Abstract

Scientific writing is an essential tool for teachers to enhance professionalism, support the development of knowledge, and improve the quality of education. However, not all teachers possess adequate skills and confidence in writing scientific papers, from ideation to publication. This community service program aims to provide intensive training on effective strategies for writing scientific papers tailored for teachers. The training encompasses several stages, including identifying and developing ideas, systematic writing in accordance with scientific standards, mastering referencing and citation techniques, and strategies for selecting and submitting manuscripts to academic journals. The methods used include lectures, group discussions, simulations, and direct mentoring. This program is expected to improve teachers' skills in producing high-quality scientific papers and encourage their active participation in academic publishing. The outcomes of this activity demonstrate a significant improvement in teachers' understanding and ability to write scientific papers, as well as their enthusiasm for continuing independent writing activities. Thus, this program contributes to strengthening teachers' professional capacities and enhancing the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning media on students' self-confidence in microteaching practice. This research is based on the increasingly widespread use of AI in the learning process, particularly as a tool for teaching preparation, classroom simulations, and teaching performance evaluation. This study uses qualitative research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach to answer the research questions by describing the Microteaching learning activities and measuring the effectiveness of prospective history teachers' competencies. The results of this study indicate that the use of AI-based learning media positively contributes to increasing student self-confidence. This influence is evident in students' ability to prepare teaching materials more effectively, simulate material delivery, and receive rapid and accurate feedback on their teaching performance. Furthermore, AI helps students reduce anxiety, improve communication clarity, and build self-awareness of weaknesses and potential improvements. This study recommends more systematic integration of AI training into microteaching to support the improvement of pedagogical competence and self-confidence of prospective educators.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms, contextual meanings, communicative functions, and scientific contribution of slang used in the comment column of the TikTok account @fadiljaidi. The study employed a qualitative descriptive design with a sociolinguistic and digital discourse perspective. The data consisted of documented comment excerpts containing slang in several @fadiljaidi videos uploaded in November 2025. Data were collected through observation, documentation, screenshot archiving, and note-taking. Data analysis was conducted by reducing the corpus, coding slang units, classifying morphological forms, interpreting contextual meanings, and comparing the findings with prior studies and relevant theories. The results show that slang appears in acronyms, abbreviations, contractions, clippings, reversal forms, informal pronouns, phonological variation, and phatic expressions. The findings also reveal four dominant functions: creating intimacy, producing humor, evaluating the creator's action, and strengthening digital group identity. The study concludes that slang in TikTok comments is not merely a nonstandard language practice but a patterned form of digital vernacular creativity. The scientific contribution of this study lies in the typological-functional synthesis of TikTok slang that links word-formation processes, contextual meaning, and digital social affiliation in Indonesian sociolinguistic studies.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab keterbatasan pemahaman mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Halu Oleo dalam menulis artikel ilmiah yang sistematis, berbasis rujukan, dan berorientasi publikasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai struktur artikel ilmiah, penggunaan referensi, bahasa akademik, serta etika publikasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 23 Mei sampai 22 Juli 2025 di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Halu Oleo melalui persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan tatap muka, praktik terbimbing, diskusi, dan refleksi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Sejarah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan membantu mahasiswa memahami komponen artikel ilmiah, mulai dari judul, abstrak, pendahuluan, metode, hasil dan pembahasan, kesimpulan, hingga daftar pustaka. Mahasiswa juga lebih memahami pentingnya referensi kredibel, pencegahan plagiarisme, dan penyesuaian naskah dengan template jurnal. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menyusun draf artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi.
