Abstract

Biochar with a high organic matter composition is considered to be an ameliorant for Ultisol. Providing biochar as an ameliorant needs to be studied because it will cause an increase in micronutrients, most of which are excessive in Ultisol. This study aims to determine the effect of several levels of biochar dosage from corn cob as a base material on changes in micronutrients in Ultisol soil. This research was conducted in a greenhouse and in the Laboratory of Agrostology, Feed Industry and Soil Science, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. Experiments with several doses of biochar as treatment, e.g., 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% of the composition of the growing media were arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six replications. The parameters observed were the micronutrient content of Boron (B), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe) and Aluminum (Al). The experimental results showed that giving corn cob biochar with doses of 0.5%, 10% and 15% did not significantly change the levels of B, Cu and Zn Ultisol. Biochar at a dose of 10% significantly increased the soil Zn content and decreased Al-dd Ultisol solubility.

Abstract

Tomat merupakan salah satu tanaman sayuran penting di Indonesia. Penggunaan pupuk organik cair lamtoro dapat menjadi alternatif dalam menekan penggunaan pupuk anorganik dan memperbaiki kondisi lingkungan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair lamtoro dan interval waktu aplikasi terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan dan Laboratorium Agronomi, Fakultas Pertanian dan Peternakan, UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor, yakni konsentrasi pupuk organik cair lamtoro (0, 10, 20, 30%) dan interval waktu aplikasi (3, 6 dan 9 hari). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pupuk organik cair lamtoro dengan konsentrasi 10% efisien untuk meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang dan jumlah buah per tanaman. Interval 9 hari memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan diameter batang. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan konsentarsi dengan waktu aplikasi pupuk organik cair daun lamtoro.Kata kunci: konsentrasi, lingkungan, organik, pupuk, sayur

Abstract

Citrus that comes from Kuok is one of famous local comodity in Riau Province with limited production. To improve the production of citrus it can be done by serving the superior seed throught budding. Rootstock aged and shading levels give effect to the success of budding process. The aims of the study were to obtain the best shade level, suitable rootstock aged and the interaction of rootstock aged with shade level on budding success. This study was conducted on December 2018 to March 2019 at the Experimental Field, Faculty of Agriculture and Animals Science, Islam State University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This study used split plot design with two factors, shading levels (0%, 50%, 70%) and rootstock aged (4, 8, 12 month) with three replications. The parameters this measured in this study were growth percentage of buds, percentage of sprout, percentage of dormancy, bud burst time, length of buds and number of leaves. The results showed that shade level of 0% and the age of rootstock 4 months produced the best growth of citrus seedlings. There is interaction between the shade level 0% and rootstock aged 12 month to the growth of the budding citrus seedlings.

Abstract

Gambier plant (Uncaria gambier (Hunter) Roxb.) Is one of the important annual plants producing sap that is widely used for industrial and pharmaceutical purposes. In the Riau, especially Pekanbaru, there are many wild gambiers that have not been identified and need to be identified and characterized. This study aims to find the location of the plant, identify, describe the morphology and determine the type of gambier plants that grow wild in six sub-districts in Pekanbaru. This research was conducted in October to November 2019 in the Six Districts of Pekanbaru City. The method used is a survey method, with purposive sampling. The parameters observed include the leaves, branches, flowers and fruit. The results showed gambier plants were found in the Districts of Rumbai Pesisir, Bukit Raya, and Lima Puluh, while in the Districts of Sukajadi, Sail and Tenayan Raya there were none. Gambir found in the coastal district of Rumbai on the first point were shrimp type, while on the second and third points were riau type. Gambir found in Bukit Raya District in the first and second points are cubadak, while in the third point they are shrimp. Gambir found in Lima Puluh District at the first point of type cubadak.
