Abstract

Traditional food is one of the cultural products that was created to meet primary human needs by involving local wisdom. Various types of traditional food are processed from plants taken from the surrounding environment and other places. Local communities have specific interactions and perceptions of plants as ingredients for their traditional foods. The goal was to determine the diversity, the categories of utilization, the organs used, the preparation methods, and the Cultural Significance Index (ICS) of plants in traditional Tuban food ingredients. This research was conducted by surveying 117 respondents from 20 sub-districts in Tuban Regency, followed by in-depth interviews with 20 traditional food makers in Tuban. The data obtained is in the form of qualitative data in the form of local knowledge of the Tuban people regarding plants in their traditional food ingredients, while quantitative data is in the form of the Cultural Significance Index (ICS). The results showed that there were 15 families consisting of 10 species of plants in traditional Tuban food, all of which were cultivated plants, the most used category of plants as spices and the organs most used were seeds and the highest ICS value was Oryza sativa L.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is known to be susceptible to various types of flooding by showing various negative responses. This study seeks to ascertain the influence of PGPR on the adverse effects of floods on cayenne pepper as a means to mitigate farmer losses. The study used a completely randomized design on cayenne pepper which was given treatments in the form of control without PGPR (K(-)), control with PGPR (K(+)), flooding treatment for 2 days with PGPR 7 days later (P(+)) and without PGPR (P(-)) each with 10 reps. The two-way ANOVA test reflected that flooding had a significant effect on the response of plant height increase, petiole curvature angle, and wilting. In contrast, PGPR application had a significant effect on plant height increase and number of branches. The interaction of flooding and PGPR application significantly affects the increase in plant height but not the number of leaves, the number of branches, the angle of curvature of the petiole, and wilting. It was concluded that the application of PGPR can reduce the adverse effects of flooding on cayenne pepper farming.

Abstract

Nasi merupakan sumber karbohidrat masyarakat Indonesia dan dikonsumsi bersama makanan lain sebagai sumber protein, lemak, vitamin, mineral dan serat. Beberapa makanan tradisional pendamping nasi diolah dari hewan dari lingkungan masyarakat lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendokumentasikan makanan tradisional pendamping nasi khas Tuban sebagai upaya awal konservasi pengetahuan lokal masyarakat Tuban khususnya budaya kuliner dan menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya hewan dalam bahan baku makanan tradisional pendamping nasi khas Tuban. Metode penelitian ini adalah melalui survey, wawancara dan partisipasi secara langsung (participant observation) terhadap 120 responden pada 20 kecamatan di Kabupaten Tuban. Data yang diperoleh berupa jenis makanan, jenis hewan, cara memperoleh, habitat, organ yang digunakan dan preparasi kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif, sedangkan data kuantitatif berupa persentase penggunaan hewan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 8 jenis makanan tradisional pendamping nasi yaitu becek menthog, sate menthog, krengsengan bekicot, garang asem manyung, kare rajungan, ulas-ulas pe, nus ireng, dan krengsengan welut yang diolah dari 7 jenis hewan yaitu entog, bekicot, ikan jambal roti, rajungan, ikan pari, cumi-cumi dan belut. Habitat hewan tersebut adalah di darat, laut dan air tawar serta diperoleh dengan cara budidaya lokal maupun menangkap langsung di alam. Seluruh tubuh hewan dapat diolah menjadi masakan kecuali bagian yang tidak dapat dikonsumsi. Proses preparasi hewan sebelum dimasak diantaranya direbus, diasap, dan digoreng. Entog merupakan hewan yang dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan makanan tradisional pendamping nasi khas Tuban paling tinggi yaitu 28%.

Abstract

Pioneer plants are plants with high adaptability, so they can grow in disturbed environments, such as ex-limestone mining areas. This adaptability is supported by the ability of these plants to associate with soil bacteria in their rhizosphere area. The presence of these bacteria can support the growth of pioneer plants on disturbed land. The purpose of this study was to characterize the soil bacteria around the rhizosphere of pioneer plants in the former limestone mining areas. Soil samples in the rhizosphere area of 5 pioneer plants from ex-mining lime were then isolated using the Pour plate method to obtain bacterial isolates. The bacterial isolates obtained were then identified their colony morphology. Based on the results of colony morphological identification, 21 isolates were obtained from the rhizosphere of 5 pioneer plants from the former limestone mining area. The highest number of isolates was obtained from the rhizosphere of the Waltheria indica with 9 isolates, 8 isolates of each Lamium barbatum and Digitaria sanguinalis, 7 isolates of Chromoleana odoratum, and 5 isolates of Tridax procumbens.

