Abstract

Abstract The coral rocks on Mount Taeno, Waringin Cap Village, Ambon, have the potential to be used as a filler for asphalt mixtures. In this research, an analysis of the use of filler material, which comes from Mount Taeno coral rocks, was carried out on the Marshall characteristics of asphalt mixtures, with a type of Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course. Asphalt mixtures are made with different asphalt contents, namely 5.0%; 5.5%; and 6.0%, and the filler content given to each mixture is 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%. Evaluation was carried out on these mixtures using the 2018 General Specifications of the Bina Marga. This research shows that the asphalt content of the mixture influences the value of the optimum filler content added to the mixture. The higher the mixed asphalt content, the higher the optimum filler content that can be added. The optimum filler content for mixtures with asphalt content of 5.0%, 5.5%, and 6.0% is 1.30%, 1.58%, and 1.79%, respectively. The asphalt content in the Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course observed in this study was limited to only 5.0%, 5.5%, and 6.0%. Therefore, further studies are recommended to be carried out, on mixtures with asphalt content higher than 6.0%, with variations in filler content greater than 3.0%. Keywords: asphalt mixture; Marshall characteristics; filler; optimum filler content Abstrak Batu karang di Gunung Taeno, Dusun Waringin Cap, Ambon, berpotensi untuk dijadikan sebagai bahan pengisi campuran beraspal. Abstract

Abstract The condition of the Banggoi-Bula Road, in Eastern Seram Regency, is experiencing sinking damage, longitu-dinal cracks, and crocodile cracks. The aim of this research is to analyze the type and level of damage, design culverts, and determine the thickness of the pavement on the Banggoi-Bula Road Section. Determining the type of damage was carried out using the Pavement Condition Index method, culvert design using hydrological analysis, while determining the thickness of flexible pavement was carried out using the Pavement Design Manual 2017 method. After reviewing the condition of the road pavement surface that occurred on the Banggoi-Bula Road Section, it was concluded that the road damage conditions observed were at a moderate to very poor level. The culverts on this road section are designed to be 1.5 m wide and 1.8 m high. From the results of the road pavement analysis, the pavement design for the Banggoi-Bula Road Section was obtained, using a flexible type of pavement, with an AC-WC surface layer thickness of 40 mm, an AC-BC layer thickness of 60 mm, and the thickness of the class A foundation layer is 400 mm. Keywords: road; road damage; Pavement Condition Index; flexible pavement; culverts Abstrak Kondisi jalan pada Ruas Jalan Banggoi-Bula di Kabupaten Seram Bagian Timur mengalami kerusakan amblas, retak memanjang, dan retak kulit buaya. Kata-kata kunci: jalan; kerusakan jalan; Pavement Condition Index; perkerasan lentur; gorong-gorong

Abstract

Roads are transportation infrsstructure that connects one area with other areas, especially in the transportation sector for the smooth flow of goods and services. Roads experience damage due to the incereasing volume and load of vehicles, especially if they are always passed by heavy vehicles that are overloaded. The Namlea - Marloso road section has a length of 19,026 km with a road width of 4.0 m. This road section has road damage to the road surface layer in the form of cracks, holes, and surface defects. Previously damaged road conditions have been repaired by patching using CPHMA. However, the planned life of the road is in fact not in accordance with what is happening in the field. The road has been damaged ± 4 months after being repaired. The aim of the research was to determine the marshall characteristics of CPHMA-type Buton asphalt mixture using rock ash as filler and to analyze the percentage of rock ash content that met the requirements for Buton CPHMA-type asphalt mixture. This study used rock ash with the addition of 4%, 8% and 12%. This test was carried out using a Marshall test kit with reference to the 2020 Bina Marga Specifications and the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The research results show that the average values obtained are density value =2.21 gr/cc, marshall stability value =1416 kg, flow velue =3.02 mm,, VMA value =18.24%, VIM value =7.72%, VFB value =63.18%, MQ value =483.02 kg/mm. marshall CPHMA characteristics with the addition of rock ash resulted in increased stability, flow, VMA and VIM values. While the values of VFB and MQ decreased. Presentation of optimum rock ash addition content =6% and meets the 2018 Bina Marga specification revision 2.
