Abstract

This research is driven by the researcher's observations concerning online hotel booking intention on the Agoda platform. The development of guest visit rates has experienced a significant decline, with fewer guests opting to check in using the Agoda platform compared to other online travel agents. This is influenced by the perceived lack of usefulness and ease of use on the Agoda website. The objective of this study is to describe and analyze the impact of usefulness and ease of use on online hotel booking intention on the Agoda platform. The research methodology employed is quantitative research using purposive sampling, with a sample size of 130 respondents determined using the Hair formula. Data collection in this study utilized a questionnaire with a Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The collected data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 27.00. Based on the research analysis, it can be concluded that the independent variables, usefulness (X1) and ease of use (X2), have a positive and significant influence on the dependent variable, which is online hotel booking intention. Usefulness (X1) and ease of use (X2) collectively account for 24.7% of the variance in online hotel booking intention (Y), while the remaining 75.3% is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of sustainable agriculture in Nagari Batu Bajanjang, focusing on efforts to maintain biodiversity and increase crop productivity. Nagari Batu Bajanjang has great potential in agricultural development. This study analyzes the transformation from a conventional agricultural system that still relies on monoculture practices and the use of chemicals, to a sustainable agricultural system. The implementation of sustainable agriculture is carried out through several main strategies, including crop diversification, the application of an agroforestry system, the use of organic fertilizers, and the development of a modern irrigation system. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of sustainable agriculture has a positive impact in three main aspects: increasing biodiversity, improving long-term land productivity, and increasing farmer income. The success of this implementation requires active collaboration between local governments, research institutions, and local farmer communities.

Abstract

Wise internet use is an important issue in today's digital age, where almost everyone, including children and adults, are connected through social media. Social media, which includes platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, allows users to share, communicate and create content. However, this rapid development also brings negative impacts, such as the spread of false information (hoaxes) and misuse of personal data. This research aims to educate high school students about the wise use of social media through an extension program at SMA Negeri 16 Padang City. The methods used were lectures and hands-on practice using information technology tools. The results of this program showed that the education provided succeeded in increasing students' awareness of the importance of wise use of social media as well as their ability to filter the information received. The conclusion of this study confirms the need for continuous education on digital literacy to minimize the negative impact of social media among adolescents.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of career development and job motivation on employee loyalty in the hospitality sector, focusing on Pangeran Beach Hotel Padang, Indonesia. A quantitative research design with a causal-associative approach was employed, using purposive sampling to collect data from 85 hotel employees. Data were obtained through a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression via IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0. Instrument validity was confirmed through Pearson’s correlation, while reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha, with all variables exceeding the 0.70 threshold. The results revealed that job motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty, whereas career development, although positively correlated, did not show a statistically significant independent effect. However, both variables jointly had a significant impact on loyalty, highlighting the synergy between long-term career planning and immediate motivational factors in strengthening workforce retention. These findings contribute to the theoretical development of employee loyalty models in emerging hospitality markets and provide practical guidance for hotel managers to prioritize motivation-enhancing strategies alongside structured career development programs

Abstract

This study examines the effects of work-life balance and work discipline on employee performance at a four-star hotel in Batam, Indonesia, using a quantitative causal-associative design with purposive sampling of 112 employees from a population of 156. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from validated hospitality and organizational behavior measures, analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 with validity testing via Pearson’s correlation, reliability via Cronbach’s alpha (≥ 0.70), and classical assumption tests including Kolmogorov–Smirnov, Variance Inflation Factor, and Glejser methods, followed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results show that both work-life balance (β = 0.657, p < 0.001) and work discipline (β = 0.309, p = 0.002) have positive and significant effects on performance, jointly explaining 53.3% of its variance (Adjusted R² = 0.533, F = 62.835, p < 0.001), with work-life balance exerting a stronger influence. These findings highlight the importance for hospitality managers in emerging tourism destinations to integrate employee well-being initiatives, such as flexible scheduling and wellness programs, with strict adherence to service standards and operational discipline, thereby contributing to the hospitality human resource management literature by providing empirical evidence from a rapidly developing tourism hub in Indonesia.

Abstract

The growth of the coffee shop industry in Indonesia has intensified competition, making customer retention essential for business sustainability. This study examines the influence of service quality and price perception on repurchase intention at Salejourn Cafe and Space Padang. A quantitative, causal–associative approach was applied, involving 130 purposively selected respondents aged at least 17 years who had visited the café within the last three months. Data were collected via a structured five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26.0. The results show that both service quality (β = 0.145, p < 0.05) and price perception (β = 0.446, p < 0.05) significantly and positively affect repurchase intention, with price perception demonstrating a stronger impact. Together, these variables explain 78.7% of the variance in repurchase intention. The findings suggest that café managers should maintain high service standards while implementing competitive, value-driven pricing to enhance loyalty. Future research should consider additional factors such as brand image and promotional strategies.

Abstract

This study analyses how work environment comfort, leadership, time management and employee engagement affect employee performance. Data was collected randomly, with any individual who met the set criteria potentially being part of the sample. The results show that the work environment has an impact on employee engagement but not on employee performance. On the other hand, leadership and time management affect employee engagement and employee performance. In addition, employee engagement itself is significantly related to employee performance. This study concludes that leadership has the greatest influence in determining employee engagement and employee performance.
