Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting economic growth and providing various food, beverage, and processed products to the community. Along with the development of MSMEs, halal assurance has become an important aspect that needs to be considered by business actors, particularly in providing certainty and protection for consumers. Halal certification is not only related to compliance with legal requirements but also serves as a form of assurance for consumers and can increase consumer trust and the competitiveness of MSME products. This community service activity aimed to increase MSME actors' understanding of the importance of halal product assurance, the benefits of halal certification, and the procedures for applying for halal certification. The activity was conducted through socialization, educational presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The materials covered the concept of halal product assurance, the legal basis for halal certification, the benefits of certification for MSMEs, application requirements, and an introduction to the halal certification process through the SIHALAL system. The activity is expected to increase awareness among MSME actors regarding the importance of ensuring that the materials and production processes used comply with halal requirements and encourage business actors to obtain halal certification. Through improved understanding, MSMEs are expected to increase consumer confidence, expand market access, and strengthen the competitiveness of their products in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Higher education is an important stage in improving human resource quality and preparing young people to face developments in social life, the economy, and the world of work. However, limited information regarding higher education options, particularly Islamic state universities, can be one of the factors affecting students' interest in continuing their education to the higher education level. This community service activity aimed to introduce Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN Raden Fatah Palembang) to students of Modern Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Cambai. The information provided included the university profile, faculties and study programs, admission pathways, as well as various advantages and facilities available at the university. The activity was conducted through brochure distribution, presentation of materials, and an interactive question-and-answer session. The activity took place at Modern Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Cambai District. The results showed increased knowledge among students regarding higher education options and enthusiasm in obtaining information about study programs and university admission pathways. The socialization also motivated students to consider UIN Raden Fatah Palembang as one of their options for continuing their education. This activity is expected to assist students in planning their education after completing secondary education and to increase awareness of the importance of pursuing higher education.
