Abstract

The propagation of Tunera Plants with the aim and Community Service Program implemented is to synergize the potential and knowledge possessed by the Academic Community with the realities currently being faced by society, especially our community which is related to the competence of the field of knowledge of the Plantation Cultivation Study Program and Plantation Product Processing Technology Study Program. Benefits The benefit of the Community Service Program implemented is the creation of multiplication of tunera subulate plants among community farmers. It is hoped that this will be beneficial for farmers in controlling pests naturally without using pesticides which can reduce the fertility of the soil itself. Community service was carried out in Buntu Turunan Village, Hatonduhan District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province, carried out for 3 days, starting from 28 - 29 August 2023. With the results of community service activities, it can provide education and innovation for the community that the tunera plant is very important. useful for oil palm plants in controlling pests including fireworms.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Rumah Galuh Village, Sei Bingai sub-district, Langkat Regency. The Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) demonstration was carried out for 1 day and was attended by local residents with the aim of making people aware that liquid organic fertilizer is an alternative to chemical fertilizer. Apart from being environmentally friendly, POC can also be made by yourself by utilizing the natural wealth in their village. The problem with the Galuh house community is chemical fertilizers whose prices are unaffordable because chemical fertilizers, which can be categorized as expensive to buy, make people lazy to fertilize their plants. Bamboo shoots are one of the natural resources that can be used as POC. Bamboo shoots are a material that can be used as organic fertilizer because they contain organic materials and other ingredients that can increase plant growth. Bamboo shoots contain the hormone gibberalin, phosphorus 59mg, calcium 13mg, iron 0.5mg, potassium 20.12mg. The content of the gibberalin hormone and these nutrients will be useful in stimulating the growth of oil palm seedlings and possibly reducing the dose of NPK fertilizer used when fertilizing oil palm seedlings. PKM ITSI MEDAN students conducted socialization to the Rumah Galuh community about procedures for making POC. The benefits of POC itself can support the development of environmentally friendly agriculture, and can produce materials that are free from chemical content and become an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out with the aim of helping partners increase the added value and achieve zero waste from the empty fruit bunch waste produced by the Adolina PTPN IV palm oil mill. The increase in added value of empty fruit bunch waste from palm oil is achieved by processing it into biochar, as it has been proven to be one of the soil amendment technologies for sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices. This community service activity was carried out by initially producing biochar by a team of service providers consisting of lecturers and ITSI students, using raw materials obtained from the Adolina PTPN IV factory. After the biochar product was completed, the research results were disseminated as a practical product by directly applying it in the Adolina palm oil plantation area. This community service activity was carried out using methods of socialization, education, and evaluation for partners about biochar and its application in the Adolina plantation. The partners feel very happy and grateful for this activity as they gained new information and added practical skills about alternative uses of biochar as an organic fertilizer that can enhance soil fertility and improve the quality of the plants (oil palm fruits) produced. Partners also provided input to continue working together in enhancing the capacity of human resources and institutions through research and community service collaborations, so that it can be more optimal and extensive in deepening the application of appropriate technology in plantation lands, potentially leading to commercialization products that can benefit both parties..

Abstract

This research explores how information systems can improve access to justice for marginalized groups, focusing on the challenges they encounter within legal frameworks. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were gathered through surveys and interviews involving both community members and legal professionals. The analysis reveals that existing information systems can enhance awareness of legal rights and streamline access to legal services. Results show that by making information systems more user-friendly, understanding and navigation of legal processes for marginalized populations can be significantly improved. The study concludes that optimizing these systems is essential for filling gaps in legal access, highlighting the importance of collaboration between legal experts and technology developers to create effective solutions that address the specific needs of these communities. This research adds to the discourse on how technology can help close the justice gap and foster a more equitable legal system

Abstract

Abstract

Palm oil mill boiler ash is a solid industrial waste available in large quantities, but its utilization is still limited. This waste has alkaline properties and nutrient content that has the potential to improve the physical-chemical properties of tropical acid soils, such as pH, cation exchange capacity, and macronutrient availability, making it a potential sustainable soil ameliorant. This study aims to process organic fertilizer, namely an organomineral product based on boiler ash, with the aim of evaluating its chemical characteristics and assessing its potential application as a soil ameliorant. The analysis results show that Puler has a pH value of 9 and a nutrient composition that can improve soil quality without heavy metal concentrations above the Indonesian national standard threshold. These findings indicate that Puler can be an efficient alternative ameliorant and supports the utilization of palm oil industry waste. In addition, this puler also meets the criteria for organic fertilizer standards according to SNI 7763:2024

Abstract

Document authenticity is a critical issue in administrative, academic, and legal environments due to the increasing ease of document manipulation using digital technologies. This research focuses on analyzing document authenticity based on digital image processing by utilizing the DAUS approach through texture feature extraction and visual characteristics. The problem addressed in this study is how to effectively distinguish between authentic and manipulated documents using image-based analysis. The proposed approach involves processing scanned or photographed document images to extract texture features and visual cues, such as surface patterns, ink distribution, and structural inconsistencies, which may indicate alterations. These features are then analyzed to identify differences between original and non-original documents. The results of the analysis demonstrate that the combination of texture features and visual characteristics can provide meaningful information for detecting document authenticity. This study concludes that digital image–based analysis using the DAUS approach offers a promising alternative to manual inspection, enabling a more objective and systematic method for document verification. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of reliable document authentication systems in various practical applications.
