Abstract

Ideally, as Muslims, Generation Z should be able to control their consumptive behavior in purchasing virtual game items through an understanding of religious values and Islamic financial literacy. However, in reality, impulsive behavior in game microtransactions is still prevalent among them. This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and Islamic financial literacy on impulsive buying among Muslim Generation Z in Surabaya. This article is categorized as field research with a quantitative approach. The methodology used is an associative quantitative method, which seeks to analyze the relationship between variables. The results of the study conclude that religiosity has a negative effect on impulsive buying, whereas Islamic financial literacy has a positive effect. This indicates that despite having a high understanding of Islamic financial principles, the weak application in daily life leads to continued consumptive behavior.

Abstract

This study explores the role of technology in halal certification using bibliometric analysis. Based on 88 articles from the Scopus database (2014–2024), the research employs tools like Publish or Perish (PoP), Microsoft Excel, and VOSviewer to reveal the intellectual framework of relevant literature. The finding indicates a steady increase in manuscript productivity from 2014-2024 despite a declining citation trend. Journal of Islamic Marketing, Mohd Zabiedy Mohd Sulaiman, Malaysia, and the National Defence of Malaysia emerged as most prolific journal, author, country, and institution that produce the most, respectively, in publishing on the topic. The paper that has influenced other research the most is Rejeb et al.’s integrating the IoT in the halal food supply chain: a systematic literature review and research agenda. Five significant keyword clusters that frequently show up in the 88 articles examined in this study are halal supply chain, consumer behavior towards halal foods, the role of blockchain in the halal industry, the role of information technology in halal cosmetics, and halal logo in food products. This study highlights the increasing integration of technology in halal certification, emphasizing the need for continuous innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and alignment with industry demands to maintain relevance. Additionally, it underscores Malaysia’s leadership in this field while noting the global expansion of halal research, the impact of emerging technologies like blockchain and IoT, and the need for stronger institutional collaboration to enhance transparency, traceability, and market growth.

Abstract

This study explores the factors influencing interest in halal certification, focusing on certification fees, government involvement, and the certification process, particularly for halal MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). A survey of 65 respondents from businesses in Indonesia and Malaysia was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0, a tool for Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that certification fees (p-value = 0.226) and government involvement (p-value = 0.966) do not significantly affect interest, while the certification process (p-value = 0.009) has a significant impact. These findings suggest that simplifying the certification procedure could increase participation, especially for MSMEs facing challenges related to cost and understanding the process. The study’s practical implication is that certification bodies should prioritize simplifying the process to encourage more MSMEs to pursue halal certification. This research provides valuable insights for academic research, industry practices, and MSME empowerment.

Abstract

The low level of wealth distribution literacy based on mawaris principles among urban Muslim families has the potential to generate injustice and conflict within households. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding and awareness of urban Muslim families regarding the importance of applying mawaris principles in family wealth distribution. The activity was conducted at the PKK Women’s Community of Wiyung Brantas Permai on April 19, 2025, involving 23 participants. An educative and participatory approach was employed through interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of the basic concepts and mechanisms of mawaris, accompanied by changes in attitudes and awareness toward planning family wealth distribution in accordance with Islamic principles. The activity also received positive responses from participants and has the potential to generate sustainable impact through the strategic role of women within the family. Thus, this community service initiative contributes to strengthening Islamic financial literacy and promoting equitable wealth distribution in urban Muslim communities.

Abstract

The development of rahn financing at Sharia Pawnshops in Indonesia cannot be separated from the dynamics of macroeconomic conditions that continue to change. Macroeconomic instability, such as inflation, BI-Rate, and exchange rates, has the potential to affect the performance and distribution of rahn financing. This condition became more pronounced during the 2020–2025 period, which was characterized by an economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic recovery, thus necessitating empirical investigation. This study aims to analyze the effects of inflation, BI-Rate, and exchange rates on the distribution of rahn financing at Sharia Pawnshop in Indonesia, both in the short run and the long run. The analytical method employed in this study is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) using time series data. The analysis stages include stationarity tests, optimal lag determination, cointegration tests, VAR/VECM estimation, as well as Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Variance Decomposition (VD) analyses to examine the dynamic relationships among variables. The results indicate that inflation does not have a significant effect on rahn financing. The BI-Rate has a significant and negative effect on rahn financing, suggesting that increases in the benchmark interest rate tend to suppress the distribution of rahn financing. Meanwhile, the exchange rate does not have a significant effect in the short run but shows a significant and positive effect in the long run. These findings indicate that rahn financing is relatively stable against inflationary pressures but is sensitive to changes in the BI-Rate and exchange rate conditions in the long term. This study is expected to provide empirical references for the management of Syariah Pahwnshop and regulators in formulating financing policies that are more adaptive and responsive to macroeconomic dynamics, particularly in maintaining the stability and sustainability of rahn financing in Indonesia.
