Abstract

Language is the primary tool of communication used by humans to express intentions and goals. In the context of early childhood development, language skills play a crucial role in supporting children's social, cognitive, and emotional interactions. One common issue that arises is speech delay, a condition in which a child experiences obstacles in various aspects of language, including articulation, voice, fluency, and sound comprehension. This article aims to theoretically examine language development in early childhood with speech delay, focusing on the aspect of receptive language. Data were obtained through a literature review of various relevant journals and theses. The results of the study indicate that both internal factors (such as neurological conditions) and external factors (especially parenting patterns) influence speech delays. Children with mild speech delay can show progress through proper stimulation, while those with more severe conditions require professional intervention.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. The primary objective of this study is to explore the extent to which CTL can improve students' learning outcomes, reading skills, and critical thinking skills. Data collection was conducted through a literature review of relevant scientific articles published within the last five years. Articles were systematically selected based on the criteria of thematic relevance, source quality, and focus on Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The study results indicate that the implementation of CTL consistently has a positive impact on reading comprehension, learning activities, and the development of students' critical thinking skills. However, challenges such as time constraints, teacher preparedness, and a lack of digital resources hinder its implementation. Therefore, institutional support and ongoing teacher training are key to the success of this approach in the context of elementary education.

Abstract

This study examines the use of storytelling as a learning strategy to improve elementary school students' Indonesian speaking skills. The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of storytelling in developing children's language skills through a fun, communicative, and imaginative approach. This study employed a literature review method, reviewing literature and previous research relevant to Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. The results indicate that storytelling, whether in traditional, visual, or interactive forms, consistently improves students' pronunciation, vocabulary mastery, speaking confidence, and narrative comprehension. The use of supporting media such as animation, puppets, and pair-based activities strengthens student retention and active participation. Thus, storytelling is a suitable method for Indonesian language learning as a means to improve speaking skills and build effective communication from an early age.

Abstract

This study is a literature review examining the effectiveness of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model in improving elementary school students' Indonesian language competency. The primary focus of this study is on reading and writing skills, as well as affective aspects such as student motivation and learning participation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the extent to which the NHT model is able to encourage improved learning outcomes and the quality of the Indonesian language learning process at the elementary level. The method used is a literature review, reviewing various relevant research findings from 2020 to 2025. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the NHT model significantly improves student learning outcomes, encourages collaboration, and builds individual responsibility within groups. Furthermore, this model has also been shown to increase student motivation and create a fun learning experience. These findings recommend the use of the NHT model as an alternative Indonesian language learning strategy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore various innovative learning models that contribute to improving beginning writing skills in elementary school students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, data were gathered from scientific journals, conference proceedings, and relevant academic literature published within the past five to ten years. The review findings indicate that models such as Quantum Learning, Talking Stick, and Picture and Picture are effective in encouraging active student engagement and enhancing early writing abilities. These models provide a learning environment that is enjoyable, communicative, and contextually appropriate for children's development. The study highlights the importance of employing creative and functional teaching approaches in modern elementary education. Although this research offers conceptual contributions to the development of early literacy strategies, it remains limited to literature-based findings and lacks direct field application, thus further applied research is recommended.
