Abstract

Daun Binahong (Anredera cordifolia) merupakan tumbuhan fungsional karena sebagian besar dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat. Daun binahong memiliki kandungan metabolis sekunder yaitu alkaloid flavonoid tanin dan saponin yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Metode yang di gunakan yaitu metode sumuran. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan kimia yang ada di dalam daun binahong dan daya hambat ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) sebagai antibakteri terhadap biakan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes, subjek pada penelitian ini adalah ekstrak etanol daun binahong. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah daya hambat antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun binahong. Sebagai kontrol positif yang di gunakan adalah kloramfenikol. Ekstrak diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Ekstrak etanol daun binahong yang diperoleh dibuat dalam 3 seri konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15% kemudian diujikan pada bakteri propionibacterium acnes, nilai KHM pada bakteri propionibacterium acnes yang diperoleh pada konsentrasi 5% tidak memiliki zona hambat 0 mm untuk konsentrasi 10% dengan luas zona hambat yang terbentuk sebesar 13 mm dan konsentrasi 15% dengan luas zona hambat yang terbentuk sebesar 20 mm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ekstrak etanol daun binahong memiliki daya hambat terhadap bateri Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

Determination of total flavonoid levels is calculated based on the linear regression equation based on the calibration curve of the quercetin standard solution from the reading results of the UV-Vis spectrophotometry tool. The absorbance value (ppm) is entered into the linear regression formula as the y value, while the x value is the concentration of flavonoids in the working sample solution. The results are stated in triplicate and the flavonoid content is stated with the equivalence of flavonoid standards using quercetin standard standards, qualitative and quantitative research methods to determine metabolite compounds and determination of levels using UV-vis spectrophotometry. Qualitative testing is carried out by taking a thick extract and adding reagents according to the identified compounds. Based on the results of the tests carried out, it shows that alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, triterpenoid, tannin, and saponin compounds show positive results while quinone compounds show negative results. Quantitative testing From the results of this study, the total flavonoid content of the ethanol extract of itching leaves (Laportea stimulans) was 175.961%. Based on the results of qualitative tests, it shows that the ethanol extract of itchy leaves (Laportea stimulants) positively contains several compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids, tannins, and saponins which are indicated by changes in color. Based on the results of quantitative tests, it shows that the determination of the content of 95% ethanol extract of itchy leaves (Laportea stimulants) spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 430 nm has an average total flavonoid content of 0.2999%.

Abstract

Pucuk merah (Syzygium myrtifolium, Walp.) merupakan sejenis tanaman perdu yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri karena mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder antara lain alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin dan minyak atsiri, sehingga dapat dibuat dalam bentuk sediaan farmasi yaitu krim untuk mengatasi infeksi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder dan memformulasikan sediaan krim dari ekstrak etanol daun pucuk merah (Syzygium myrtifolium, Walp.). Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental laboratorium dengan pembuatan sediaan krim menggunakan 3 variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun pucuk merah (Syzygium myrtifolium, Walp.) yaitu FI 2%, FII 4% dan FII 8%. Hasil penelitian sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun pucuk merah (Syzygium myrtifolium, Walp.) menunjukan sediaan krim yang baik dan stabil selama penyimpanan yaitu uji organoleptik untuk FI berwarna kuning pucat, FII berwarna cokelat muda dan FIII berwarna cokelat dengan tekstur krim semi padat dan wangi lavender, nilai pH krim antara 7,5 - 8, uji homogenitas ketiga formulasi menunjukan hasil yang homogen, dengan uji tipe emulsi menunjukan sediaan krim tipe emulsi minyak dalam air (O/W), uji daya lekat krim berkisar antara 5-6 detik dan uji iritasi dari ketiga formulasi tidak menimbulkan reaksi iritasi pada probandus yang diujikan.

Abstract

The rhizome of white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) has been known by the public because apart from being a cooking spice, it can also be used as medicine, one of which is to treat toothache. Control of dental and oral health problems is to use toothpaste properly and regularly. The higher the concentration of the binder (sodium CMC), the more compact the toothpaste preparation will be and the release of the active substance is less than optimal, besides that it will be difficult to apply at the time of use. On the other hand, the concentration of the binder is too low, causing the preparation to be easily crushed and disintegrate like a lotion. Variations in the concentration of different binders were made to see the physical form among the three formulations of toothpaste which had the best consistency and met the requirements. The purpose of this study was to identify the chemical content of white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) rhizome, to formulate white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) powder toothpaste with various concentrations of binders and to evaluate the preparation of white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) powdered toothpaste. This research was conducted using laboratory experimental methods. The result of this research is that white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc) rhizome powder contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and triterpenoids. White ginger rhizome powder (Zingiber officinale Rosc) can be formulated into toothpaste preparations. The toothpaste with the most physically stable consistency and fulfills the requirements is formula III (4% CMC sodium)

