Abstract

Anonymity comes from the Greek word 'anonymia' which means 'without a name' which means unknown identity information, which can be used to identify objects in the form of humans or objects. This study examines the effect of anonymity on social media on freedom of speech and legal responsibility, with a case study of the "Fufu Fafa" account on Twitter. The research method used is a literature study of the content of the "Fufu Fafa" account. This study aims to understand how anonymity affects user behavior in expressing opinions and how legal responsibility is applied to anonymous accounts. The results of the study show that anonymity can be a double-edged sword in the context of social media. On the one hand, anonymity provides space for individuals to express their opinions without fear, especially on sensitive issues. However, on the other hand, it also encourages irresponsible behavior, such as the spread of false information, hatred, and political slander.

Abstract

This study aims to build a complete picture of the relationship between the indirect regional election system, public perception of political representation, and the level of legitimacy of elected regional heads. Public perception of representation in indirect regional elections is the public's view of political representation in the election of regional heads by the DPRD and its influence on public recognition and trust in the elected regional heads. This legitimacy is the main foundation for regional heads to carry out their duties and authorities effectively. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation of relevant sources. The number of respondents in this study was 5 respondents. The results of the study show that most people reject indirect regional elections because they are considered to reduce public participation and weaken the legitimacy of regional heads. Direct regional elections are considered more democratic, representative, and reflect the will of the people.

Abstract

Law enforcement against corruption is a vital aspect of maintaining the integrity of the Indonesian nation, considering that corruption has become a widespread and systemic phenomenon across various sectors. In this context, students, as agents of change, play an important role in overseeing legal enforcement issues. Unfortunately, understanding of anti-corruption laws remains uneven among students from different academic disciplines. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation involving 10 respondents from various departments at Universitas Negeri Medan. The purpose of this research is to analyze the level of understanding, differences in perspective, and the concern of students across disciplines toward the enforcement of anti-corruption laws in Indonesia. The findings reveal variations in understanding based on academic background, yet most students acknowledge the importance of integrating anti-corruption education across all majors as a preventive step to foster legal awareness and integrity from an early stage.

Abstract

The law-making process in Indonesia should ideally reflect the principles of transparency, public participation, and accountability. However, in practice, it is often found that legislation is enacted hastily without adequate involvement of the public. This situation causes public unrest, triggers a crisis of legal legitimacy, and diminishes trust in legislative institutions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of respondents involved in this study is 5. The aim of this research is to explore public perceptions of the hasty law-making process and its impact on public trust and legal legitimacy. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable input for policymakers to improve the legislative mechanism to be more participatory and transparent. The results of the study show that the majority of people in Jalan William Iskandar Pasar V, Deli Serdang, Sumatra Utara Regency, have a negative perception of the hasty and non-transparent legislative process. They feel excluded, lack access to information, and believe that the laws created do not reflect the aspirations of the public. This research concludes that the legitimacy crisis arises due to the lack of participation and transparency, and therefore, it is recommended that future legislative processes be more inclusive, fair, and aligned with the principles of participatory democracy
