Abstract

Masalah kekurangan gizi pada balita dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya infeksi Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). Infeksi kecacingan ini masih banyak ditemukan di negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia, dan dapat berkontribusi terhadap gangguan status gizi serta kejadian stunting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan antosianin dari ekstrak ubi ungu sebagai pewarna alternatif dalam pemeriksaan telur cacing STH pada balita stunting di Kabupaten Bulukumba. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan desain observasi laboratorik yang bersifat deskriptif kategorik. Pengumpulan data diawali dengan pemberian kuesioner untuk menentukan responden yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian. Dari proses tersebut diperoleh 19 responden balita stunting. Sampel feses kemudian diperiksa menggunakan metode sedimentasi dengan pewarnaan ekstrak antosianin dari ubi ungu. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS melalui uji statistik frekuensi. Hasil pemeriksaan mikroskopis menunjukkan 4 dari 19 sampel positif mengandung telur cacing Ascaris lumbricoides. Telur fertil ditemukan pada sampel berkode 1 dan 3, sedangkan telur infertil ditemukan pada sampel berkode 8 dan 11. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proporsi kecacingan pada balita stunting di Kecamatan Ujung Bulu dan Gantarang, Kabupaten Bulukumba, sebesar 21,1%. Selain itu, ekstrak antosianin dari ubi jalar ungu dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna dalam pemeriksaan telur cacing STH. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi penelitian selanjutnya, khususnya dalam bidang parasitologi dan sains kesehatan.

Abstract

Pengendalian jentik nyamuk merupakan salah satu strategi penting untuk memutus rantai penularan penyakit berbasis vektor. Daun allamanda mengandung senyawa fitokimia seperti alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, dan tanin yang berpotensi menimbulkan efek larvasida. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun Allamanda cathartica L. terhadap mortalitas jentik nyamuk setelah 24 jam pajanan. Penelitian menggunakan desain observasi laboratorik dengan tipe post test-only non-equivalent control group. Ekstrak daun dibuat melalui maserasi etanol 99,8% dan diencerkan menjadi konsentrasi 5%, 15%, 25%, dan 35%; akuades digunakan sebagai kontrol negatif. Setiap kelompok berisi 23 jentik dan pengujian dilaporkan dilakukan tiga kali dengan hasil yang sama. Mortalitas jentik pada kontrol 0% dan konsentrasi 5% adalah 0%, konsentrasi 15% sebesar 8,70%, konsentrasi 25% sebesar 52,17%, dan konsentrasi 35% sebesar 100%. Regresi probit binomial menunjukkan hubungan dosis-respons yang kuat antara konsentrasi ekstrak dan kematian jentik, dengan estimasi LC50 sebesar 23,72%, LC80 sebesar 28,44%, dan LC90 sebesar 30,91%. Ekstrak daun allamanda menunjukkan aktivitas larvasida yang meningkat seiring kenaikan konsentrasi, dengan konsentrasi 35% sebagai perlakuan paling efektif dalam kondisi penelitian ini.

Abstract

Anthocyanins are natural pigments belonging to the flavonoid group, widely found in various plant parts, particularly fruits, flowers, and peels, where they are responsible for red, purple, and blue colors. These compounds possess extensive potential in the fields of food, health, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals due to their bioactive properties, especially as antioxidants. However, anthocyanins exhibit low stability against environmental factors such as temperature, pH, light, oxidation, and processing conditions, which affects the effectiveness of their isolation and utilization in practical applications. Therefore, an appropriate modern technological approach and process optimization ranging from extraction and purification to product stabilization—are required. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) aims to comprehensively analyze various isolation techniques for anthocyanins from sweet potatoes, including conventional and technology-assisted extraction methods, purification techniques, stability challenges, and opportunities for developing sustainable industrial methods. Literature searches were conducted on published scientific articles between 2016–2026 , initially yielding a total of 274 publications, from which 13 articles were selected according to the inclusion criteria. The majority of studies utilized the tubers as the source of anthocyanins. The review findings indicate that the optimization of extraction methods is proven to be crucial. Methods such as ASE, UAE, HPCD, and SCCO2 offer significantly higher yields compared to conventional extraction. This review is expected to serve as a scientific reference for the development of efficient, eco-friendly, and commercially valuable anthocyanin isolation technology.

