Abstract

Sungai Brantas merupakan daerah terbuka yang mengaIir (lotic) yang berpotensi menjadi tempat buangan dari kegiatan manusia pada daerah pemukiman, perkebunan, pertanian maupun industri disekitarnya. Meninjau permasalah lingkungan saat ini di sungai Brantas yakni banyaknya industri kertas. Industri pabrik kertas ini membuang limbah yang menjadi pengaruh terhadap kehidupan plankton di sungai Brantas yakni pabrik kertas PT Adhiprima Suraprinta, PT Dayasa Aria Prima, PT Surabaya Mekabox dan PT Tjiwi Kimia. Mengingat kelimpahan plankton di suatu perairan merupakan sumber makanan penting bagi organisme lain, hal tersebut bergantung pada kualitas perairan yang ada. Parameter lingkungan yang secara langsung mempengaruhi plankton adalah suhu, salinitas, pH, oksigen terlarut (DO), TDS dan fosfat. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang plankton di limbah industri pabrik kertas dan kualitas air suhu, pH, DO, TDS, ammonia, fosfat, chlorin. Pengamatan menggunakan indeks kelimpahan, keanekaragaman dan indeks dominansi. Indeks Kelimpahan tertinggi yaitu 2200 idn/m3 dan terendah 110 idn/ m3. Indeks Keanekaragaman H’ (2,198) dan terendah (0,662) tergolong rendah. Indeks Dominansi tergolong rendah.

Abstract

The potential of the mangrove forest ecosystem along Bringsang Village, Gili Genting District, Sumenep Regency's coast has not been optimally utilized. Therefore, this community engagement has a purpose to give training how to make mangrove coffee. This engagement was conducted at the Bringsang Village Hall on October 21, 2023, with 15 participants, including local residents and village officials. The Rhizophora stylosa mangrove species is one of the important commodities that can be presented as mangrove coffee. This community engagement activity aims to increase knowledge and train the community in making mangrove coffee. The method used is the practice of making mangrove coffee and interviewing the residents of Bringsang Village, Gili Genting. The result of the activity is a procedure for processing Rhizophora stylosa mangrove fruit into coffee powder. Mangrove coffee is priced at IDR 5,000 per pack. The community and village officials were very enthusiastic about the training in making Bringsang Village's signature mangrove coffee.

Abstract

Tanjung Village is a village with quite high fisheries potential, one of them is the potential of shrimp. This potential provides fishery waste in the form of by-catch. The aim of this service is. to provide outreach, understanding and training to the community about making liquid organic fertilizer from fish waste from shrimp by-catch. The method for implementing this service is identification, socialization and training. The search results obtained types of fish from shrimp by-catch, namely juvenile demersal fish and other biota that were caught. Socialization activities were carried out by providing education which was attended by the Tanjung village community. The training activity is providing education regarding how to make liquid organic fertilizer from shrimp by-catch fish. The results of this activity will have an impact on the economic activities of the Tanjung community in the future.

Abstract

Soft-shell crabs are a type of crab harvested after molting or shedding their old shells. Soft-shell crabs are known for their high market value, both in domestic and international markets. Technological advancements in crab farming include the mangrove crab mutilation system to produce soft-shell crabs (soka). However, many communities still lack an understanding of this technology. The mutilation technology is known to provide benefits, so we conducted a community outreach program to impart knowledge about the molting process in crabs and provide training on how to mutilate crabs in Kamal Village. Additionally, in the crab farming process, there are issues related to water quality management and feeding. The outreach program also aims to provide solutions to these problems. The method employed is the Adult Learning Approach, which is carried out through participatory lectures and interactive discussions. Meanwhile, the crab mutilation training is conducted using the Demonstration and Example Method, where participants practice the crab mutilation process after receiving demonstrations from the facilitators. The molting process and the sustainability of the outreach program are continued with ongoing mentoring until desired outcomes are achieved.

Abstract

Kecamatan Pademawu Pamekasan memiliki potensi perikanan yang besar, namun potensi ini belum memberikan dampak ekonomi yang signifikan bagi nelayan dan masyarakat pesisir akibat kurangnya pemahaman dalam meningkatkan nilai jual produk hasil perikanan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dalam peningkatan kualitas dan daya saing produk perikanan melalui perbaikan kemasan dan strategi pemasaran.  Fokus utama peningkatan mencakup kualitas produk olahan (ikan kering, ikan asap, kerupuk ikan dan petis ikan), volume produksi serta perluasan pasar. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari tiga tahap: (1) identifikasi potensi UMKM melalui wawancara dan observasi; (2) sosialisasi dan pelatihan perbaikan kemasan dan pemasaran melibatkan BUMDES dan koperasi; (3) evaluasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengukur perubahan dalam produksi, pemasaran dan pendapatan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan produk perikanan Pademawu memiliki potensi pasar yang menjanjikan. Kemasan yang lebih menarik pada produk perikanan dapat meningkatkan daya tarik konsumen, memperpanjang umur simpan, serta mengurangi kerusakan produk. Pemasaran yang lebih efektif berhasil memperluas distribusi. Dampak social dan ekonomi meliputi peningkatan pendapatan nelayan dan UMKM, penguatan jejaring sosial ekonomi serta peningkatan kapasitas pengelolaan usaha perikanan yang berkelanjutan.
