Abstract

Student engagement is the key to successful student learning in schools. This study aims to determine the effect of family support and school climate on student engagement in learning in secondary schools. The method used is quantitative with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The measuring instruments used include the student engagement scale, family support scale (FSS), and the Maryland's safety and supportive school instrument to measure school climate. The results of the study on 181 students showed that simultaneously, family support and school climate had a significant effect on student engagement (R² = 0.262 p 0.05). However, partially, only school climate had a significant effect (? = 0.487, p 0.05), while family support did not show a significant effect (p 0.05). These results indicate that a positive school climate can increase student engagement in academic and non-academic activities. Thus, it is important to create a conducive school climate to increase active student participation so that it will improve the quality of learning.ABSTRAKKeterlibatan siswa merupakan kunci sukses pembelajaran siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh family support dan iklim sekolah terhadap keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran pada sekolah menengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda. Alat ukur yang digunakan meliputi student enggagement scale, family support scale (FSS), dan instrumen maryland's safety and supportive school untuk mengukur iklim sekolah. Hasil penelitian terhadap 181 siswa menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan, family support dan iklim sekolah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterlibatan siswa (R² = 0,262 p 0,05). Namun secara parsial, hanya iklim sekolah yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan (? = 0,487, p 0,05), sedangkan family support tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan (p 0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa iklim sekolah yang positif dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan akademik dan non-akademik. Dengan demikian penting menciptakan iklim sekolah yang kondusif untuk meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa sehingga akan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

The following bullying behaviors are prevalent in primary schools: relationship bullying, physical bullying, and verbal bullying. Bullying has a detrimental effect on the mental health of witnesses, offenders, and victims. Issues occur when educators lack a thorough understanding of how to deal with and stop bullying in the classroom. Therefore, a comprehensive strategy is required to end the cycle of bullying in schools. Training in managing and preventing bullying incidents based on Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory for teachers is the suggested remedy for the issue. The idea of ecology is highly applicable to combating bullying by getting involved in many facets of the school environment. Teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember are the service's target audience. The planned activities carried out are teacher training and mentoring. Activities are carried out using workshop methods, pre-test and post-test, focus group discussions using learning technology media. Through this activity, it is hoped that teachers can understand and implement case prevention and handling in schools. The results of the service post test showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the implementation of Bronfenbrenner's ecology to build a bullying-free school ecosystem. Furthermore, ongoing assistance is needed to form an anti-bullying task force in Bronfrenbrenner ecological-based schools.ABSTRAKTrend perilaku bullying yang sering terjadi di Sekolah Dasar adalah bullying verbal, bullying fisik dan bullying relasi. Perilaku bullying berdampak buruk bagi kesejahteraan psikologis korban, pelaku dan saksi. Permasalahan muncul ketika guru belum sepenuhnya mengetahui mekanisme penanganan dan pencegahan perilaku bullying di sekolah. Dengan demikian perlu adanya pendekatan holistik untuk memutus mata rantai perilaku bullying di sekolah. Solusi permasalahan yang ditawarkan adalah pelatihan penanganan dan pencegahan kasus bullying berbasis teori ekologi Bronfenbrenner pada guru. Konsep ekologi cukup relevan untuk mengatasi bullying melalui partisipasi seluruh tingkatan ekosistem sekolah. Target sasaran dalam pengabdian ini adalah guru SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember. Rencana kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan Guru. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode workshop, pre test dan post test, focus group discussion dengan memanfaatkan media teknologi pembelajaran. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan guru dapat memahami dan mengimplementasikan pencegahan dan penanganan kasus di sekolah. Hasil post test pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru tentang implementasi ekologi Bronfenbrenner untuk membangun ekosistem sekolah bebas bullying. Selanjutnya, perlu dilakukan pendampingan yang berkelanjutan untuk membentuk satgas anti perundungan di sekolah berbasis ekologi Bronfrenbrenner.

Abstract

Terdapat Agroindustri tahu di Desa Glagasan Petung yang belum memahami bahaya dari limbah cair tahu terhadap lingkungan. Agroindustri tersebut membuang limbah cair tahu ke sungai begitu saja. Padahal limbah cair tahu tersebut berpotensi dijadikan bahan baku untuk pembuatan mikroorganisme lokal. Mikroorganisme lokal yaitu gabungan mikrorganisme berasal dari sumber daya lokal, yang dimanfaatkan sebagai starter yang digunakan untuk tahap awal pada proses fermentasi dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair atau POC. Dengan demikian pengabdian masyarakat edukasi pembuatan POC merupakan solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Metode dalam kegiatan ini dimulai dengan ceramah dan praktik pembuatan POC. Setelah itu, bentuk evaluasinya diberikan dengan cara pemberian kui-sioner baik sebelum maupun sesudah kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil evaluasi yang diberikan menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih baik dari sebelum pemaparan materi dan praktik pembuatan POC. Kegiatan tersebut berjalan dengan lancar dan para peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan tersebut. Terjadi peningkatan pemahaman tentang manfaat dan bahaya dari limbah cair tahu serta peserta mengetahui proses pembuatan pupuk organik cair untuk menjadi salah satu alternatif apabila pupuk kimia susah untuk didapatkan.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine how high school students' satisfaction with online learning is impacted by instructor involvement and self-directed learning. A quantitative methodology was employed, involving 340 pupils from five different Surabaya schools. Random cluster sampling with stratified sampling was the method used. The learner-instructor interaction questionnaire by Kang and Im (2014), the student satisfaction with online learning scale adopted from Dziuban et al. (2015), and the self-rating scale of self-directed learning derived from Sulasiwi et al. (2019) are the measuring tools used in this research. With a value (R Square) of 0.401, the regression test results indicate that student satisfaction with online learning is significantly influenced by both teacher interaction and self-directed learning. Self-directed learning provided 0.233 and instructor interaction contributed 0.454, respectively, to the total. Teachers should be able to acquire excellent communication skills in this way in order to teach. In addition, counseling sessions are held for students to help them become self-sufficient in their online education. It is well established that students who engage positively with teachers and who possess strong self-directed learning skills would be more satisfied with their online education, which leads to in online learning success.

Abstract

The reforms taking place in Indonesia have resulted in the emergence of a democratic spirit, accountability and transparency in the government sector. Reforms in various fields have led to the realization of the implementation of the duties and functions of state governance and development characterized by the principles of good governance. In implementing education, schools have autonomy. This educational autonomy model is School Based Management (SBM). Schools have the authority to carry out creativity, innovation and improvisation in realizing quality education. The School-Based Management (SBM) concept makes education management more focused and well-coordinated in terms of implementation, funding, development and supervision. This Community Service Program seeks to provide answers and solutions to problems to create accountability and transparency in financial management in public institutions at the central and regional levels, including schools. Based on the problems faced by the community, the service that will be carried out is to provide training and education to the school, especially the Principal, Treasurer and Financial Executive at SD Muhammadiyah Semboro Jember. This community service method uses seminars/workshops, practice and discussions with the Principal, Treasurer and Financial Executive at SD Muhammadiyah Semboro Jember
