Abstract

This article discusses the acculturation of Islam in the Tampung Tawar tradition and the educational values embedded within it among the Dayak Ngaju Muslim community in Parenggean Village, Kotawaringin Timur Regency, Central Kalimantan. The Tampung Tawar ritual serves as a traditional ceremony that symbolizes purification, protection, the invocation of safety, and the expression of gratitude. As Islam gradually spread among the Dayak people, this ritual experienced a transformation in its values and meanings. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings show that Islamic elements such as the recitation of Qur’anic verses, Arabic prayers, and the emphasis on purity and charity have been integrated into the performance of Tampung Tawar. The Islamic educational values contained in the ritual include religiosity, deliberation, cleanliness, and gratitude. This tradition functions as a medium for transmitting Islamic values and teachings to younger generations while at the same time preserving local cultural heritage. The study concludes that Islamic education can coexist harmoniously with local wisdom without losing the essence of its teachings.

Abstract

Globalisasi telah membawa perubahan yang signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan masyarakat, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Perkembangan teknologi informasi, mobilitas sosial yang semakin tinggi, serta interaksi budaya yang semakin luas menjadikan pendidikan tidak lagi berada dalam ruang yang statis, tetapi menjadi bagian dari dinamika perubahan sosial yang kompleks. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pendidikan dan perubahan sosial di era globalisasi serta bagaimana pendidikan berperan dalam merespons berbagai transformasi sosial yang terjadi dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan melalui analisis berbagai literatur yang relevan terkait pendidikan, globalisasi, dan teori perubahan sosial. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan memiliki peran strategis sebagai agen perubahan sosial yang mampu membentuk nilai, sikap, serta pola pikir masyarakat dalam menghadapi tantangan global. Pendidikan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana transfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen transformasi sosial yang mendorong terciptanya masyarakat yang adaptif, kritis, dan inovatif. Oleh karena itu, sistem pendidikan perlu terus beradaptasi dengan dinamika globalisasi agar mampu menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten serta memiliki kesadaran sosial yang tinggi.

Abstract

Communication and negotiation management play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive Islamic education environment within Indonesia's culturally and religiously diverse society. This study aims to critically analyze communication and negotiation strategies that are specifically applied in managing multicultural dynamics within Islamic educational settings in Indonesia. Employing a structured literature review method, the study synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journals and scholarly articles selected based on relevance to multicultural education, communication theory, and Islamic pedagogical practices. The analysis reveals key strategies including the dissemination of accurate intercultural information, stakeholder collaboration across religious and ethnic lines, and the promotion of media literacy to combat stereotypes and prevent social polarization. It also highlights contextual challenges such as socio-cultural resistance, inconsistent policy frameworks, and the influence of global narratives on Islamic identity. This article contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by offering a framework for culturally responsive communication and negotiation practices, relevant to practitioners and policymakers aiming to strengthen multicultural harmony through education in Indonesia.
