Abstract

The purpose of this study is to predict the number of traffic accident victims who died in Timor Tengah Regency with Trend Projection method and Backpropagation method, and compare the two methods based on the degree of guilt and predict the number traffic accident victims in the Timor Tengah Regency for the coming year. This research was conducted in Timor Tengah Regency where data used in this study was obtained from Police Unit in Timor Tengah Regency. The data is on the number of traffic accidents in Timor Tengah Regency from 2000 – 2013, which is obtained by a quantitative analysis with Trend Projection and Backpropagation method. The results of the data analysis predicting the number of traffic accidents victims using Trend Projection method obtained the best model which is the quadratic trend model with equation Yk = 39.786 + (3.297) X + (0.13) X2. Whereas by using back propagation method, it is obtained the optimum network that consists of 2 inputs, 3 hidden screens, and 1 output. Based on the error rates obtained, Back propagation method is better than the Trend Projection method which means that the predicting accuracy with Back propagation method is the best method to predict the number of traffic accidents victims in Timor Tengah Regency. Thus obtained predicting the numbers of traffic accident victims for the next 5 years (Years 2014-2018) respectively - are 106 person, 115 person, 115 person, 119 person and 120 person. Keywords: Trend Projection, Back propagation, Predicting.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan: (1) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, motivasi kerja guru dan komunikasi interpersonal dengan kinerja guru matematika; (2) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan kinerja guru matematika; (3) motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru matematika; (4) komunikasi interpersonal dengan kinerja guru matematika SMA di Kabupaten Ngada.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif-korelasional dengan analisis linear berganda. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh guru dan Kepala Sekolah SMA di Kabupaten Ngada dengan sampel sebanyak 50 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive stratifed sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket (r = 0,91) dan tes (r =0,76). Validitas isi dilakukan oleh ahli sebanyak dua orang dan uji coba terhadap 25 responden di Kabupaten Manggarai, estimasi reliabilitas menggunakan rumus Alpha-Cronbach.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) adanya hubungan antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah (X1), motivasi kerja guru (X2), dan komunikasi interpersonal (X3) dengan kinerja guru matematika SMA (Y), dengan korelasi sebesar 0,889 dengan model regresi Y = 59,840 + 0,084X1 + 0,377X2 + 0,799X3; (2) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah  dengan kinerja guru matematika SMA, dengan korelasi sebesar 0,746 serta korelasi murninya sebesar 0,399; (3) motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru matematika SMA, dengan korelasi sebesar 0,622 serta korelasi murninya sebesar 0,384; dan (4) komunikasi interpersonal dengan kinerja guru matematika SMA, dengan kontribusi sebesar 0,741 dan korelasi murninya sebesar 0,685.Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, motivasi kerja, komunikasi interpersonal, kinerja guru matematika The Relationship between the Principals’ Leadership, Work Motivation, and Interpersonal Communication and the Performance of High School Math Teachers’ AbstractThis study aims to clarify the: (1) principals’ leadership, work motivation, and interpersonal communication and the performance of the high school math teachers; (2) principals’ leadership and the performance of the high school math teachers; (3) teachers’ work motivation and the performance of high school math teachers; (4) interpersonal communication and the performance of the high school math teachers in Ngada District. This research is survey with approach kuantitave-correlational by using multiple linear regression analysis. The population of the study were all math teacher and principal Senior High School in Ngada District with sampel is 50 respondents. Sampel selected by using purposive stratifed sampling. While the reliability of estimation is done by using Alpha-Cronbach formula. The results show that there is (1) principals’ leadership (X1), motivation of teachers (X2), and interpersonal communication (X3) and high school math teachers’ performance (Y), with the correlation of 0.889 obtained by the regression model (Y) = 59.840 + 0.084X1 + 0.377X2 + 0.799X3; (2) the principals’ leadership and high school math teachers’ performance, with the correlation of 0.746 and pure correlations of 0.399; (3) teachers’ working motivation and high school math teachers’ performance, with the correlation of 0.622 and pure correlation of 0.348; and (4) interpersonal communication and high school math teachers’ performance, with the correlation of 0.742 and pure correlation of 0.685.Keywords: school leadership, motivation, interpersonal communication, math teacher performance.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program at SD GMIT Oepura was motivated by problems experienced by partners in terms of limited integration of technology in learning due to the low ability of teachers to master technologies that support learning. Therefore, the FKIP Undana Mathematics Education PKM team conducted training and assisted participants to a) make learning videos using the bandicam application, b) use the wordwall application to carry out learning evaluations and c) carry out the learning process online in creative ways. The outputs of this activity were a) participants were able to design learning videos using the Bandicam application, b) participants were able to design evaluations and carry out learning evaluations by utilizing Wordwall and c) participants were able to carry out online learning using complete learning videos.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect directly or indirectly between learning styles and the learning environment through independent learning on students' cumulative grade point average in the Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP Undana. The type of research is quantitative research, with the research population being all active students in the Mathematics Education Study Program. The sample taken was 95 people. The samples were based on the Slovin formula with an error of 5%. Data was collected through questionnaires regarding the learning environment, learning styles, learning independence, and GPA. The data collected was then analyzed by path analysis. From the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that 1) there is a significant direct effect between learning styles on student learning independence; 2) there is a significant direct effect between the learning environment on student learning independence; 3) there is no significant direct effect between learning styles on students' GPA; 4) there is a significant direct effect between the learning environment on the student's GPA; 5) there is a significant direct effect between learning independence on the student GPA; 6) there is a significant direct effect between learning styles through independent learning on the student's GPA; 7) there is a significant direct effect between the learning environment through independent learning on the student's GPA. Overall, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the environment and learning styles through independent learning on student GPA.

