Abstract

The interaction between the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) and the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) plays a crucial role in maintaining the body's homeostasis. This study aims to analyze the cooperative mechanisms between the PNS and ANS in responding to physiological changes such as blood pressure, body temperature, and digestive processes, as well as to evaluate the clinical implications and pathophysiology resulting from dysfunctions in these nervous systems. The research method employed is a qualitative descriptive approach using library research techniques. Data were collected from various scientific literatures, medical textbooks, and indexed articles in databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The analysis was conducted using content analysis and source triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings show that the coordination between the PNS and ANS is essential for effectively integrating sensory and motor impulses with the body’s autonomic responses. Disorders such as peripheral neuropathy, autonomic dysreflexia, and dysfunctions due to diabetes mellitus significantly affect an individual's physiological stability. Accurate diagnosis through technologies such as electromyography (EMG) and autonomic function tests is vital for the early management of these conditions. Furthermore, therapeutic approaches involving pharmacological combinations, neurofunctional rehabilitation, and other supportive therapies yield significant outcomes in nerve function recovery. This study concludes that a deep understanding of the interaction between the PNS and ANS is a fundamental basis for developing holistic clinical strategies to maintain neural health and enhance the overall quality of life for patients.

Abstract

Abstract

Muhammadiyah, as a modernist Islamic organization in Indonesia, has significantly contributed to transforming Javanese society since its founding in 1912 by KH Ahmad Dahlan. This article explores how Muhammadiyah addresses the complexities of local cultural dynamics through cultural adaptation and a progressive approach. Grounded in pure Islamic values, Muhammadiyah leverages positive cultural aspects, such as communal cooperation (gotong-royong), to strengthen its mission. Its strategies include modern education, religious practice reforms, and inclusivity principles, creating harmony between Javanese traditions and Islamic teachings. This study employs a descriptive-qualitative analysis with a historical approach to investigate Muhammadiyah's contributions in education, health, economic empowerment, and women's roles through Aisyiyah. The findings reveal that Muhammadiyah not only succeeded in purifying Islamic teachings but also built a more progressive, tolerant, and inclusive society. By emphasizing contextualization, Muhammadiyah created a relevant and adaptive model of Islamic propagation, establishing itself as a symbol of progressive Islam responsive to socio-cultural changes in Java

Abstract

Abstract This article examines the dialectical relationship between Muhammadiyah and Javanese culture during the early period of the organization's establishment, namely 1912–1930. This study arises from the need to understand the interaction between modern Islam and the local cultural context, while challenging the historical stigma that views Muhammadiyah as an anti-cultural puritanical movement. The novelty of this book lies in its revisionist perspective, which shows that early Muhammadiyah did not reject Javanese culture, but was inclusive and accommodating towards cultural practices that did not conflict with Islamic principles. The methodology is historical-qualitative, with an archival and literature study approach. The results show that early Muhammadiyah, led by Ahmad Dahlan and other Javanese priyayi figures, utilized language, clothing, names, and local rituals as means of da'wah, while maintaining the purity of Islamic doctrine. A shift in attitude occurred after the 1930s due to the influence of Minangkabau scholars, Wahhabi ideology, and the formation of the Majlis Tarjih, which made the organization more puritanical and Sharia-oriented. This book also highlights Muhammadiyah's contribution to the modernization of education and Javanese society, as well as its relevance to contemporary cultural da'wah ideas. Keywords: Muhammadiyah, Javanese Culture, Modern Islam, Social History, Book Review.

Abstract

The advancement of neuroscience has contributed significantly to contemporary educational discourse, particularly in understanding how the brain processes information, regulates emotions, and supports learning activities. This study aims to examine the integration of neuroscience and Islamic educational perspectives in developing holistic learning strategies. Using a qualitative approach with a library research design, this study analyzes various classical and contemporary sources related to educational neuroscience, brain-based learning, and Islamic educational thought. The findings indicate that learning is a complex neurobiological process influenced by neuroplasticity, emotional conditions, memory systems, and environmental stimulation. Neuroscientific principles such as contextual learning, multisensory instruction, active participation, and emotionally supportive environments are highly relevant for improving educational effectiveness. Furthermore, Islamic educational concepts concerning ‘aql (intellect), tafakkur (reflection), and insan kamil (holistic human development) demonstrate substantial compatibility with modern neuroscience. The study also reveals that the integration of neuroscience and Islamic values can strengthen educational practices by combining cognitive, emotional, moral, and spiritual dimensions simultaneously. Therefore, neuroscience-informed Islamic education offers a holistic and humanistic educational framework capable of producing learners who are intellectually competent, emotionally resilient, spiritually grounded, and ethically responsible. This integration is expected to contribute to the development of adaptive and transformative educational models in addressing the challenges of twenty-first-century education.