Abstract

This review synthesizes research on "Good techniques for isolation and purification of chemical composition of clove compounds, focusing on eugenol, and their medicinal uses" to address inconsistencies in extraction efficacy and bioactivity preservation. The review aimed to evaluate extraction and purification methods for eugenol isolation, benchmark yield and purity, identify associated medicinal properties, compare conventional and green technologies, and analyze extraction parameters influencing bioactivity. A systematic analysis of studies employing hydro-distillation, Soxhlet, microwave-assisted, ultrasound-assisted, supercritical CO2, and deep eutectic solvent extractions was conducted, alongside chemical and chromatographic purification techniques. Findings indicate that microwave-assisted and ultrasound-assisted methods achieve higher eugenol yields (up to ~20%) and maintain bioactivity more effectively than conventional methods, while green technologies reduce solvent toxicity and energy consumption. Chemical purification attains high purity (>95%) but often compromises yield and sustainability. Analytical methods such as GC-MS and HPLC provide robust purity assessment, though standardization remains limited. Bioactivity assays confirm strong antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiinflammatory effects linked to extraction parameters and purity levels. Integration of extraction and purification processes is emerging but underdeveloped, with scalability and reproducibility challenges persisting. These findings underscore the need for standardized, sustainable protocols optimizing yield, purity, and medicinal efficacy of eugenol, informing future pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate scientific evidence on phytochemistry, pharmacology, green extraction, and bioeconomics of Peperomia pellucida (L.). Kunth through the Systematic Literature Review approach. The research was conducted by searching the Scopus database for articles using keywords related to Peperomia pellucida, phytochemicals, pharmacology, extraction, toxicology, antioxidants, antibacterial activity, and antidiabetic activity. Of the initial 89 articles, the selection process across identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion yielded 34 articles for narrative analysis. The study found that P. pellucida contains various bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, phenols, terpenoids, steroids, lignans, phenylpropanoids, essential oils, dillapiole, quercetin, apigenin, stigmasterol, and fucosterol. The compound exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antibacterial, antihypertensive, anticancer, gastroprotective, neuroprotective, antiarthritis, antimalarial, and wound-healing activities. Extraction techniques such as maceration, solvent fractionation, MAE, IL-MAE, NADES, fermentation, drying, and gamma irradiation have been shown to affect compound content, biological activity, safety, and extract quality. This study concludes that P. pellucida has the potential to be developed as an ingredient in herbs, functional foods, phytopharmaceuticals, cosmetics, topical products, bioaccharicides, and bioeconomic commodities, but still requires standardization, safety validation, and further research.

Abstract

Jahe emprit (Zingiber officinale var. amarum) has attracted growing scientific attention because its gingerols, shogaols, zingerone, essential oils, and related metabolites support functional food and phytopharmaceutical development. This review synthesizes recent evidence on phytochemical fingerprinting, green extraction, nanobiotechnological delivery, bioactivities, and translational barriers of jahe emprit and closely related ginger materials. Literature was selected through systematic query expansion, screening, citation chaining, and relevance ranking of studies published mainly between 2017 and 2026. The reviewed studies show that chromatographic, spectroscopic, metabolomic, and chemometric approaches can improve authentication and quality marker identification, especially for 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, zingerone, alpha-zingiberene, and location-sensitive essential oil profiles. Green extraction methods, particularly supercritical CO2 extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, ultrasound-assisted extraction, and enzyme-assisted extraction, improve yield, selectivity, and bioactive preservation compared with conventional methods. Nanocarriers such as liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, solid lipid nanoparticles, and plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles enhance solubility, stability, bioavailability, and targeted delivery in preclinical models. Nevertheless, clinical translation remains constrained by inconsistent quality standards, limited pharmacokinetic data, scale-up uncertainty, regulatory ambiguity, and insufficient long-term safety evidence. Standardized quality markers, reproducible extraction protocols, validated nanoformulations, and rigorous clinical trials are needed to convert jahe emprit from promising bioresource into scalable therapeutic products.

