It has been argued by many demographers that socio economic development with its associated fundamental changes in the role of women and the value of children is the dominant factor in the transition from high to low fertility. Research in less developed countries has found lower fertility levels in urban population compared to rural population. It was therefore assumed that the modernizing role of urbanlife helped bring about a decline infertility levels.This study in Irian Jaya, however, convincingly shows that fertility of urban women in Irian Jaya is higher than that of rural women. This differential infertility in favour of urban women in Irian Jaya appears to be real and not a result of underreporting of total live births in rural areas.The reasons for lower fertility in the rural areas in IrianJaya remain unknown, and more research is therefore needed. However, this study strongly suggests that the traditional system of swidden agricultyure in Irian Jaya, which places a highvalue on the labour input of women, may play a major role in constraining fertility in rural area of this province. On the other hand, high fertility in urban areas takes place because urbanwomen have their first birth earlier thanwomen inthe rural areas.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi; 2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan spasial terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi; 3) untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh antara kecerdasan spasial tinggi yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvnsional dan kecerdasan spasial rendah yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvensional terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pattimura Ambon, tahun akademik 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan faktorial 2 x 2. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 18 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak pada setiap kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yakni (1) tes menulis karangan deskripsi dan (2) tes DAT atau space relation untuk mengukur kecerdasan spasial. Selanjutnya teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk membuktikan hipotesis pertama dan kedua adalah uji Mann Whitney. Sedangkan hipotesis ketiga dibuktikan dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran gambar berseri lebih baik daripada metode pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi. Selain itu, hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi pada kelompok mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan tinggi tidak lebih baik daripada kelompok mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan spasial rendah. Serta terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara kecerdasan spasial tinggi yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvensional dan kecerdasan spasial rendah yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvensional terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi.

The purpose of this study 1) To determine the impact of applying metaphors on learning German. 2) To Improve and optimize the role of the teacher's metaphor in learning German. The population in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 7 Ambon, while the selected samples were students grade 10 of SMA Negeri 7 Ambon. The results of the dependent t-test calculation showed that the t-value is more than the t-table (t-value 11.30 > t-table 1.72913). The results of these calculations indicated that there was a significant difference between German learning’s outcomes before and after treatment with the application of metaphors. Thus, it can be said that application of metaphor had a positive impact and can effectively assist students in learning German and increase learning outcomes of students

This research was stimulated by the low learning outcomes of Produktive Fertigkeit subject due to students' lacked of understanding of Produktive Fertigkeit subject, and learning resources that have not utilized technology in teaching and learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Hybrid Learning Model on the learning outcomes of Produktive Fertigkeit Subject, Students of the German Language Education Study Program. This research was an experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population was students of the FKIP German Language Education Study Program with a sample of 18 students. The data obtained in the form of test scores, that is the pre-test before applying the Hybrid Learning Model and the post-test after the application of the Hybrid Learning Model. The instrument used was a written test. Data was processed using paired t test. The results showed that t-count = 12.505 at a significance level α = 0.05 which was higher than t-tab = 2.110. Thus, the results of the calculations showed that there was an influence of the Hybrid Learning Model on the learning outcomes of Produktive Fertigkeit subject. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the Hybrid Learning Model in order to improve Student Learning Outcomes.

The purpose of this virtual outreach activities at SMAN 4 Masohi, Central Maluku district, with the theme "The Importance of Learning German in the Era of Globalization." This activity drew a total of 28 participants, including 1 German teacher, 19 science students, 1 alumni who were in Germany, 3 alumni who had passed to work in Germany, 1 German Language Study Program student who had achieved, and 3 German Language Study Program lecturers. The method used in the socialization activity is interactive, namely, the presentation of material is delivered alternately by all members of the socialization team of the German Language Education Study Program by creating interactive and educative situations in the form of discussions and questions and answers. In addition to providing students with an understanding and awareness of the importance of learning German in the age of globalization.This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the students. It can be seen from the results of the answers given that this socialization activity has changed the perception of students who previously did not know what to know and increased students' insight about the importance of learning German in the era of globalization

