Abstract

The activities of loading andesite material from the stockpile to dump trucks at the crushing plant unit pose significant occupational accident risks, such as falling material, heavy equipment collisions, and dust from processing, necessitating a measurable implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This study aims to analyze the implementation of OHSMS with a focus on the creation and execution of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as an instrument for accident prevention during loading activities at PT Anugrah Langeng Mukti. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through field observations, interviews, and documentation to map work stages starting from unit preparation and equipment maneuvering to material loading. Based on the analysis, hazard identification indicates critical risk potentials during the loading phase and reversing maneuvers of heavy equipment, which require strict control in the form of standard operating procedures, complete personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and continuous supervision. The conclusion of this study shows that the OHSMS implementation based on JSA is functioning well but still requires optimization in regular hazard socialization for operators to minimize human error. This strategy is expected to enhance the effectiveness of labor protection and operational smoothness in the crushing plant area.

Abstract

The stability of underground mine openings depends heavily on the effectiveness of the support systems installed. tunnel sawah luwung at PT Bukit Asam Tbk Ombilin Mining Unit is a long-standing opening currently utilized as a natural laboratory and mining tourism destination. As the tunnel ages, support materials undergo degradation due to both natural and environmental factors, necessitating systematic maintenance procedures to ensure operational safety. This study aims to analyze the physical condition of existing supports, evaluate the maintenance procedures implemented in the field, and identify constraints in the maintenance process. The research method involves field observations, interviews, and literature studies regarding the standard operating procedures (SOP) for support maintenance. The results are expected to provide an overview of the level of support damage and the effectiveness of maintenance actions taken, as well as offer recommendations for procedural improvements to maintain the long-term stability of tunnel sawah luwung. These recommendations can serve as a basis for the company to evaluate and improve safety, maintain the stability of the Lubang Sawah Luwung, and ensure the sustainability of its long-term utilization.

Abstract

The drainage system is a crucial aspect of underground mining operations at PT BA UPO to keep the work area dry and safe from the threat of high water discharge that could potentially hamper production activities. This research aims to conduct a technical study of the pumping system by calculating the total water discharge entering from groundwater and rain runoff, evaluating the actual pump capacity, and determining the optimal pump head requirements. Through field observation metphods and technical data analysis, the research results indicate that the current pumping system requires optimization in operational duration and settling pond management to improve efficiency. Based on the calculation of the total dynamic head, technical parameters were obtained that can serve as a reference for the company in adjusting pump performance to maximize the discharge of accumulated water out of the mine, ensuring that underground mining operations can be maintained more effectively. The expected optimization can reduce the risk of air pollution and improve the distribution system to support the safety and continuity of underground mining operations.
