Abstract

Pandemi covid membatasi kegiatan tatap muka secara langsung termasuk pelaksanaan promosi kesehatan di rumah sakit. Maka dari itu, Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Dr. Mohammad Hoesin (RSMH) Palembang memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram @rsmhpromkes agar tetap menjangkau masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana strategi promosi kesehatan RSMH melalui Instagram sehingga dapat menyampaikan informasi kepada pasien, keluarga pasien hingga masyarakat luas. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dengan Instalasi Promosi Kesehatan RSMH dan followers @rsmhpromkes dilengkapi dengan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi layanan kesehatan, perubahan jadwal dokter, seminar daring serta edukasi kesehatan yang menjangkau pasien di luar kota. RSMH rutin mengunggah informasi tentang layanan rumah sakit yang terhubung ke website resmi dan menyelenggarakan penyuluhan kesehatan secara hybrid dan online. Selain itu, aktivitas media sosial juga melibatkan pembuatan konten video informatif, konten dance yang berisi informasi layanan serta kolaborasi dengan media TV dan radio. Namun, peneliti menemukan bahwa konten edukasi seperti infografik, poster dan video kesehatan masih jarang diunggah. Sehingga konten tersebut perlu diperbanyak lagi agar informasi kesehatan dapat diakses di media sosial tanpa bergantung pada acara tertentu. Selain itu, minimnya sumber daya manusia menjadi tantangan utama dalam pengelolaan konten secara konsisten. Peneliti merekomendasikan optimalisasi konten edukatif di Instagram dan penguatan kapasitas tim promosi kesehatan. Riset selanjutnya dapat membandingkan efektivitas promosi kesehatan antara rumah sakit pemerintah dan swasta di Palembang dan mengevaluasi media sosial mana yang paling efektif digunakan dalam promosi kesehatan.

Abstract

Gender equality still needs to be upheld in Indonesia, considering that the country's Gender Equality Index for 2021 is only 111 and its implementation has not been impactful. The ancient belief that men are taller than women is biased. Therefore, there should be a greater emphasis on understanding and implementing gender equality regulations within the community, especially through the media utilization. This research aims to describe the role of Instagram in voicing gender equality through the @magdaleneid account. The qualitative method used is a critical paradigm that analyzes crisis discourse obtained from the @magdalne.id account. The analysis process employs Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis at the levels of words, sentences, and discourse. The study results show  results two dominant types of content published on the account: education and support for the progressive feminist movement that aims to achieve gender equality for women. The language used in this content shows affection for women, promotes appropriate education, and encourages the voicing of gender equality. The discourse level applied involves using of colors, characters, and animations that align with the message.

Abstract

The fashion industry often relies on tokenism or “pity narratives” when representing persons with disabilities, which limits their potential and perpetuates marginalization. This qualitative study addresses this critical gap by analyzing the strategy of Layak Indonesia, a local fashion brand that places the empowerment of persons with disabilities at the core of its mission, thereby challenging conventional industry norms. This research contributes by offering an empirical model of authentic and holistic inclusive branding within the Southeast Asian context, moving beyond purely theoretical discussions of social justice and woke-washing. Guided by a constructivist paradigm and employing a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the founder and talents of Layak Indonesia, complemented by observational analysis of documents and media narratives. Data analysis utilized Categorical Aggregation, as proposed by Stake, which involves the systematic collection of events to interpret and construct meaning. The findings reveal that Layak Indonesia implements a holistic and structural strategy by prioritizing persons with disabilities as operational staff and creative partners, while explicitly rejecting the inspiration porn narrative. This approach effectively reframes disability identity in the public sphere, transforming individuals from objects of sympathy into professional, creative, and empowered subjects. As a result, the strategy contributes to increased self-confidence and expanded career opportunities for persons with disabilities. However, the study also identifies a significant “say–do gap” among consumers, wherein high levels of brand awareness and moral support do not consistently translate into purchasing behavior, largely due to price sensitivity and competition related to product quality. In conclusion, Layak Indonesia’s model provides a robust framework for authentic brand activism. Nevertheless, its long-term sustainability depends on the ability to balance strong social values with competitive business strategies within the highly demanding fashion market.

