Abstract

Hydrogel is a hydrophilic material that can absorb and retain large amounts of water through the formation of hydrogen bonds between polymer functional groups to form a stable three-dimensional network. The physicochemical characteristics of hydrogels are greatly influenced by the cross-linking process that determines the network density and stability of the preparation. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of tannic acid as a chemical crosslinker on the physicochemical characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-chitosan-based hydrogels. Hydrogels were formulated with varying concentrations of tannic acid of 1%, 3%, and 5%, then evaluated including organoleptic tests, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, swelling index, irritation test, and characterization using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). The results showed that increasing the concentration of tannic acid caused the formation of a denser hydrogel network, which was characterized by a decrease in the swelling index value and an increase in adhesion and changes in viscosity. The pH values ​​of all formulas were within the physiological pH range of the skin. Irritation tests on 20 panelists showed that all formulas did not cause irritation reactions. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of molecular interactions between PVA, chitosan, and tannic acid through hydrogen bond formation. Overall, variations in the concentration of tannic acid as a chemical crosslinker affected the physicochemical characteristics of the PVA–chitosan hydrogel and resulted in stable preparations with good quality

Abstract

Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a major factor causing skin damage that can trigger premature aging, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, and even skin cancer, thereby encouraging the development of natural-based sunscreens as safer and more environmentally friendly alternatives. The stem bark of kaledang (Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb.) contains active compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics, which have potential as UV absorbers as well as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the in vitro sunscreen activity of kaledang stem bark fractions and to identify the concentration that produces the highest Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value. The research employed an experimental design by testing chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol fractions at concentrations of 50, 100, and 200 ppm, respectively, using the SPF assay with UV-Vis spectrophotometry.

Abstract

Resistensi antibiotik merupakan masalah kesehatan diseluruh dunia. Resistensi antibiotik mengakibatkan bakteri tidak merespon obat yang akan membunuhnya. Hal ini mengakibatkan penurunan kemampuan antibiotik dalam mengobati penyakit infeksi pada manusia. Salah satu upaya mengurangi angka resistensi antibiotik yaitu dengan cara memberikan informasi melalui suatu media. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh leaflet terhadap tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dalam penggunaan amoxicillin/ampicillin di Desa Hutada’a Kecamatan Talaga Jaya Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimental dengan bentuk one group pre test-post test. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama dua bulan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 266 responden. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum diberikan media leaflet tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dalam kategori kurang (24,10%), cukup (40,20%), dan baik (35,70%). Setelah diberikan media leaflet tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dalam kategori cukup (25,60%) dan baik (74,40), yang artinya terdapat pengaruh media leaflet terhadap tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat di Desa Hutada’a Kecamatan Talaga Jaya Kabupaten Gorontalo (p<0,05).

Abstract

Pneumonia adalah salah satu bentuk infeksi saluran pernapasan bagian atas yang menyerang paru-paru dimana respiratory syntical virus(RSV) menjadi penyebab utama pneumonia dengan penyebab bakteri streptococcus pneumoniae. Evaluasi penggunaan obat menjadi aspek utama dalam proses penggunaan antibiotik pada pasien pneumonia khususnyapasienanak.Penelitianinibertujuanuntukmengetahui penggunaan antibiotik yang meliputi tepat obat, tepat dosis dan tepat aturan pakai pada pasien pneumonia anak di Puskesmas Kota Utara Kota Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian observasional secara retrospektif dengan melakukan penelusuran catatan pengobatan pasien pneumonia dalam catatan rekam medis sebanyak 55 pasien, data dianalisis secara univariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pneumonia anak lebih banyak dialami oleh perempuan52.7%danlebihbanyakterjadipadausia4tahun36.4%.Obat antibiotikyang digunakan adalah amoksisilin,tepatdosis berjumlah 49 pasien dan tidak tepatdosis berjumlah 6 pasien. Sesuai aturan pakai berjumlah 55 pasien. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini evaluasi penggunaan antibiotik pada pasien pneumonia anak tepat obat sebasar 100%, tepat dosis 89.09%, tidak tepat dosis 10.91% dan tepat aturan pakai 100%.

Abstract

Emergency trolley merupakan troli berisi obat-obatan dan alat kesehatan yang digunakan untuk penanganan kondisi darurat seperti henti jantung dan syok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian kelengkapan obat pada emergency trolley di IGD RSUD Sayang Rakyat Makassar berdasarkan standar yang berlaku. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui observasi dan dokumentasi langsung periode Januari–Februari 2026. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik total sampling terhadap unit emergency trolley dan seluruh stok obat di dalamnya. Hasil evaluasi kuantitas dari 21 jenis obat menunjukkan 17 jenis berkondisi lengkap (100%), namun terdapat defisit kuantitas pada 4 jenis sediaan (Amiodaron injeksi, Isosorbid dinitrat injeksi, Furosemid injeksi, dan Isosorbid dinitrat tablet 5 mg). Dari total 52 unit volume ideal, hanya tersedia 45 unit fisik di lapangan (capaian 86,54% dan defisit 13,46%). Dari aspek kualitas, ditemukan sediaan kedaluwarsa (Methyl prednisolon 125 mg injeksi dan Amiodaron injeksi) serta sediaan kritis dekat kedaluwarsa (Epinefrin injeksi dan Stesolid 5 mg), meskipun kemasan 100% baik. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian kelengkapan obat belum sepenuhnya memenuhi standar yang telah ditentukan. ABSTRACT Emergency trolley is a cart containing medicines and medical devices used to manage emergency conditions such as cardiac arrest and shock. This study aims to determine the suitability of drug completeness in the emergency trolley at the Emergency Department (ED) of Sayang Rakyat Regional General Hospital Makassar based on applicable standards. The research method used descriptive quantitative through direct observation and documentation during January–February 2026. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique on the emergency trolley unit and all drug stocks within it. The quantity evaluation of 21 drug types showed that 17 types were complete (100%), yet a quantity deficit was found in 4 preparations (Amiodarone injection, Isosorbide dinitrate injection, Furosemide injection, and Isosorbide dinitrate tablet 5 mg). Of the total 52 ideal volume units, only 45 physical units were available in the field (achievement 86.54% and deficit 13.46%). In terms of quality, expired preparations (Methyl prednisolone 125 mg injection and Amiodarone injection) and critical near-expiry preparations (Epinephrine injection and Stesolid 5 mg) were found, although 100% of the packaging was in good condition. The study concludes that the drug completeness has not fully met the predetermined standards.
