Abstract

  Bakteri udara merupakan bakteri yang tersebar dan terbawa oleh udara, yang keberadaanya membuat udara menjadi tidak sehat bagi manusia dan mahkluk hidup lainnya. Penyebaran bakteri ini instasi kesehatan dapat menyebabkan infeksi nosokomial.  UGD dan Laboratorium merupakan bagain dari ruangan di Puskesmas Waena yang rentan tercemar banyak sekali mikroorganisme, yang dapat berasal dari  sampel maupun kunjungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan kualitas bakteri udara pada ruangan UGD dan Laboratorium Puskesmas Waena tahun 2023. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini didapat dari 5 titik yang berada pada ruangan UGD maupun Laboratorium. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji statistik (Uji T). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jumlah yang paling tertinggi di UGD adalah pada hari ke-4 dengan jumlah kuman 1.771 CFU/m3, dan terendah pada hari hari ke-1 sebesar 417 CFU/m3. Untuk Laboratorium jumlah yang paling tertinggi adalah pada hari ke-6 sebesar 1.536 CFU/m3, dan terendah pada hari hari ke-3 sebesar 443 CFU/m3.Uji normalitas dan homogenitas memenuhi syarat, sehingga dapat dilakukan uji T. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pada UGD maupun laboratorium hanya hari ke-1 dan hari ke-3 yang memenuhi syarat kualitas bakteri udara menurut PERMENKES nomor 1077 tahun 2011 selama seminggu hari kerja. UGD dan laboratorium tidak memiliki perbedaan siginifikan terkait kualitas bakteri udara.

Abstract

Program eliminasi malaria memerlukan strategi holistik yang melibatkan partisipasi Masyarakat melalui pendampingan kader sebagai upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat.  pemahaman masyarakat tentang gejala malaria yang masih kurang, menunjukkan urgensi pendekatan berbasis masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memperkuat peran kader malaria melalui pendampingan home visit sebagai langkah nyata dalam mendukung program eliminasi malaria. Metode pengabmas ini melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan masyarakat di daerah endemis malaria, pelatihan kader, pendampingan home visit, simulasi peningkatan skil skrinning dan pengukuran tekanan darah. Hasilnya berfokus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kader dalam melaksanakan peran pendampingan pasien dan keluarga dengan malaria. Selain itu, masih tingginya tingkat ketidakpahaman mengenai gejala malaria menjadikan kader memiliki peranan penting dalam memperkuat kebutuhan akan intervensi berbasis komunitas. Pendampingan dilakukan dengan meningkatkan pelatihan kader, mengembangkan materi pendidikan yang relevan, dan memanfaatkan teknologi untuk memperluas jangkauan komunikasi. Pendekatan ini menghasilkan pemahaman masyarakat yang meningkat, dengan kader menjadi penyuluh yang efektif. Pembahasan hasil pengabmas menunjukkan bahwa program pendampingan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan Pencegahan malaria di tingkat rumah tangga. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya terus memperkuat peran kader sebagai jembatan antara pelayanan kesehatan dan masyarakat. Saran untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut antara lain intensifikasi program pelatihan kader, pemanfaatan teknologi yang lebih maju, dan peningkatan kerjasama dengan pihak-pihak terkait. Dengan demikian, diharapkan program Pendampingan kader dalam melakukan kunjungan ke rumah dapat menjadi model yang efektif dalam mendukung upaya pemberantasan malaria dan peningkatan kesehatan masyarakat secara keseluruhan

Abstract

Blood type is essential information in health, particularly in blood transfusion procedures and medical emergency management. However, public awareness regarding the importance of knowing one's blood type remains low. This community service activity aimed to provide education and conduct blood typing using the ABO system for participants of the healthy heart exercise held at the Papua Provincial Health Office on November 9, 2024. The activity consisted of two main stages: health education on blood types and direct blood typing using the slide method. A total of 12 participants underwent the examination, with the following distribution of blood types: type A (50%), type O (25%), and type B (16.7%). These results reflect the tendency of blood type distribution, which is also influenced by genetic, ethnic, and geographical factors. It is concluded that blood type A is the most dominant among the participants of the healthy heart exercise (50%), followed by blood type O (25%) and blood type B (16.7%).

