Abstract

One Day One Juz [ODOJ] is one of phenomena which emerges in Indonesian Muslim realm. This phenomenon have been getting a great appreciation proven to the great amount of the ODOJ communities [ODOJer] that spread in Indonesia and even in abroad. the main program of ODOJ is forming the habit of reciting the Qur’an and finishing it. As we know, reciting the Qur’an, before it, has been done by other Muslim communities. Both of them get inspiration from hadith teaching which reveal the exellences of the Qur’an. The uniqueness of ODOJ is capability to form the unity of Muslim and then make a movement to recite the Qur’an together concerning to a toughtfulnes of the Muslim’s affection to the Qur’an. So that, this writing tries to describe this phenomenon related to the hadith understanding. ODOJ as the religious and even social movement presents in dialectical relation among socioculturalcircumstances [include the text of hadith] and Muslim which create the wider community.

Abstract

The use of hermeneutic as one of approaches in hadith study becomes one of knowledge integration forms which is implemented in the contemporary era. The knowledge integration between hadith and hermeneutic can be found such as from a study conducted by Fatima Mernissi. The Mernissi’s concept toward the issue of gender equality has brought her to study hadith that as if support the views lowering women (misogyny). Based on that argument, this article tries to explore more descriptivelyanalytic about the form of hermeneutic hadith of Fatima Mernissi in her effort in understanding misogyny hadith. The research problems are how is Fatima Mernissi’s thought related to the Prophet’s hadith from the rising and process of its collecting?, how is Mernissi’ hermeneutic hadith form that is showed through double investigation methods? How is the description of the method application in Abu Bakrah’s riwayah about women leadership?. This study is a literature study, and its discussion is more descriptive-analytic. Based on her, method in hadith knowledge that has been shown by the classic scholars (ulama) should be completed by the development of contemporary knowledge that puts scientific aspect as the more important aspect than normative aspect. Abstract

ewline"> This article studies hadiths used in Majlisuzzikr led by Habib Abdul Hamid al-Mahdaly in Brunei Darussalam context. The object of this research islimited by investigating the recording video of the lectures on Bulūg alMarām, composed by Ibn ajar al-‘Asqalānī, that can be downloaded fromcyberspace, you tube. However, the study of hadith there has a close relationwith the government that put into effect the Islamic law (syariat). Theexistence of hadith study in this Majlis apparently is inclined to supportthe government of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. According to the Alfatihmapping of explanation (pensyarh} an), this hadith study can be classifidto the category of classical explanation with bayani reasoning. For examplerelation to hadith explaination about the Prophet’s daily activities to givepriority from right to left that said by Al-Mahdaly that is everyone thatcontradict with it will be accused as neglectful person and because of it canbe entered to the hell in the hereafter

Abstract

?Aisyah wa one of the wives of the Prophet Pbuh. who atrracted much attention. Among the Sunni, he received much praises ?for one thing- because of the breadth and depth of his knowledge, as well as the narration and mastery of his hadith which were considered to be prominent among of the other wives of the Prophet Pbuh. On the contrary, there was a group of people from Shia who instead denounced and cursed ?Aisha. Starting from this, the author was interested to explore one of the hadith books that tells how the figure of ?Aisha based on the narration of hadiths compiled by a Shia scholar , Murtad a al-?Askari. The writing of al-?Askari can be counterweight to the ?bad image? that has been given by the Shia to ?Aisha. One interesting view was also conveyed by al-?Askari is that the history of Islam ( from sending of the Prophet Pbuh. to the pledge of Yazid bin Mu?awiyah) can only be truly understood after examining the hadith narration of ummul mu?mini n, ?Aisha. This research is a literatur review. The discussion of which uses descriptive-analytical method. This paper generally tries to introduce the hadith book titled Dira>sa>t fi al-Hadi th wa al-Tari kh : Aha dith Ummul Mu?mini n ?Aisha by looking at some general aspects of the composition of the book, including writing background, content, systematic, method, examples of discussion, and also describes the advantages and disadvantages analyzed from several section of the book. Based on the results of the discussion, the author considers that al- ?Askari tried to put a description of the figure ?Aisha objectively based on the historical hadiths that originatedfrom ?Aisha and also the the other companins (sahabah) about ?Aisha and the event surrounding herself. In discussing the death of the Prophet Pbuh., al-?Askari included a variety of narration that seems contradictory about the Prophet?s death moments,?whether in the lap of ?Aisha or ?Ali?!?. Based on the tarji h method, al- ?Askari more favored the narration of hadith which said that the Prophet Pbuh had died in the lap of ?Ali because more were narrated ( four companions /sahabah). Interestingly, the source of the narration referred to byal-?Askari is almost entirely derived from a number of well-known Sunni scholars. Abstract

