Abstract

This study examines the influence of the dielectric constant of various types of materials, such as activated carbon, chicken fat, and polyester knitted fabric, on the decrease in capacitor voltage within a series resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit using a theoretical approach. Based on the research results, it is shown that to decrease the voltage value from 12 Volts to near 0 Volts, each dielectric material requires a different time in microsecond (s) or 10-6 seconds. The time required for the electric voltage of the capacitor to decrease from 12 Volts to 6 Volts (50%) for each dielectric, such as activated carbon, chicken fat, and polyester knitted fabric are 73.56 microsecond, 222.80 microsecond, and 294.93 microsecond, respectively. The decrease in voltage caused by the discharge of electric charge from a capacitor over time depends on the choice of dielectric material used. This is because the compound composition and morphological structure of the materials fibers significantly influence the dielectric constant value, which is directly proportional to the decrease in electrical voltage. Therefore, a capacitors ability to maintain a certain capacitance over a specific period is in accordance with its utilization needs in an electrical circuit.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis proyek merupakan rancangan peserta didik, perencanaan dan mengembangkan proyek dengan menghasilkan suatu karya berupa produk yang dapat diperlihatkan, dipublikasikan atau dipresentasikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa pada materi Fluida Dinamis.Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI Semester genap SMA Negeri 1 Bangun Purba  yang terdiri dari tiga kelas. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas XI-1 (sebagai kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XI-3 (sebagai kelas kontrol) yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling, yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel dari populasi dilakukan secara acak tanpa memperhatikan strata yang ada dalam populasi itu. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar dalam ranah kognitif berbentuk uraian yang terdiri dari 8 soal yang sudah divalidasi. Dari analisa data untuk kelas eksperimen yang diberi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek diperoleh rata-rata pretes 38,25 dan nilai rata-rata postes 76,33. Kelas control diperoleh rata-rata pretes 38,33 dan rata-rata postes 69,07.  Hasil penilaian di kelas eksperimen menunjukkan aktivitas dengan kategori sangat aktif. Keterampilan siswa termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik serta perubahan sikap pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji beda (uji-t) diperoleh ada pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa pada materi Fluida Dinamis di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Bangun Purba. Kesimpulan yang di dapat adalah ada pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi fluida dinamis kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Bangun Purba.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training serta peningkatannya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI Semester genap salah satu SMA di Deli Serdang yang terdiri dari tiga kelas. Sampel penelitian diambil dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI-1 (sebagai kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XI-3 (sebagai kelas kontrol) yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling, yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel dari populasi dilakukan secara acak tanpa memperhatikan strata yang ada dalam populasi.  Kemudian diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini digunakan tes essai, jumlah soal 8 item yang telah divalidkan oleh validator. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil signifikan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Limbah minyak goreng bekas dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku utama pembuatan sabun cair dengan tujuan untuk mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis dan mengkaraterisasi sifat optik sabun cair berbahan limbah minyak goreng bekas. Proses pembuatan menggunakan beberapa bahan, yaitu minyak goreng bekas, buah cengkeh, arang, Kalium Hidroksida (KOH), dan air. Bahan tersebut dilakukan pencampuran dengan berbagai tahap untuk menghasilkan sabun cair. Hasil dari pembuatan sabun cair dari minyak goreng bekas menghasilkan sampel berwarna kecoklatan, tekstur halus dan lembut, dan menghasikan busa yang banyak, tetapi tidak memunculkan aroma cengkeh. Karakterisasi sifat optik sabun cair menunjukkan bahwa sabun yang dihasilkan memiliki nilai absorbansi pada berbagai panjang gelombang yang lebih besar dibandingkan nilai absorbansi sabun cair pasaran. Energi pita celah yang dihasilkan sabun cair minyak goreng bekas lebih kecil dibandingkan sabun cair pasaran, sehingga memberikan potensi aplikasi sebagai material Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) dan berpotensi dapat terurai dengan sendirinya menggunakan reaksi fotokatalis

