Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Blooket media in enhancing English vocabulary among students. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a pre-experimental design with a single group pre-test and post-test. The participants included 31 fifth-grade students from SDN Ngronggo 8 Kediri during the 2024/2025 academic year. The findings revealed that the average pre-test score was 67.25, while the post-test score increased to 81.61, indicating a marked improvement. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001, which is less than the threshold of 0.05, confirming a significant increase in vocabulary performance. These results demonstrate that the implementation of Blooket media effectively enhances students' English vocabulary learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the types of code-switching as categorized by Poplack and analyzes their functions in the context of online language teaching. Employing a qualitative approach, the study utilized classroom observations and teacher interviews to investigate the types and functions of code-switching. Five recorded online English lessons were analyzed to identify patterns of code-switching, and a semi-structured interview with the teacher provided insights into the rationale behind its use. Findings revealed that intra-sentential code-switching was the most frequently used, followed by inter-sentential and tag-switching. In addition to these patterns, the study also identifies their main functions. The primary functions of code-switching include facilitating curriculum access, managing the classroom, and fostering interpersonal connection. While these findings align with Alghasab’s framework, some instances fall outside these categories suggesting the presence of additional functions that require further investigation. These findings indicate that code-switching serves a broader range of pedagogical purposes in virtual classrooms, highlighting the need for further exploration.

Abstract

Inclusive education represents the intersection of global human rights discourse and the imperative for social justice. However, its implementation within Muslim societies often requires a strong legitimation rooted in the Islamic theological and juridical tradition. This research aims to construct a juridical-philosophical argument regarding the right to education for children with special needs (CSN) by using the framework of Maq??id al-Shar?‘ah (the higher objectives of Islamic law) as its primary analytical tool. Through a qualitative method of hermeneutical library research, this article critically examines primary and secondary sources within the Islamic legal tradition. The analysis reveals that the educational rights of CSN are inherently supported by fundamental Islamic principles, such as universal human dignity (kar?mah ins?niyyah), justice (‘ad?lah), and the obligation to seek knowledge (?alab al-‘ilm). An analysis through Maq??id al-Shar?‘ah affirms that fulfilling this right is a direct manifestation of the effort to protect the five universal necessities (al-?ar?riyy?t al-khamsah): religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. The findings have implications for the development of adaptive curricula, compassion-based (ra?mah) pedagogy, and proactive policies. It is concluded that Maq??id al-Shar?‘ah provides a dynamic and progressive ethical framework for advocating a truly inclusive and just educational system.

Abstract

Recent advances in immersive learning technologies have opened new pathways for innovation in English Language Teaching (ELT). Despite this progress, scholarly discussion on the application of Virtual Reality (VR) for inclusion students within Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum remains limited. This study conceptually examines the integration of Millealab, an Indonesian-developed VR platform, into inclusive ELT as a means of supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which emphasizes equitable and quality education for all. The proposed conceptual framework demonstrates how Millealab supports differentiated instruction, enhances learner engagement, and facilitates the design of Individualized Learning Programs (ILPs) aligned with inclusive education principles. By situating Millealab within interconnected pedagogical and technological dimensions, this study contributes to broader discussions on adaptive, accessible, and equitable VR-based instructional design. While challenges related to teacher preparedness and resource availability persist, the findings suggest that Millealab holds strong potential as a transformative model for inclusive ELT. Future empirical research is recommended to validate the framework and examine its long-term educational impact.
