Abstract

Shell and tube heat exchanger (STHX) merupakan jenis penukar kalor yang banyak digunakan di industri. Namun, peningkatan performa penukar kalor ini perlu dilakukan dengan cermat karena alirannya yang kompleks di dalam shell. Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger berfungsi untuk menukar energi dalam bentuk panas antara fluida yang berbeda Temperature yang dapat terjadi melalui kontak langsung maupun tidak langsung. Fluida yang bertukar energi dapat berupa energi yang fasenya sama (cair ke cair atau gas ke gas) atau dua fluida yang berbeda fasenya. Penelitian ini mengkaji peningkatan performa dalam bentuk koefisien perpindahan panas total dan efektivitas dengan melakukan variasi sudut baffle menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen. Penukar kalor diuji pada laju aliran massa 0,5; 1; 1,5; dan 2 kg/s dengan variasi sudut baffle 0°, 10°, dan 20°. Pada pengujian eksperimen maupun simulasi semakin kecil sudut baffle maka semakin besar nilai efektivitasnya dan semakin besar laju aliran massa maka semakin besar pula nilai koefisien perpindahan panas totalnya. Pada pengujian simulasi nilai efektivitas dengan sudut baffle 0° memiliki nilai maksimal 1,82% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 1607 W/m².K, 10° memiliki nilai 1,79% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 1581 W/m².K, dan 20° memiliki nilai 1,70% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 1460 W/m².K, nilai efektivitas pada pengujian eksperimen dengan sudut baffle 0° memiliki nilai maksimal 1,38% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 741,54 W/m².K, 10° memiliki nilai 1,29% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 740,56 W/m².K, dan 20° memiliki nilai 1,14% dengan nilai koefisien perpindahan panas total 739,21 W/m².K. Abstract

Stress in a mechanically loaded structure is a critical aspect that warrants thorough investigation. The impact of stress on a structure can lead to various consequences, including crack propagation and fracture. Gears play a crucial role in transmitting power and rotation between shafts, making an in-depth analysis of stress in gears essential for ensuring mechanical reliability. Previous research has predominantly focused on stress and loads in gears, utilizing mathematical and numerical methods to explore variations in parameters such as gear diameter and thickness in various vehicles and machines. However, there is a noticeable gap in the literature regarding the analysis of the effect of AISI 1020 steel material on spur gears, particularly in the context of a carding machine for silk processing. This study aims to fill this void by employing a mathematical approach to determine the flexural stress in prototype spindle gears used in a carding machine for silk processing. Through thorough analysis and mathematical calculations, the flexural stress in the prototype spindle gears of the carding machine for silk processing was determined to be 176.32 kg/mm². This research provides valuable insights into the mechanical behavior of gears under load, specifically in the context of the unique requirements of a carding machine for silk processing.

Abstract

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger (STHX) is very important for its use in the industrial world which can support the continuity and success of the entire network process. Various kinds of research have been carried out to increase the heat transfer coefficient and effectiveness of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers (STHX) both experimentally and by simulation. This research examines the increase in heat change coefficient and effectiveness of STHX with variations in baffle angles of 0°, 10°, and 20° with fluid mass flow rates of 2, 4, and 6 kg/s. As a result, STHX with a baffle angle of 0° has the largest heat change coefficient value than STHX with a baffle angle of 10° and 20° both during experiment and simulation, values ​​ranging from 4218 W/m²C and 4226 W/m²C at a baffle angle of 0° when the fluid flow rate is increased to 6 kg/s. Abstract

The distortion in the shape of the weld specimen is influenced by the uneven heat distribution during the welding process. There is also distortion in the welding modeling performed on the bracket joint. The modeling scenario of the bracket joint forms the basis for measuring the distortion results. Therefore, when we model the bracket joint, we obtain varying distortion results. There are three lines to observe the distortion effects. Lines a, b, and c are located on the X and Y axes (center), while line c is on the X and Y axes (+). Line a is on the X and Y axes (-). The test specimen that has been modeled is the result of numerical modeling, which is then used to calculate the magnitude of the distortion on the longitudinally stiffened plate test specimen. For the numerical modeling of the bracket joint, the result of scenario 1 is distortion. Meanwhile, the distortion results of the bracket joint modeling in scenarios 1 and 2 show that the distortion value obtained in scenario 2 is higher than that obtained in scenario 1. This is influenced by the order of welding lines used in the bracket joint modeling.

