Abstract

PT BINMED Ecomedika Industri (BINMED) is one of the companies engaged in the manufacture of medical devices in the form of special waste bins for sharps medical waste. Since starting to be marketed in 2019 until now, BINMED products have not reached the sales target. This is because conventional and/or non-standard safety boxes such as medical plastic bags, used bottles of mineral water in packaging, and jerry cans are still being used. In addition, BINMED products have just begun to be marketed in the Jabodetabek area using free trials and discounts. However, these two methods have not been able to attract the attention of potential buyers. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the factors that influence prospective buyers to switch to using the BINMED safety box. The data collected were 72 samples using the purposive sampling technique to find the right respondents, namely prospective buyers working in the health sector. The variables used in this study include push effects (pricing, satisfaction, and trust), pull effects (attractive alternatives), and mooring effects (switching costs and subjective norms). Based on the results of data processing and analysis of research results, it was found that alternative interest had a significant effect on the intention to switch to the use of the safety box while the variables of pricing, satisfaction, trust, switching costs, subjective norms and the moderating effect of the mooring effects between push and pull effects and switching intentions did not affect switching intentions. The managerial implication that can be applied by the company is to promote on social media and cooperate with medical waste transport service providers who have collaborated with health facilities.

Abstract

Pariaman is a city in West Sumatra with many residents whose livelihoods are in the fisheries sector. Usaha Perikanan Mandiri Muaro Cinto (UPMMC) located in the Pariaman area faces challenges in managing logistics costs. This MSME has not been able to identify the components of the logistics costs of the business they run so business improvement strategies have not been formulated considering that key activities along the supply chain have not been mapped. Therefore, a logistics cost analysis was conducted for the UPMMC fish supply chain using the activity-based costing method. Several actors in the supply chain observed include suppliers, distributors, manufacturers/retailers, and customers. Based on the calculations carried out, it is known that the largest costs are in procurement activities, especially in fishing operations with a proportion of 33.15%. In addition, it is also known that shipping costs have a proportion of 32.93% or equivalent to IDR 2,143 per kg of tuna while packaging costs take a proportion of 19.98% of the total logistics costs.

Abstract

Increasingly fierce global economic competition requires countries to develop effective trade strategies. In 2023, Indonesia improved its competitiveness ranking from 44th to 34th place according to the IMD Global Competitiveness Index. However, this position is still below Malaysia (27th) and Thailand (30th). This research uses a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach to analyze competitiveness indicators such as technology, health, labor market, and financial system. SWOT analysis was used to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in Indonesia's trade strategy. Critical success factors (CSF) analysis was used to structure information needs in the management hierarchy. By considering the general and specific conditions of Indonesia's trade logistics, a trade policy and strategy can be formulated. The trade strategy obtained from SWOT and CSF analysis is: 1. Strengthening downstream trade policies, 2. Strengthening multi-sectorregulatory stakeholder cooperation, in integrated logistics and trade marketing policies, 3. Accelerating digitalization and developing a competitive logistics service ecosystem, 4. Reorganizing trade logistics systems and facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, accurate and strategic trade planning is essential to improve economic efficiency and effectiveness, as well as competitiveness in the global market.

Abstract

In this study, the main problem encountered is the calculation to determine the actual operating costs in knowing the profit or deficit experienced by Bank Sampah Eswka is still not available. The ABC method is used to identify costs based on transportation operational activities for waste collection from Bank Sampah Unit (BSU) towards Bank Sampah Induk (BSI). The results showed significant efficiency in the calculation of operational costs with a difference in internal costs with a contract value in the range of IDR 993 to IDR 8,220. Thus, the use of the ABC method helps Bank Sampah Eswka to recognize the achievement of a high level of operational efficiency, which allows them to manage waste distribution and processing at a lower cost compared to contractors. This shows that the existing internal system is effective and efficient.

Abstract

Production costs consist of components that are directly attached to the product, including direct and indirect costs. In determining production costs such as packaging costs, the usage of the traditional model is not always suitable shown by the possibility of overstated or understated conditions. This study aims to propose the implementation of the Activity-based Costing (ABC) System in calculating the cost of tea packaging and finding the differences with the traditional costing. The data used were based on the case of PTPN VII Gunung Dempo, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The results using the ABC system show that the total cost per unit for BOPF tea products is IDR 34,444.45, for Dust products is IDR 35,629.77, and for Dust II products is IDR 35,629.77. While the traditional system calculation shows that the total cost per unit for BOPF tea products is IDR 61,982.60, for Dust tea products is IDR 61,982.60, and for Dust II tea products is IDR 61,982.60. The strategy that can be applied to avoid possible losses in determining packaging costs due to incorrect cost calculations using the traditional system model is to implement Activity-based Costing.

Abstract

The city's growing population is causing an increase in traffic demand for supply, mobility, and reverse logistics areas. These are the challenges that participants in the logistics sector are facing, together with rising commodity demand for fundamental requirements. As a result, many scientists are driven to design logistics solutions to mitigate the impact of a growing population, which increases demand for logistics and supply chains, which also has an influence on the community's environment. However, thorough literature survey studies targeted at finding potential treatments for the management of supply chain disorders using bibliometric, network, and theme analyses are still few and limited. According to the findings of the investigation, the primary supply chain themes are provider logistics and reverse logistics. This research has various implications for reverse logistics in the FMCG industry. According to the research, suppliers must understand that implementing environmental activities with their clients may improve their ability to compete in the market, and the "last mile" of distribution may thus be completed by electric cars because the distances are so short that they do not present any difficulties or require elaborate human planning. Therefore, we find that employing logistics providers to manage the FMCG industry or looking at the strategies of logistics providers for renewable energy might be an intriguing future study area.

Abstract

In the healthcare sector, supply chain management is one of the most important elements since in the logistics of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, patient satisfaction is the main focus in efforts to improve service quality. One of the problems that often occurs in the optical supply chain is inventory control. The optical store is one of the microenterprises engaged in optometric health services. The enclosed supply chain is a three-echelon model, where the store is at the second level. The process of ordering lenses at the store from suppliers is not carried out based on predicted demand. The determination of the safety stock amount and the reorder point also still has a fairly low accuracy there. This is indicated by overstock and stock-out situations that still occur frequently in this company. Overstock causes the product to be damaged because it has been stored for too long and stock out causes lost sales. To solve the problem in this research, the prediction of future demand is overcome by using several time series methods, such as cyclical models, cyclical trend models, and ARIMA models. Forecasting result validation is implemented by calculating the calculation of errors using MAPE, MAD, and MSE then it was found that the forecasting model chosen to predict the demand for the lenses is a cyclical trend model. The result of the demand forecasting and safety stock size calculation with 3 service levels are used as input to determine the reorder point. After observing the condition of the company and the targets set by the company, the calculation results with a service level of 90% is the most possible to be implemented.
