After sampling technique using a purposive sampling method, 10 Islamic banks were obtained which will be used as samples in the study. Whereas to see the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable used panel data regression analysis method. Abstract

The development of banking in a country cannot be separated from internal and external factors that can influence it. The monetary crisis in 1998 and the global financial crisis in 2008 are some examples that show that the banking sector can be affected by the surrounding economic conditions, both from within and outside the country. The purpose of this study is to determine the resilience of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia if there are shocks that occur in macroeconomics, in this case, namely inflation, exchange rates, Bank Indonesia benchmark interest rate (BI rate), SBIS yields (rSBIS) and Federal Reserve funds interest rates. (FFR). This study uses the Vector Autoregression (VAR) and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) methods. The conclusion of this study is that Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and Return on Assets (ROA) in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia tend to be more resistant to fluctuations that occur in domestic macroeconomics and FFR. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) is relatively stable in responding to a shock, while the Return on Equity (ROE) and Financing Deposit Ratio (FDR) have fluctuated in the long term in other words, they are more vulnerable to shocks and fluctuations that occur in domestic macroeconomic variables and FFR.

Abstract

Islamic banking is a financial institution based on Sharia principles. Therefore, a measurement of the performance of Islamic banking needs to be distinguished from the measurement of the performance of conventional banking. This performance is not only the performance in generating profits, but rather the performance of Islamic banks in meeting social benefits. This performance can be measured by the maqashid sharia index. The policies of each bank are different because the internal conditions of a bank are not the same and each bank also faces different macroeconomic conditions every year. This study aims to determine the effect of bank-specific factors represented by bank size and CAR and macroeconomic conditions represented by GDP, inflation and exchange rates on the Islamic maqashid index. The object of this research is Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia which consistently operate as BUS during the period 2014 to 2018. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the annual reports of each BUS, BPS statistical data and BI statistics. This research method uses descriptive quantitative with panel data regression analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that bank size, inflation and exchange rates, do not have a significant effect on the performance of Islamic Maqashid. Meanwhile, the CAR and GDP have a significant negative and positive effect on the performance of Maqashid Syariah.

Abstract

Performance evaluations in Islamic banking generally use traditional measurement tools. In fact, evaluating the performance of the Islamic banking industry cannot be the same as using traditional banking assessment tools, because Islamic banking and traditional banking have different goals and perspectives. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Turkey from 2016 to 2019 based on the concept of the Sharia law maqshid index, and to find out whether there is a difference in the value of the Sharia law maqshid index in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom And Turkey in 2016-2019. This research uses data from the financial statements and annual reports of each Islamic bank. This study is a quantitative study using descriptive research methods. Each country (Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Turkey) has as many as 3 Islamic bank samples, so the total sample of Islamic banks is 12 Islamic banks. The total observations are 48 observations over a period of 4 (four) years (2016-2019). The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to test the normality of the data and to test the hypothesis using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of this study indicate that the maqashid index value, the first sharia goal is individual education, the second goal is the establishment of justice, and the third sharia goal is the public interest in Islamic banking in Indonesia and Islamic banking in Saudi Arabia, England and Turkey does not show a significant difference.