Abstract

. Indonesia merupakan negara yang memiliki beragam hasil alam yang melimpah, salah satunya tanaman obat. Negara Indonesia yang merupakan negara kepulauan memungkinkan setiap daerah memiliki komoditi hasil alam tersendiri. Hal ini juga mempengaruhi cara pengobatan tradisional yang berbeda pula untuk tiap - tiap daerah. Negara Indonesia dikenal karena memiliki beragam suku dengan ciri khas masing - masing. Keragaman suku ini juga membuat adanya perbedaan dari jenis warisan budaya, baik itu terkait kepercayaan, upacara, maupun pengobatan menggunakan obat tradisional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium, untuk mengetahui ekstrak ikan gabus ( Channa Striata ) terhadap proses penyembuhan luka bakar mencit ( Mus muscullus ) yang tampak mengalami perubahan. Rancangan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap ( RAL ) yaitu dengan konsentrasi K1 ( diberi aquadest ), K2 ( ekstrak ikan gabus 0.30 g / kg BB ), dan K3 ( ekstrak ikan gabus 0,50 g / kg BB ), dan K4 ( ekstrak ikan gabus 1,00 g / kg BB ). Hasil uji Homogenitas terlihat bahwa nilai sig sebesar 0,110 yang artinya sig > p.sig 0.05. sehingga dapat di simpulkan bawah varian data luka bakar adalah homogen.Berdasarkan hasil uji Anova, maka diperoleh bahwa pemberian ekstrak ikan gabus terhadap diameter luka bakar berbeda atau berpengaruh nyata sampai hari ke 10 ada berbedaan signifikan ( p < 0,05 ) antara kelompok variasi dosis dengan kontrol negatif 1,00 g / kg BB memberikan efek penyembuhan terbaik sebesar ( 2.35 % ) pada hari ke 10 jika dibandingkan dengan dosis 0,30 g / kg BB ( 2.5975 % ) dan dosis 0,50 g / kg BB ( 2.5175 % ). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukan ekstrak ikan gabus dengan dosis 1,00 g / kg BB memiliki efek penyembuhan tercepat terhadap luka bakar.

Abstract

Santigi plant (Pemphis acidula) is a plant from the Lythraceae family in the form of a dense shrub or small tree. People in Buru Regency use this plant as a daily treatment, one of which is to treat diarrhea. Santigi plant (Pemphis acidula) contains chemical compounds that function as antibacterial. Antibacteria are substances that inhibit and kill. Escherichia coli is a gram-negative bacterium that causes infection in the intestines and causes diarrhea. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the bark of santigi (Pemphis acidula) against bacteria Escherichia coli. This research is an experimental laboratory research. The study used a thick 95% ethanolic extract of santigi stem bark (Pemphis acidula), variations in extract concentration were 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%, for negative control using distilled water and for positive control using cotrimoxazole. In antibacterial testing of the ethanolic extract of the santigi stem bark (Pemphis acidula) against Escherichia coli bacteria, it showed that at concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% sensitive to inhibit bacterial growth with an inhibition zone diameter of 12.3 mm, 14.17 mm, 16.00 mm, 17.00 mm, and 17.67 mm. The negative control did not have antibacterial activity and did not have an inhibition zone diameter, positive control had an inhibition zone diameter of 39.33 mm. The results showed that the bark of santigi has an inhibitory power against the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria with a strong category.

Abstract

Sweet potato is a good food ingredient, because of its starch which has a very rich nutritional content, including high carbohydrates. Therefore, in some areas sweet potato is also used as a staple food. It also contains protein, vitamin C and is rich in vitamin A (β-carotene). β-carotene in yellow sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) can function to meet the needs of vitamin A and as an antioxidant in reducing the effects of free radicals. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in β-carotene levels in raw and boiled yellow sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Samples of yellow sweet potato were extracted by using maceration method with 95% ethanol solvent. Then a quantitative analysis was performed using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method at a wavelength of 450 nm and a linear regression equation was obtained y = 0.0237x + 0.395 and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9931 and an average level of β-carotene in raw yellow sweet potato was obtained of 1278 .23 mg/kg and boiled yellow sweet potato of 413.90 mg/kg. So from this study it can be concluded that the levels of β-carotene in raw yellow sweet potatoes are greater than boiled yellow sweet potatoes because some boiled yellow sweet potatoes have been damaged due to heat or dissolved / lost to water.

Abstract

Cat's whiskers leaf plant (Ortosiphon aristatues.) is one of the plants that is efficacious as a medicinal plant. The part of the cat's whiskers leaf plant is used, namely the leaves that contain saponin compounds, flavonoids, alkaloids and tannins. The purpose of this study was to determine the most effective inhibition produced by the ethanol extract of the leaves of the cat's whiskers (Ortosiphon aristatues.) against the growth of Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria. The benefit of this research is to increase knowledge about the antimicrobial potential of ethanol extract of cat whiskers (Ortosiphon arietatus) leaves against the growth of Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria. This research method uses the diffusion method for wells. The sample used was cat whiskers leaf extract with pure strain of Staphyloccocus aureus. Treatment with cat whiskers leaf extract, the results of the test of the inhibitory activity of the cat whiskers leaf extract showed an average difference at a concentration of 65% with a diameter of 22 mm, a concentration of 70% with a diameter of 25 mm, and a concentration of 75% with a diameter of 30 mm. Ethanol extract of cat whiskers leaves with a concentration of 65%, 70%, and 75% effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Based on observations, it was shown that the ethanolic extract of Kumis Kucing leaves gave the most effective inhibitory concentration at a concentration of 75% against Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria. with a diameter of 30 mm
