Abstract

Crustacean catches in Panmuti Beach, including white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and swimming crab, are commodities with high economic value. This certainly increases the demand for both commodities, but the fulfillment of market needs is faced with various problems. One of them is the emergence of disease by parasite infection. The purpose of this research is to identify the types and determine the prevalence of parasites that infect these Crustaceans. Parasite identification was carried out at the Kupang Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Fishery Product Safety Center. The sampling method uses purposive sampling. The samples observed were white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and swimming crab in live condition. The results obtained in the white shrimp sample contained one type of parasite, namely Chilodonella sp. with a prevalence of 20%. In swimming crab samples there is one type of parasite, Octolasmis sp. with a prevalence of 100%.  The results of this study can be used as information on product quality control and efforts to prevent and spread disease by parasites.

Abstract

Taro fronds (Colocasia esculenta) are a natural ingredient that is abundantly available with sufficient nutritional content to be used as a feed ingredient. The research aims to determine the effect of fermented taro fronds (C. esculenta) on the growth and survival rate of milkfish (Chanos chanos) which was carried out at the Oesapa Pond Hatchery Unit. Milkfish (C. chanos) were distributed to experimental units according to procedures using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments tested included Control (100% commercial feed), P1 (addition of 5% fermented taro fronds), P2 (8% addition of fermented taro fronds) and P3 (10% addition of fermented taro fronds). The results of the study showed that there had been an increase in absolute growth of 20.93 g, survival rate of 100% and a specific growth rate of 2.23% g/day. However, ANOVA showed that treatment had no significant effect on absolute weight, survival rate ratemand specific growth rate.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp cultivation that applies intensive and supra-intensive technology using high stocking density treatment and maximum feeding has negative impacts such as organic waste from leftover feed and feces which causes growth in shrimp to be disrupted. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of adding EM4 probiotics to rearing media on the growth rate of vannamei shrimp. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments, namely without administration of probiotics, with addition of probiotics in maintenance media of 1 ml/l, 3 ml/l and 5 ml/l. The parameters measured in this research were the specific growth rate during the 28 days of rearing period. The results showed that giving probiotics at a dose of 1 ml/l gave the best specific growth rate of 3.47 g%/day on the 28th day.

Abstract

Ikan tembang (Sardinella fimbriata) merupakan sumberdaya ikan pelagis kecil yang merupakan salah satu komoditas penting dalam perikanan dan salah satu sumber daya perikanan yang melimpah di perairan Indonesia, termasuk di Selat sunda, Banten. Ikan tembang ini sangat digemari masyarakat untuk dikonsumsi dengan nilai jual yang relatif terjangkau bagi semua kalangan ekonomi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui cara pengukuran morfometrik pada ikan tembang (Sardinella fimbriata). Penelitian dilaksanakan sekali dalam seminggu selama 4 minggu berturut-turut. Sampel diambil dari nelayan yang melakukan pendaratan ikan di Pelabuhan Oeba, Kupang. Parameter pengukuran morfometrik pada penelitian ini diantaranya panjang total, panjang baku, panjang pangkal ke ekor, panjang dan lebar kepala, tinggi dan lebar badan, tinggi dan panjang sirip, lebar mata, ukuran bukaan mulut, dan panjang rahang atas dan bawah. Hasil pengukuran rata-rata persentase antara panjang baku dan total panjang sebesar 67%, tinggi badan sebesar 21% dan tinggi kepala sebesar 14%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh fermentasi terhadap peningkatan kandungan protein dalam daun gamal (Gliricidia sepium) dan untuk menentukan dosis optimal penambahan tepung daun gamal yang difermentasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan bandeng (Chanos chanos). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan, yakni:  A; tanpa tepung daun gamal terfermentasi, B; ditambahkan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi sebanyak 10%, C; ditambahkan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi sebanyak 25%, dan D; ditambahkan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi sebanyak 40%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan protein dalam tepung daun gamal sebesar 22,702% meningkat menjadi 23,942% setelah difermentasi. Hasil pengukuran pertumbuhan mutlak ternyata meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya penambahan tepung daun gamal ke dalam pakannya yakni dari 8 g pada perlakuan A hingga  11 g pada perlakuan D. Semakin tinggi kandungan daun gamal dalam pakan semakin tinggi pula tingkat pertumbuhan ikan bandeng. Dosis terbaik penambahan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi untuk mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan bandeng adalah pada Perlakuan D dengan penambahan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi sebesar 40%. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman tentang potensi pemanfaatan daun gamal terfermentasi sebagai pakan ikan, khususnya untuk ikan bandeng. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan informasi yang berharga bagi industri perikanan dalam mengoptimalkan penggunaan tepung daun gamal terfermentasi untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan secara efisien dan berkelanjutan. Kata kunci : Bandeng; Gamal; Pakan