The use of educational game-based media in general has not been implemented in schools in Ambon city. Even though in the digital era 4.0 educators are required to be able to use educational game-based media in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to provide German teachers in Ambon City at the SMA / SMK level with training on the use of technology in the learning process, one of which is the "Kahoot" Application Training as Media in Learning Process and Evaluation for German Language Teachers at SMA Negeri 6 Ambon. The community service team carries out training activities with the aim of training the use of educational game-based media in the learning process and evaluation. Community service activities are carried out through demonstration methods and direct practice in making learning media using the kahoot application. This activity was attended by German teachers in Ambon City. The end result of this service activity is the production of an educational game-based media (Kahoot) in the learning process and evaluation. This media can be used as an alternative in improving the skills of teachers in the process and evaluation of learning

Fun learning has an impact on students and lecturers. To create fun learning, it is necessary to have a game concept which contributes in learning. Gamification is not a new thing in the learning process but an important part that needs to be implemented. Receptive language skill is a subject with two language skills namely reading comprehension (Lesen) and listening comprehension (Hören). The learning process that is being carried out is quite boring because of boredom and difficulties in understanding written texts and audio texts. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the application and perceptions of students about the concept of gamification "Five Senses" its contribution in learning. The sample in this study was 12 students. The method used was descriptive qualitative with descriptive statistical data analysis techniques. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and observation sheets. The results of the study show that students are very motivated and enthusiastic in learning with this concept. In addition, learning using this concept creates a fun learning atmosphere and students are actively involved in building communication.

Media plays important role in creating enjoyable learning. It produces active, creative and interactive student attitudes. Learning German using local wisdom as a learning media aims to (1) utilize cultural richness in learning German (2) as motivation in maintaining local wisdom in one's own region (3) increase student participation in the process of learning foreign languages, especially German in the classroom. This activity involves teachers and students of SMAN 3 Tual, Southeast Maluku. The data to be obtained through instruments in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The methods used are interactive lectures and discussions. The results of the activities obtained are that students and teachers have the motivation to utilize local wisdom in their own region and open up ideas for teachers in developing German language learning in the classroom by utilizing the available local wisdom.

The use of a good learning model is instrumental in creating enjoyable learning. Fun learning can produce active, creative and interactive student attitudes. German language learning based on local wisdom using experiental learning model aims to (1) measure the extent of the contribution of experiental learning model in German language learning (2) measure students' knowledge about local wisdom in their own area (3) increase students' participation in the German language learning process in class. This research is a descriptive qualitative research type. The samples used in this study were students of class XI of SMAN 3 Tual, Southeast Maluku. Data were obtained through instruments such as questionnaires, interviews and worksheets. First, students were given a questionnaire before the research which contained statements about the situation of German language learning, including experiental learning components and local wisdom; second, the researcher analyzed the problems encountered in the learning process through the results of student questionnaires; third, students were given an experiental learning model by incorporating local wisdom in the German language learning process; Fourth, students are given worksheets that are done in groups and present the results of work using the station lernen method; Fifth, students are given a questionnaire after the implementation of the experiental learning model; Sixth, data processing is carried out to see the results of the implementation of experiental learning models based on local wisdom in German language learning; and seventh, drawing conclusions on the results of data processing. The results obtained from this study are by applying experiental learning in German language learning, it can contribute to students in the learning process. Students are actively involved and share experiences based on what they get and experience

This research aims to evaluate the assessment system for German language learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum in the West Seram and Central Maluku regions. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate a contradiction where 65% of teachers perceive the current assessment quality as inadequate, yet the same percentage also believe it meets educational needs, highlighting a disparity between perception and practice. The study recommends adopting a more comprehensive, competency-based assessment model to better align with the Merdeka Curriculum. The current assessments are predominantly focused on cognitive aspects, lacking integration of speaking and listening skills. This study identifies challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, including limited resources and varying teacher understanding. Proposed recommendations include the adoption of a more comprehensive competency-based assessment system, authentic assessments, performance rubrics, and portfolios to document student progress. It is hoped that the results of this research will enhance the quality of German language learning and effectively support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.
