Abstract

This study aims to analyze the vibration characteristics and operational stability of a control-system-based lawn mower through vibration measurements at several points on the machine structure. The tests were conducted using a vibration meter under two operating conditions: the machine powered on without blade rotation and the machine operating with the cutting blade rotating. Measurements were designed at ten structural points to identify vibration distribution and dominant vibration locations. The initial results showed that vibration at the rear frame near the battery box remained relatively unchanged between the two operating conditions. In contrast, a substantial increase in vibration was observed at the front frame near the blade shaft cover after the cutting blade was activated. This finding indicates that the cutting system is the primary source of dynamic excitation and that vibration is concentrated in structural areas located close to the shaft and blade. The different responses between the front and rear sections also indicate vibration transmission and attenuation along the machine frame. Overall, the operational stability of the machine is strongly influenced by the dynamic condition of the cutting system, particularly blade balance, shaft alignment, bearing condition, mounting stiffness, and structural joint integrity. These findings provide a technical basis for improving structural design, vibration control, operational stability, and machine reliability.