Abstract

The lack of teacher creativity to design teaching and learning activities by applying various teaching methods suitable for the characteristics of the students' subject matter, situation, or condition is one of the problems in learning. This community service aims to support educators in Noemuti District, North Central Timor Regency, in carrying out activities to compile learning tools based on field trip learning methods, carry out learning in the classroom, and write scientific articles. The plans for this activity are training and mentoring strategies. Exercise is related to planning, action, observation and evaluation, and reflection, while mentoring is carried out outside this training activity according to the needs of learners in the field. Participants in this training came from teachers in the Noemuti sub-district, including elementary, junior high, and high school teachers. The material provided in this activity is related to the field trip learning method, the preparation of learning tools based on the steps of the field trip learning method, simulation of teaching and learning activities both in the room and out of the classroom. The results achieved in this service activity where teachers with different educational backgrounds can be guided in preparing learning tools based on field trip learning methods, and implementing them in class, making scientific articles to be published. In addition, although quantitatively, this activity still does not provide maximum results, qualitatively, these teachers are helped by the learning practices carried out by the service team. They can then be used as an alternative teaching model that can be implemented in their schools.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to explore the positive impact of using historical site media in an educational context, with a focus on student character development. Training and mentoring are directed at improving teachers' skills in integrating such media into the curriculum, so that students can develop a better understanding of historical values and character. The activity method involves intensive training, mentoring, and evaluation of the impact on the success of the activity with the main target being social studies teachers in junior high schools and senior high schools in Amanuban Central District. The stages of the activity are planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The results obtained show 94.5% of teachers are very satisfied with this training activity and can provide practical guidance for teachers, schools, and related parties to more effectively integrate historical site media as a learning tool that can shape students' positive character

Abstract

The low concept understanding ability of students in class XI MIA 4 SMA Negeri 9 Kupang is the reason for researchers to conduct research. This study was conducted to describe the improvement of the ability to understand the concept of linear program in students of class XI MIA 4 SMA Negeri 9 Kupang by applying the discovery learning model assisted by interactive powerpoint media. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which refers to the Kemmis & Mc Taggart model with 4 steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection was done by observation and test. This research was conducted in class XI MIA 4 SMA Negeri 9 Kupang with 32 students. The results showed that the average result of concept understanding test at the end of cycle I was 67.5, then increased to 77.2 in cycle II. Classical concept understanding of each indicator also increased from cycle I to cycle II. The teacher activity score reached 100 in cycle I and cycle II. In addition, the student activity score also increased, namely 92.5 in cycle I and reached 100 in cycle II. Thus, it is concluded that the use of discovery learning model assisted by interactive powerpoint can improve students' concept understanding on linear program material

Abstract

This study is important to embrace cultural diversity in mathematics learning with the aim of implementing an ethnomathematics approach in mathematics learning to help embrace students' cultural diversity, improve mathematical understanding, and increase student motivation in learning mathematics. The writing method uses literature review. The literature review procedure starts by collecting data in the form of references related to the implementation of culture in mathematics learning with an emphasis on ethnomathematics in school mathematics learning, followed by analyzing these references and presenting the implications of the results of the literature review in learning activities. Analysis of the results contains a complete description of how to analyze the concept under study using an analytical approach, namely through the process of analyzing data or information by providing arguments through logical thinking and then a conclusion is drawn. The implementation of Ethnomathematics in education is an important step towards a more inclusive, relevant and culturally oriented education. It helps to embrace the cultural diversity of students, improve mathematical understanding, and increase student motivation.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of class IX students at SMP Negeri 20 Kupang on Quadratic Equations material. The aim of this research is to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class IX students at SMP Negeri 20 Kupang by applying the problem based learning model assisted by comic media (pixton) to the quadratic equation material.The research method used is Classroom Action Research Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which are carried out in 2 cycles with each cycle having 4 stages, namely: 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation; and 4) reflection. The data collection techniques in this research are observation, tests and documentation, while the data analysis is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of this research show that the percentage of classical student learning completeness in cycle I was 63.63%, increasing to 81.81% in cycle II, the value of implementing observations of teacher teaching activities in cycle I was 95%, increasing to 100% in cycle II and the value The implementation of student activities in cycle I was 85.71%, increasing to 100% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model assisted by comics (pixton) can improve the learning outcomes of class IX students at SMP Negeri 20 Kupang in the quadratic equation material.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk membantu guru-guru SD Negeri Binilaka, Desa Oeltuah, Kecamatan Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang dalam melakukan pembelajaran di kelas agar dapat membuat atau merancang dan menggunakan alat peraga sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran matematika. Kurangnya kemampuan guru-guru SD Negeri Binilaka dalam merancang media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga matematika berbasis lingkungan secara umum masih rendah, namun pada kenyataannya penggunaan media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika bagi siswa khususnya SD kelas rendah menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Penggunaan alat peraga berbasis lingkungan sangat memungkinkan siswa memahami konsep matematika akan lebih baik karena alat peraga yang digunakan berada di sekitar siswa. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah guru SD Negeri Binilaka sebanyak 11 orang dan siswa SD kelas rendah sebanyak 18 orang. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab. Selain itu dilakukan pendampingan sebanyak 3 kali, sedangkan pelatihannya sebanyak 3 kali. Secara kuantitatif hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan sebanyak 85,55% guru sangat puas dengan adanya kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan alat peraga matematika dan pendampingan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan alat peraga. Sebab, dengan pelatihan seperti ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pelajaran matematika.
