Abstract

The grammatical construction known as Al-Idhafah (annexation/genitive construction) refers to a syntactic relationship between two nouns, where the second noun (the mudhaf ilayh) defines or restricts the first noun (the mudhaf). However, idafah is not merely a combination of two nouns; it often carries implicit prepositional meanings, such as possession (of), origin (from), or association (about), making it essential for accurate sentence interpretation. Misunderstanding this structure may lead to errors in speaking, reading, and writing. This study explores how idafah is used and what meanings it conveys in the classical Islamic text Safinatu al-Shalah ("The Ark of Prayer") authored by Imam Abdullah bin Umar bin Yahya al-Hadrami—a well-known text in basic Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). The research aims to answer the following questions: What are the words that include idafah constructions in Safinatu al-Shalah? And what are the semantic meanings conveyed by these constructions? To achieve this, the study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. The primary data source is the book Safinatu al-Shalah, while secondary sources include grammatical references and linguistic studies. Data collection was conducted through careful reading and note-taking, and analysis was carried out descriptively. The results show that the text frequently employs idafah to convey meanings such as possession (who), origin (from), and aboutness (about). This highlights the significance of idafah as a crucial grammatical device in Arabic for precise meaning and clear communication, especially in religious and legal discourse.

The rapid development of the era has given rise to new problems that need to be solved. The Qur'an as a holy book throughout the ages can certainly provide solutions to every problem, especially those related to debt, but a comprehensive and precise interpretation is needed for every problem that exists. The purpose of this study is to discuss the meaning of "Dain" in the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir and to find out the meaning of "Dain" in the Tafsir of Al-Misbah and to reveal the similarities and differences in the meaning of "Dain" and its relevance in today's life in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 282. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library method. The results show that in carrying out debt-credit transactions, as explained in the Qur'an, first a record or writing must be made. Abstract

The pre-linguistic stage represents a crucial foundation in children’s language development, characterized by non-verbal communication such as crying, cooing, and babbling. This study addresses the problem of understanding how early non-verbal behaviors form the basis for later linguistic competence, particularly within the Indonesian context, where linguistic diversity adds complexity to language acquisition. The objective of this research is to describe the stages of pre-linguistic development in children of varying ages and to analyze the factors influencing their progress. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and interviews with parents and caregivers, followed by content analysis to identify recurring behavioral patterns. The analysis considered the frequency of communicative behaviors, the contexts in which they occurred, and the role of adult responses in shaping children’s early language skills. The findings reveal that language development among Indonesian children is influenced by overlapping factors including family environment, multilingual exposure, educational practices, and digital technology. Children raised in linguistically supportive environments exhibit faster and more effective language growth, especially in their early years. This study contributes to the understanding of early language development by highlighting both the opportunities and challenges of multilingual contexts, offering insights for educators, parents, and policymakers in fostering optimal language acquisition

Abstract

The Harry Potter series is one of the most phenomenal works of children's literature. It has attracted public attention since it was first published in 1997 and has received increasing attention as time goes by. This study is purposed to investigate whether the Harry Potter series, as one of the most successful, popular, and influential works of children’s literature, is incapable of challenging stereotypes of gender. Contrary to the popular belief that says otherwise, this study demonstrates the part when the characters of this series are continuously behaving and interacting with each other using the typical gender traits. Several scholars may claim that this series is gender equal and gives the same opportunity to both boys and girls. The author states that she has the intention of gender equality. However, as the story is being conducted, it is shown that this series is still unable to challenge gender stereotypes

Abstract

The mastery of Arabic writing skills remains a major challenge for Muslim youth, particularly in rural areas such as Pesanggar Village, Pamekasan, where Arabic learning is often limited to reading and memorization activities. Most learners can recognize and read Arabic words but struggle to express ideas coherently in written form. This mentoring program was designed to address this issue by implementing the Mubasyir Method, a direct and communicative approach emphasizing active practice, immediate feedback, and contextual learning. The main objective was to enhance participants’ ability to produce structured Arabic sentences and paragraphs while improving their confidence and motivation in writing. The study employed a qualitative-descriptive method supported by pre-test and post-test assessments, participant observations, and peer evaluations. Fifteen adolescents aged 13–18 participated in an eight-week mentoring program facilitated by Arabic instructors. The results demonstrated a 27% increase in overall writing performance, particularly in grammatical accuracy, sentence construction, and vocabulary use. Participants also showed remarkable improvement in writing fluency and self-expression, reflecting the motivational strength of interactive learning. Beyond linguistic gains, the program fostered a positive learning attitude, transforming students’ perceptions of Arabic writing from difficult to enjoyable. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on Arabic pedagogy by illustrating that the Mubasyir Method can serve as an effective framework for developing communicative and expressive writing competence in nonformal and rural educational contexts

Abstract

Arabic language learning holds a strategic value in enhancing the communicative, social, and economic competencies of Muslim communities, particularly in the Hajj and Umrah service sectors. Arabic functions not only as a means of understanding Islamic teachings but also as economic capital that contributes directly to improving the welfare and professionalism of Muslim workers. In the context of globalized religious economics, proficiency in Arabic becomes a highly valuable functional skill that opens employment opportunities in religious service sectors such as pilgrimage assistance, religious tourism, education, and translation. This is increasingly relevant as the demand for professional personnel capable of effectively communicating with pilgrims and Saudi Arabian authorities continues to grow each year. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach by examining various sources that discuss the interrelationship between language, economy, and religion. The results indicate that Arabic proficiency provides significant economic advantages, particularly for individuals working as guides, mutawwifs, translators, and other Hajj and Umrah service personnel. Beyond financial benefits, Arabic proficiency strengthens professional identity and improves the quality of pilgrim services. Moreover, need-based Arabic learning  has proven to be more effective in preparing a workforce that meets the real demands of the religious service industry. This research offers a new perspective on the urgency of need-based Arabic language learning as a strategy for human resource development that is more relevant to the dynamics of the Hajj and Umrah service industry. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions, providers of religious professional training, and policymakers in designing Arabic language curricula and training programs that are more applicative, responsive, and aligned with the needs of the global job market.