Abstract

This study aims to map phytochemical diversity, biological activity, strength of evidence, and factors that affect the variation in metabolite profiles in mangrove plants. The study used  a mini literature review  design with a multidimensional mapping approach to publications that discuss mangrove species, plant parts, extraction methods, compound identification techniques, and bioactivity testing. Data were collected through literature search, selection based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, structured data extraction, article quality assessment, and descriptive and narrative synthesis. The results showed that mangrove plants contain a diverse range of compounds, especially phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, glycosides, terpenoids, triterpenoids, limonoids, quinones, and fatty acids. The most commonly reported biological activities were antioxidants and antimicrobials, followed by anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, anticancer, cytotoxic, hepatoprotective, analgesic, and neuroprotective activities. The phytochemical and bioactivity profiles are influenced by species, plant parts, tissue age, location, environmental conditions, solvent type, extraction techniques, purification, and analysis methods. Most of the evidence still comes from crude extracts and in vitro testing, while toxicity, pharmacokinetics, bioavailability, and clinical validation is still limited. This study concludes that mangroves have great potential as a source of bioactive compounds, but their utilization requires standardization of methods, tiered validation, and sustainable resource management.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan minat masyarakat Kelurahan Sapanang, Kabupaten Pangkajene dan Kepulauan, terhadap pemanfaatan limbah kulit udang sebagai sumber astaxanthin dan bahan tambahan pangan kaya antioksidan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Sabtu, 25 April 2026, melalui penyuluhan dan presentasi kepada 25 warga masyarakat sekitar. Instrumen evaluasi menggunakan angket pretest dan posttest yang mencakup aspek pengetahuan, pemahaman proses, persepsi manfaat ekonomi, serta sikap dan minat peserta terhadap pemanfaatan limbah kulit udang. Instrumen juga memuat penilaian kegiatan pada tahap posttest, yaitu kemudahan pemahaman materi, kebermanfaatan kegiatan, dan minat terhadap kegiatan lanjutan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor dari 33,68 pada pretest menjadi 40,64 pada posttest, dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,60 atau termasuk kategori sedang. Uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk terhadap selisih skor menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal, W = 0,940; p = 0,147, sehingga analisis parametrik menggunakan paired-samples t-test dapat diterapkan. Hasil uji t berpasangan menunjukkan peningkatan skor yang signifikan setelah kegiatan, t(24) = 7,758; p < 0,001, dengan rerata selisih 6,96 dan effect size Cohen’s dz = 1,55. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan efektif meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai potensi limbah kulit udang sebagai sumber astaxanthin, sekaligus mendorong penerimaan positif terhadap pengembangan program lanjutan berbasis sumber daya lokal.

Abstract

Pelatihan koding dan kecerdasan artifisial menjadi kebutuhan strategis dalam pendidikan dasar karena guru dituntut mampu membangun literasi digital, berpikir komputasional, dan pemahaman teknologi yang relevan dengan perkembangan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Studi ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pelatihan koding dan kecerdasan artifisial bagi guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bone melalui pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam. Pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan pengalaman belajar, yaitu memahami, mengaplikasikan, dan merefleksi. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi kegiatan, observasi pelaksanaan, dan catatan reflektif, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan proses penguatan pemahaman materi, implementasi kegiatan, dan refleksi peserta. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan memfasilitasi guru dalam memahami konsep dasar koding, kecerdasan artifisial, literasi digital, dan berpikir komputasional. Pada tahap implementasi, peserta diarahkan untuk mengaitkan materi dengan konteks pembelajaran sekolah dasar, sedangkan pada tahap refleksi peserta mengevaluasi kemungkinan penerapan pembelajaran koding dan KA di sekolah masing-masing. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam dapat menjadi strategi pelatihan yang relevan untuk memperkuat kompetensi awal guru dalam pembelajaran digital.