Abstract

This paper aims to criticize the meaning of the hadith which talks about dayyūth which is spread on social media in the perspective of qira’ah mubādalah. This study is included in the library research where the data is analyzed using qira’ah mubādalah analysis. The study begins with searching for some hadīths that contain the term dayyūth. The results of the study show that: first, the hadith regarding dayyūth is found in a number of hadith books: Sunan al-Nasa’i no. 2512; Musnad Ahmad no. 5904, 5839, and 5117; Musnad Abī Ya’lā no. 5430, al-Mustadrak ‘ala Ṣahihayn li al-Ḥākim no. 226; Muṣannaf Abī Razzāq no. 19.521; dan al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ li al-Ṭabranī with meaningful editorial and hadith quality still at the level of accepted hadith (ṣaḥīḥ). Second, in the original meaning, dayyūth is addressed to someone who has given up his family to commit an abomination. In the analysis of qira’ah mubādalah, dayyūth is not only aimed at men, but also includes women who allow their partners or family to do things that are prohibited by religion. The prohibition of becoming a dayyūth is basically a signal to always remind each other to amar ma'ruf nahi munkar in the smallest sphere of society, namely the family. Third, the results of this interpretation are therefore considered not to support the meaning of the hadith dayyūth which is spread on social media which tends to partially and literally place the blame on men as husbands or heads of families and at the same time prohibit women from appearing in public, even if it's just a photo.

Abstract

Happiness has become the main need for humans in living life. Every individual human being is willing to do various kinds of ways to achieve happiness. In the modern digital era, the perspective on happiness is transformed into a more complex one. Based on the problems that exist in the community, the writer is interested in conducting research related to happiness in the perspective of the hadith contained in the S{ah{i>h{ Bukha>ri Book. The author conducts conceptual thematic research by collecting hadiths that hint at the theme of happiness. This research includes a literature review which is analyzed descriptively-analytical using a psycho-sufistic approach. The result of this research is that there are hadiths which indicate that happiness is obtained in the Book of S{ah{i>h{ Bukha>ri no. 1274, 5933 and 5965. And from these three hadiths the author concludes that the problem of happiness in the digital era is a mere form of negligence in understanding worldly issues. This ultimately affects a person's mental health. Then from these various problems the author concludes that by increasing spirituality and also gratitude for the blessings that Allah SWT. giving to His servant is a means to true (essential) happiness.

Abstract

Abstract The societal stigma surrounding women as 'aurat' and a source of temptation persists, particularly rooted in hadith texts within the Muslim tradition. Several hadiths explicitly label women as 'aurat' and the greatest temptation for men. This article delves into the diverse interpretations of these hadiths among contemporary Muslims in Indonesia and examines their repercussions on women's access and control in the current era. This study adopts a literature review methodology and discourse analysis to explore interpretations provided by contemporary Muslim scholars. The findings reveal a range of interpretations, encompassing both textual and contextual readings. Textual interpretations concerning access and control tend to perpetuate gender bias and constrain women's opportunities amid the evolving dynamics of society. Conversely, contextual interpretations advocate for opening up women's access and control, aligning more with principles of gender justice. The research underscores the significance of addressing stigma through a contextual understanding approach to ensure gender justice and afford women complete opportunities to manage resources and realize their potential in an ever-changing society.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal Nyai Hannah’s motives in preaching the love of the Qur’an and its influence on preserving Qur’anic values in the digital sphere. Nyai Hannah is one of the female scholars and hafiẓah (female memorizer of the Qur’an) figures from the Pesantren Lirboyo who is widely known, including through social media. The study includes living Qur’an research with a qualitative-descriptive approach and uses the life history method. Data collection is done by purposive sampling through all parties encountering Nyai Hannah: santris (pesantren students), virtual students (viewers/followers) on social media, and Nyai Hannah herself. The Nyai’s role in internalizing Qur’anic messages through videos of reciting the Qur’an, inspirational quotes, and cheerful invitations spread across social media platforms such as Whatsapp, YouTube, Instagram, and even TikTok.  In her contents, she utilizes various resources -symbolic, social, and material- to optimize her preach. There is a shift in preaching motives from private to public throughout her activities. The combination of personal capacity, leadership, social relations, and technological adaptation signifies her role in preserving the values of the Qur’an in the digital era, where she accentuates inclusive and relevant approach to younger generation. Her presence emphasizes the importance of women’s role in spreading Islamic messages and shows that domestic and public activities may intertwin each other. This study is expected to accomodate studies on the performative function and living Qur’an based on digital media to be more responsive to socio-cultural dynamics and technological developments.