Abstract

Singkong adalah komoditas pertanian vital di Indonesia dengan potensi besar sebagai sumber pangan lokal. Desa Lodan Kulon, yang terletak di Kecamatan Sarang, Kabupaten Rembang, terkenal akan kekayaan olahan pangan tradisional dari singkong yang menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan budaya dan ekonomi masyarakatnya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menguraikan ragam sajian tradisional berbahan dasar singkong yang ditemukan di Desa Lodan Kulon, serta menelaah peluang pengembangannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Temuan riset menunjukkan adanya lebih dari sepuluh jenis makanan tradisional singkong di Desa Lodan Kulon, antara lain tape, tiwul, getuk, cemplon, lemet, sayur daun singkong muda, gatot, keripik singkong kerupuk singkong, gemblong dan telo goreng. Keberagaman ini merefleksikan inovasi masyarakat dalam mengubah singkong menjadi aneka hidangan dengan cita rasa dan karakteristik unik. Potensi pengembangan olahan singkong ini sangat besar, baik untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi maupun melestarikan warisan kuliner lokal.

Abstract

Abstrak Sport ecotourism adalah kegiatan yang memadukan aktivitas olahraga dan pariwisata. Trail running merupakan salah satu sport ecotourism yang saat ini banyak diminati berbagai kalangan. Kabupaten Tuban Jawa Timur memiliki potensi besar untuk pengembangan sport ecotourism. Desa Ngrejeng Kecamatan Grabagan Kabupaten Tuban memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi salah satu destinasi tujuan sport ecotourism karena wilayahnya terdiri dari perbukitan karst yang memiliki kontur tidak rata sehingga menimbulkan tantangan bagi pelari. Selain itu, bentang alam ekosistem karst  yang unik dan menarik dapat memberikan pengalaman bagi pelari. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan trail running bertajuk Ngrejeng Karst Running bukan hanya memberikan dampak kesehatan raga juga meningkatan kesehatan jiwa. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan kepada karang taruna Desa Ngrejeng Kecamatan Grabagan untuk menyelenggarakan event olahraga berupa trail running. Trail running bertajuk Ngrejeng Karst Running ini melintasi 3 Desa yaitu Desa Grabagan, Desa Banyubang dan berakhir di Desa Ngrejeng. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yaitu: 1) tahap sosialisasi, 2) tahap pendampingan penyelenggaraan trail running event yang meliputi berbagai macam kegiatan, 3) tahap monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terbentuk tim penyelenggara (panitia) kegiatan, penentuan rute lari, berhasil menyusun proposal sponsorship dan promosi event trail running di berbagai platform media sosial. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan mitra secara mandiri maupun kolaborasi dengan tim PKM mampu menyelenggarakan berbagai macam event terkait sport ecotourism secara berkelanjutan guna mendukung upaya pembangunan desa melalui pengembangan ekowisata. Kata kunci: karang taruna; karst; ngrejeng; trail running. Abstract Sport ecotourism is an activity that combines sports and tourism. Trail running is one of the most popular forms of sport ecotourism that is currently gaining traction among various groups. Tuban Regency in East Java has significant potential for the development of sport ecotourism. Ngrejeng village has the potential to be developed into sport ecotourism destination because its terrain consists of karst hills with uneven contours, presenting a challenge for runners. In addition, the unique karst ecosystem landscape can provide an experience for runners. Therefore, the trail running activity entitled Ngrejeng Karst Running not only provides physical health benefits but also improves mental health. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide assistance to the Ngrejeng Village youth organization to organize a trail running event. The Ngrejeng Karst Running event traverses three villages: Grabagan, Banyubang, and Ngrejeng. The implementation of this activity is carried out in three stages: 1) the socialization stage, 2) the support stage for organizing the trail running eventand 3) the monitoring and evaluation stage. The outcomes of this activity include the formation of an organizing committee for the event, the determination of the running route, the sponsorship proposal, and the promotion of the trail running event. Based on the results of this community service activity, it is hoped that partners, either independently or in collaboration with the PKM team, will be able to organize various events related to sport ecotourism in a sustainable manner to support village development efforts through the development of ecotourism.  Keywords: karst; ngrejeng; trail running.