Abstract

The development of the 21st century is marked as the century of openness or the century of globalization, meaning that human life in the 21st century has undergone fundamental changes that are different from the order of life and characteristics in the previous century. The purpose of this service activity is to implicate the Learning Concept and Characteristics of 21st Century Students, as facilitating learning. The methods used in this service include lectures, practices, and discussions. There are several stages in this service activity, namely coordination, and analysis of needs, preparation of materials and activities, training, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as data analysis and reports. The results of this service show an increase in the understanding of teachers after participating in the socialization of Learning Concepts and Characteristics of 21st Century Students, with an average understanding categorized as very good. This Community Service Activity (PKM) assists teachers in designing learning that is interesting and according to the needs of students in the 21st century, so that teachers can become more aware of the importance of the characteristics of students in the 21st century. It is hoped that the results of this community service can become a reference for other educational institutions as well as teachers are also more familiar with the needs of educators.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum brings a paradigm of perspective in learning in education. Learning is directed towards the potential and characteristics of the learner. This approach in the curriculum is a form of preparation for the nation's successors to be able to face the real facts in the field. This study aims to examine and analyze social studies learning in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia. The method used in this writing is a literature study with a systematic review. Systematic review is used to determine the condition of various research related to social studies learning in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia. A total of 31 data taken from the Google Scholar database which has been refined with 4 stages (Identification, Screening, Eligibility, and Included). The results of this writing can be written in several points in planning social studies learning in the independent curriculum, teachers prepare relevant modules and designs to guide students to think critically and contextually, in implementation using relevant models and strategies, in assessment used at the beginning and during the learning process to achieve the goals or competencies of learning, the character of students appears through integration into planning, culture and habits and even teachers as role models, the use of relevant teaching materials and materials to develop social problem solving skills and the use of media in improving quality and increasing active and participatory abilities, in its implementation is constrained by teacher readiness, human resources, and technology use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) berbasis proyek dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa pada materi energi terbarukan. Studi dilakukan di SMA Negeri 57 Maluku Tengah, yang menghadapi dua permasalahan utama: belum optimalnya penerapan pembelajaran STEAM berbasis proyek dan rendahnya kreativitas siswa dalam memahami konsep energi terbarukan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental (one-group pretest-posttest). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kreativitas dan lembar observasi berdasarkan indikator kelancaran, fleksibilitas, orisinalitas, dan elaborasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kreativitas siswa setelah penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif, mampu mengembangkan ide orisinal, dan menunjukkan pemahaman yang lebih baik melalui kerja proyek kolaboratif. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran STEAM berbasis proyek efektif dalam mendorong keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Disarankan pendekatan ini diintegrasikan dalam kurikulum dan pelatihan guru untuk mendukung pendidikan abad ke-21.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted by lecturers from Universitas Pattimura at SMA Negeri 57 Central Maluku to introduce physics learning through a project-based STEAM approach. The focus was on renewable energy, implemented through a hands-on project of building gas-powered mini cars. Students were actively engaged in collaborative learning, which significantly enhanced their enthusiasm, creativity, and understanding of the concept of work. Evaluation showed the approach to be effective, though a longer project duration is recommended for optimal outcomes. This activity is expected to serve as a model for innovative science learning and to strengthen the partnership between universities and schools. Keywords: STEAM, Project, Higher- order thinking.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase students' understanding of renewable energy through a STEM education approach at SMA Negeri 57 Maluku Tengah. In this activity, students are invited to design and build a simple windmill model, which not only introduces basic physics concepts but also encourages their creativity and critical thinking skills. The main results of this activity show that students experienced an increase in knowledge and practical skills related to renewable energy. In addition, they also showed an increased interest in science and technology, as well as the ability to collaborate in groups. The main conclusion of this activity is that a project-based approach in STEM education is effective in developing 21st-century skills in students, as well as the importance of integrating the concept of renewable energy into the curriculum to prepare the younger generation to face environmental challenges in the future. This activity also emphasizes the need for teacher training to support the implementation of better STEM education. Thus, strengthening STEM education that focuses on renewable energy can be a strategic step in preparing students to face increasingly complex environmental challenges.

Abstract

Understanding physics concepts, especially projectile motion, among university students is still unsatisfactory. The limited use of real laboratories necessitates the need for effective learning alternatives to improve students' mastery of physics concepts. This study aims to analyze students' conceptual understanding of projectile motion using computer simulations in the form of PhET simulations. The data analysis method used is data collected using multiple-choice questions. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively by calculating test scores from students who used computer simulations. Then, scores were compared between students who used computer simulations to see improvements in concept mastery. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the level of mastery of the concept of projectile motion among students. The results showed that students who were taught with computer simulations showed significantly better scores. These findings recommend that computer simulations be used as an alternative teaching tool to help students overcome cognitive obstacles and develop their functional understanding of physics. This study implies that this research can help overcome students' difficulties in understanding complex concepts such as the law of conservation of mechanical energy.
