, which is used to determine the size of the order quantity. In the rice mill itself, grain storage has a limited capacity, so it cannot be directly stored with a large capacity when the price of grain is down. Applying this method as an application will make it easier to manage grain inventory at the rice mill and estimate inventory costs for the next 1 () year. The results of the lot sizing calculation (silver meal) show that for the next year, the smallest cost of procurement of dry milled grain (MDG) demand is obtained from the procurement of demand every month. In other words, procurement is more appropriate every month or period so that the costs incurred for grain inventory are smaller. The following data are the results of the silver meal lot sizing calculation: (1) 39015.4 kg, (2) 35871.2 kg, (3) 39536 kg, (4) 33894.8 kg, (5) 31402 kg, (6) 27982.5 kg, (7) 41461.9 kg, (8) 35336.7 kg, (9) 41305.6 kg, (10) 45717.5 kg, (11) 42007.9 kg, (12) 50828 kg. Abstract

This conceptual paper develops an integrative framework for sustainable supply-network capability in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It synthesizes established literature on the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, absorptive capacity, social capital, resilience, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. The analysis explains how supplier collaboration, resource efficiency, information sharing, dependence management, and continuity planning can be organized into proportionate managerial routines. No primary survey, interview, experimental, or statistical data are claimed. The framework proposes diagnosis, capability mapping, bounded experimentation, evidence review, governance, resource reconfiguration, and learning retention as a cumulative cycle. Implications are developed for owner-managers, support institutions, and future empirical research.

The analysis explains how environmental sensing, opportunity evaluation, rapid decision making, resource flexibility, and organizational learning can be organized into proportionate managerial routines. No primary survey, interview, experimental, or statistical data are claimed. The framework proposes diagnosis, capability mapping, bounded experimentation, evidence review, governance, resource reconfiguration, and learning retention as a cumulative cycle.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between logistics capability, inventory efficiency, and retail performance among five major Indonesian publicly listed retail companies — AMRT, MIDI, ERAA, ACES, and MAPI — using audited secondary financial data from 2020 to 2024. A quantitative, comparative, and longitudinal design was employed, analyzing net sales, inventory, cost of goods sold, inventory turnover, and store-network scale. All sampled companies recorded positive sales growth, though with varying trajectories. AMRT grew net revenue from Rp75.83 trillion to Rp118.23 trillion while maintaining stable inventory turnover. MIDI expanded revenue, inventory, and store networks concurrently. ERAA nearly doubled its sales, with ACES and MAPI also recording growth. Inventory investment generally increased alongside sales, reflecting greater operational capacity. AMRT's slight inventory turnover decline in 2024 is interpreted as a potential strategic response to network expansion rather than inefficiency. The findings suggest that logistics capability, inventory efficiency, and distribution-network scale serve as complementary indicators of retail operational performance. This study contributes comparative evidence to the logistics and retail management literature using audited data. However, inventory-based metrics should not be treated as direct measures of customer satisfaction. Future research should integrate customer-based indicators and apply advanced longitudinal methods with larger balanced datasets.