Abstract

Fish color may be enhanced by caratenoids found in yellow pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata Duch) and marigold flower flour (Tegates arecta). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of feeding comet fish (Tagetes sp.) a mixture of marigold flour (T. arecta) and yellow pumpkin (C. moschata Duch) on the amount of brightness in their color. This study used the completely randomized design (CRD) method, with a design consisting of three replications and four treatments. According to the study's findings, treatment C, which included 80 g of marigold flower flour and 20 g of pumpkin flour per kilogram of feed, produced the best results. With a 63% survival rate, Treatment C produced an absolute weight gain of 4.3 g and a brightness value of 4.00. Keywords: Marigold flowers, Carassius auratus, color quality, yellow pumpkin

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan ikan bandeng perlakukan kombinasi tepung putak hasil fermentasi dan tepung daun lamtoro hasil difermentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen dan perancangannya menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah A: fermentasi Tepung putak 25 % dan fermentasi tepung daun lamtoro 75 %; Perlakuan B: fermentasi tepung putak 50 % dan fermentasi tepung daun lamtoro 50 %; Perlakuan C: fermentasi tepung putak 75 % dan fermentasi tepung daun lamtoro 25 %; Perlakuan D: fermentasi tepung putak 100 %; perlakuan E: fermentasi tepung daun lamtoro 100 %. Perlakuan terbaik adalah  perlakuan   penggunaan kombinasi  fermentasi tepung  putak 75% dan fermentasi tepung daun lamtoro 25% dalam pakan yang memberikan pertambahan bobot mutlak  terbesar yaitu  15,96 g, pertumbuhan spesifik harian 1,83 g%/hari dan kelangsungan hidup 100%.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Tarus Village (Manikin Beach), Kupang Tengah District, Kupang Regency. The location of this research was determined by considering that the waters in Kupang Regency, especially Tarus Village (Manikin Beach). The treatments tested were the provision of different types of feed, Treatment A: Feeding snails, Treatment B: Feeding mangrove shells, Treatment C: Feeding trash fish (tembang fish), Treatment D: Feeding chicken stomachs. The parameters measured in this study were absolute weight, daily weight and survival. Based on the research and research results the provision of different feeds significantly affected growth, both weight, but did not affect survival and the best feed for growth was shown in treatment A with the use of snail feed which resulted in absolute weight growth of 29.00 g, daily growth of 0.48 g% / h. While for survival reached 100% all treatments.

Abstract

A 30-day nutritional experiment was conducted at the Aquaculture Research Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three experimental diets: (A) exclusive Tubifex sp. meal, (B) equal combination of Tubifex sp. and Chironomus sp. meals (1:1 ratio), and (C) exclusive Chironomus sp. meal, each replicated three times. Key performance indicators including skin pigmentation intensity, body weight gain, and linear growth were measured in goldfish (Carassius auratus). Statistical analysis revealed significant dietary effects (p<0.05) on all measured parameters. The blended diet (Treatment B) demonstrated superior efficacy, producing both the most vibrant coloration and maximal growth metrics among test groups. These findings suggest that balanced inclusion of both worm meals synergistically enhances ornamental quality and growth performance in this commercially valuable fish species. Abstract

Abstrak - Kamaboko adalah salah satu produk olahan dengan memanfaatkan ikan sebagai raw material. Kamaboko ikan lele dengan metode pengukusan mengandung protein sebesar 8%. Sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya peningkatan kadar protein dengan penambahan isolat protein kedelai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan isolat protein kedelai dan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi penambahan isolat protein kedelai yang menghasilkan kualitas kamaboko ikan lele terbaik. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) sederhana. Perlakuan penambahan isolat protein kedelai pada kamaboko ikan lele yaitu (6;6.5;7;7.5;8%). Perlakuan penambahan isolat protein kedelai berbeda terhadap kamaboko ikan lele memberikan pengaruh terhadap nutrisi produk. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada kosentrasi isolat protein kedelai 7,5 %. Kadar protein sebesar 12,79%, kadar air 71,27%, kadar lemak 6,61%, kadar abu 1,73%. Kata Kunci : Clarias gariepenus, Isolat Protein Kedelai, Kamaboko, Nutrisi. Abstract - Kamaboko is one of the processed products by utilizing fish as raw material. Catfish kamaboko by steaming method contains 8% protein. So it is necessary to increase the protein content by adding isolate soy protein. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of isolate soy protein and to obtain the concentration of the addition of isolate soy protein that produced the best quality of catfish kamaboko. The research method used is an experimental method using a simple completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment of adding isolate soy protein to catfish kamaboko was (6;6.5;7;7.5;8%). The addition of different isolates soy protein to catfish kamaboko had an effect on the nutrition of the product. The best treatment was obtained at the soy protein isolate concentration of 7.5%. Protein content is 12.79%, water content is 71.27%, fat content is 6.61%, ash content is 1.73%. Keywords : Clarias gariepenus, Isolat Soy Protein, Kamaboko, Nutrition.