Abstract

Sistem pendingin memegang peran yang krusial dalam kendaraan, dimana fungsinya untuk menjaga mesin kendaraan dengan menyerap panas yang dihasilkan oleh pembakaran bahan bakar di dalam silinder mesin. Gangguan pada sistem pendingin akan terjadinya kenaikan panas yang berdampak negatif pada performa mesin. Untuk menangani hal tersebut, solusinya penggunaan oil cooler. Riset ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan oil cooler pada performa mesin kapasitas 145cc. parameter riset yang di saat pengambilan data berupa suhu oli, torsi, daya, tekanan efektif dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Hasil riset bahwa dengan penambahan oil cooler sangat efektif dimana suhu mengalami penurunan dan performa mesin stabil.

Abstract

Sepeda motor digunakan oleh manusia dalam berbagai kegiatan dengan alasan efisiensi waktu dan ekonomis. Beban pada poros as sepeda motor sangat mempengaruhi kinerja sepeda motor tersebut, sehingga perlu dilakukan analisa untuk mengetahui pembebanan yang terjadi pada poros as roda sepeda motor tersebut. Banyak sekali analisa eksperimen, simulasi, dan perhitungan matematis untuk mengetahui beban pada poros as sepeda motor, namun belum ada studi analisa dengan pendekatan perhitungan matematis pada poros as roda depan sepeda motor BEAT-FI dengan material ST 90 JIS 447–AISI 4340 dan mempertimbangkan daya maksimum sebesar 6,38 kW (8.68 PS)/7,500 rpm dan 9,01 Nm (0,92 kgf.m) untuk mengetahui beban yang ada pada poros tersebut. Hasil perhitungan matematis untuk aspek beban pada poros as roda depan sepeda motor HONDA BEAT-FI 2023 didapatkan beban puntir: 125,6 kg/cm dan beban lentur : 62,8 kg/cm.

Abstract

Mesin pencacah plastik merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk memotong plastik ukuran bersar menjadi kecil. Alat ini digerakan menggunakan motor listrik. Dalam mesin pencacah botol plastik terdapat komponen berupa poros. Poros merupakan komponen berguna untuk mentransmisikan daya putar, untuk itu beban pada poros harus dipertimbangkan dalam perancangan. Banyak studi baik eksperimen, simulasi, maupun perhitungan matematis untuk mencari nilai beban lentur suatu poros guna untuk mengetahui beban maksimum pada poros. Sehingga dilakukan analisa perhitungan beban lentur pada poros motor listrik mesin pencacah botol plastik dengan material poros ST 35–AISI 1045. Hasil perhitungan matematis analisa beban lentur poros motor listrik pada mesin pencacah botol plastik dengan material ST 35–AISI 1045 dengan nilai beban lentur sebesar : 0,20 kg/cm².

A pump is a machine that functions to move fluids by converting mechanical energy into fluid energy and pressure, transporting fluids through a piping system. Head, flow, efficiency, performance and performance are the main concerns for centrifugal pumps, these aspects can be used as benchmarks in choosing the type of pump that suits your needs. Damage to the TCU oil pump is caused by bearing damage due to lack of lubrication, shaft wear, damage to the couple and rubber couple, leaks in pipes and valves, leaks in the and pump mechanical seal. Various designs and configurations of centrifugal pumps have been carried out, both experimentally and in simulations with various configurations and variations. In short, this research will examine damage to the oil pump temperature control unit on longitudinal stretcher machines in terms of production cost losses at PT. POLYDAYAGUNA PERKASA Ungaran with a mathematical analysis approach. The research results show that the estimated loss in production costs due to damage to the TCU oil pump with within 6 months is IDR. 600,000,000,- and Rp. 120,000,000,- for pumps with mechanical seals. Estimated production cost losses for oil pumps with mechanical seals are highly recommended for use on longitudinal stretching machines because they are more efficient, but there must be further development.

Abstract

The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic transmission system is a power transmission component widely used in various industrial sectors such as manufacturing, paper, automotive, and electric power. The decision to use this transmission is made due to its ease of maintenance, affordability, and its ability to operate within various power and speed ranges. Key components of the CVT automatic transmission system include flat belts, pulleys, rollers, CVT springs, CVT clutch linings, and clutch clutches. Calculation analysis will be conducted to determine the maximum stress of the flat belt, identify the material of the flat belt, and calculate the lifespan of the flat belt using the IHR machine. The results of the calculation show that the tight side stress is 383.3639 N, the loose side stress is 64.867 N, and the belt material stress is 3.1 N/mm2. These optimal stress and material stress values are deemed suitable for use.
