Abstract

Children with mild intellectual disabilities are a group of children with special needs who have an intelligence level ranging from 50 to 70, and often experience difficulties in fine motor skills. One effort that can be made to train fine motor skills as well as eye-hand coordination is through the use of appropriate learning media, one of which is puzzle media. This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities through the use of puzzle media at SLB Negeri Manekat Niki-Niki, Amanuban Tengah District, South Central Timor Regency. The research uses a classroom action method with a quantitative descriptive approach based on Kurt Lewin's model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects consisted of three children, comprising two boys and one girl. The data collection technique was conducted through direct observation of students' activities during learning. The data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the percentage of achievement of fine motor indicators in each cycle. The results showed an improvement in fine motor skills in each cycle after the implementation of puzzle media. Thus, puzzle media has been proven effective in enhancing fine motor skills in mildly mentally retarded children.

The research subjects consisted of three students, two females and one male. Data were obtained through observation and early reading tests in each cycle. Data analysis was conducted by comparing the average pretest, posttest cycle I, and posttest cycle II scores to see the changes in ability at each stage. The results of the study using pictorial syllable media can improve the spelling ability of fourth-grade mild intellectual disabilities students in SLB Negeri Kota Radja. This is evidenced by the increase in scores of AA subjects in the pre-test getting a score of 45, post-test cycle I getting a score of 60 and post-test cycle II getting a score of 75. NF subjects in the pre-test getting a score of 45, post-test cycle I getting a score of 65 and post-test cycle II getting a score of 80. KN subjects in the pre-test getting a score of 50, post-test cycle I getting a score of 75 and post-test cycle II getting a score of 80. RN subjects in the pre-test getting a score of 50, post-test cycle I getting a score of 60 and post-test cycle II getting a score of 75. Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the mastery of human body part vocabulary among four mild intellectually disabled students in Class III at SLB Negeri Kota Radja Kupang, who previously experienced difficulties in recognizing, naming, pointing out, and matching this basic vocabulary. The research subjects consisted of 4 students (2 males and 2 females). The method used is descriptive quantitative Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model, which includes planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The intervention medium used was a poster medium, chosen for its ability to present information visually, simply, clearly, and to capture the attention of mild intellectually disabled children. The study was conducted in two cycles. The results of the data analysis show a significant increase. The students' average scores in the pre-action (pre-test) were in the poor and sufficient categories, then increased in Cycle I (post-test I), and reached a maximum improvement in Cycle II (post-test II) with a very good category.