Abstract

Malaria remains a significant public health problem in Papua. Keerom is one of the districts with a high incidence of malaria. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) in comparison to microscopic examination, the gold standard for malaria diagnosis. This descriptive analytic study involved 40 suspected malaria patients at Arso III Health Center, Skanto District, Keerom Regency, Papua. Blood samples were examined using thick blood smears, thin blood smears, and the Care Start RDT. The study employed a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. Microscopic examination identified five positive cases, corresponding to 12.5 percent, while the RDT detected nine positive cases, representing 22.5 percent of the total. The diagnostic analysis of the RDT revealed a sensitivity of 100 percent, a specificity of 88.6 percent, a positive predictive value of 55.6 percent, and a negative predictive value of 100 percent. The McNemar test showed a significant difference, p = 0.046. RDT proved reliable for excluding malaria, as no false-negative results were found. However, positive results require confirmation by microscopy or PCR to avoid misidentification and treatment errors.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and hyperuricemia pose a significant public health threat in Papua, with diabetes prevalence in Jayapura reaching 13.5% and elevated cholesterol levels at 33.9%. The lack of early detection data and limited access to healthcare services highlight the urgent need for preventive screening and health education. This activity aimed to identify metabolic risk factors blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid levels among the Papua Healthy Heart Foundation members. The implementation method included preparing calibrated equipment and conducting screening activities on November 9, 2024. Screening results were analyzed based on sex and age group. Findings revealed that 20.9% of female and 50% of male participants had abnormal glucose levels, while 40.9% of women and 50% of men presented with elevated cholesterol. The prevalence of hyperuricemia was lower among men (16.7%) than among women (41.7%). Interestingly, individuals aged over 60 demonstrated better metabolic control than younger age groups. The study concludes that adults aged 40–60 represent the highest-risk population. Therefore, targeted nutritional education and regular health monitoring are essential to reduce the burden of NCDs. These findings provide a foundational basis for designing locally tailored intervention programs.

Abstract

Malaria remains a major public health concern in Jayapura, Indonesia. Limited microscopy availability in primary healthcare facilities has increased reliance on rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for early case detection. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of two malaria RDTs, AllCheck® and Orient Gene®, using microscopy as the reference standard. A cross-sectional study was conducted at a primary healthcare center in Jayapura in December 2025, involving 49 patients with clinical symptoms suggestive of malaria. Capillary blood samples were collected for RDT testing and preparation of thick and thin blood smears. Diagnostic accuracy was assessed by calculating sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV), as well as agreement analysis using Cohen’s Kappa and McNemar test. Both RDTs demonstrated comparable diagnostic performance, with sensitivities of 93.75% (95% CI: 69.77–99.84) and specificities of 100% (95% CI: 89.42–100.00). The PPV was 100% (95% CI: 78.20–100.00), and the NPV was 97.06% (95% CI: 84.67–99.93). Agreement analysis showed almost perfect concordance between each RDT and microscopy (? = 0.953; p < 0.001). No significant difference was observed between AllCheck® and Orient Gene® results based on the McNemar test (p = 1.000). No significant association was found between diagnostic outcomes and patient sex or age group (p > 0.05). The RDTs showed good performance in detecting Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax, but reduced sensitivity for Plasmodium malariae. In conclusion, AllCheck® and Orient Gene® RDTs demonstrate strong diagnostic performance and almost perfect agreement with microscopy, supporting their suitability for malaria screening and initial diagnosis in primary healthcare settings in Jayapura. Nevertheless, microscopy remains essential for confirming non-falciparum infections and ensuring comprehensive case detection.