Abstract

Background: The low level of disability education is currently a public concern. One way to improve it is to provide financial assistance in education. Seeing this phenomenon, the ministries established two special scholarships for people with disabilities: the ADik scholarship, administered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), and the LPDP Affirmation Scholarship, administered by the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). These scholarships can be accessed through the websites of both ministries. However, to target these scholarships effectively, the government’s public relations (PR) must ensure the website meets the technological and information needs of people with disabilities. Accommodating this information and technology is a form of good e-government. Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the accessibility of scholarship websites for people with disabilities by analyzing accessibility components using four assessment tools: SiteAnalyzer, AEL Data, Accessibility Cloud, and Silktide Accessibility Checker. It explains how well these government websites comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and whether they adequately support users with disabilities in accessing scholarship information. Result: Based on the analysis of the four tools, neither scholarship website is fully accessible, showing significant WCAG violations. The SiteAnalyzer classified both as “unsafe,” while Silktide found 394 violations on LPDP and 152 on ADik across WCAG Levels A, AA, and AAA. These extensive failures to meet accessibility criteria indicate a deficit in the Digital Public Relations function, specifically in upholding the principles of communication accountability and transparency toward the disability public. Implication: Technology and information that are not properly accommodated compromise the scholarship’s objective and hinder the right to equal access for persons with disabilities. This highlights the urgent necessity for PR professionals to take a strategic role in advocating for and prioritizing comprehensive WCAG implementation to mitigate institutional risk, build trust, and ensure inclusive public service delivery.

Abstract

Coastal areas are characterized by economic vulnerability due to their strong dependence on natural conditions and seasonal sectors such as fisheries and tourism. Fishermen’s wives play a crucial role in sustaining the economic resilience of coastal households. This study aims to analyze the strengths and challenges of fishermen’s wives’ roles in household economic activities in Batu Karas Village, Pangandaran Regency. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using qualitative SWOT analysis. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving village officials, management of the Mina Rasa Village Cooperative, fishing communities, and fishermen’s wives engaged in economic activities. The findings reveal that fishermen’s wives contribute significantly to the distribution of fishery products, the development of micro-scale businesses, and the diversification of household income sources. Revealed strengths include role flexibility and strong social capital within women’s coastal communities. However, these contributions are constrained by limited financial literacy, business management skills, and restricted access to decision-making processes within formal economic institutions. Meanwhile, the recovery of the coastal tourism sector presents opportunities for the development of value-added fishery products and creative coastal enterprises. This study underscores the importance of strengthening capacity building and institutional integration of fishermen’s wives within coastal economic governance to enhance the long-term economic resilience of fishermen’s households.

Abstract

Literasi dan partisipasi politik merupakan elemen penting dalam demokrasi, namun komunitas petani dan nelayan sering kali menghadapi kesenjangan informasi yang signifikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peran strategi komunikasi politik dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik petani dan nelayan di Kabupaten Pangandaran menjelang Pemilu 2024, yang merupakan bagian dari upaya pemberdayaan komunitas marjinal.Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilakukan dengan metode pendekatan partisipatif, termasuk kegiatan sosialisasi yang interaktif, forum diskusi yang mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur tingkat peningkatan pemahaman. Peserta yang terlibat terdiri dari petani dan nelayan yang menjadi kelompok sasaran utama. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan sosialisasi komunikasi politik yang inovatif berhasil menciptakan ruang dialog yang kondusif. Sementara itu, pendidikan politik berbasis komunitas terbukti efektif dalam memberdayakan kelompok sasaran dengan meningkatkan literasi politik mereka dan memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang hak dan kewajiban politik. Kombinasi pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman politik, tetapi juga memperkuat partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam demokrasi. Partisipasi ini berpotensi menciptakan perubahan signifikan dalam cara komunitas marjinal terlibat dalam proses politik, sekaligus mendukung kualitas demokrasi lokal yang lebih inklusif dan berkeadilan.   Kata Kunci: Literasi Politik, Partisipasi Politik, Komunikasi Politik, Pendidikan Komunitas, Pemilu 2024   ABSTRACT Political literacy and participation are essential elements of democracy. However, farmer and fisher communities often face significant information gaps. This article aims to elucidate the role of political communication strategies in enhancing political participation among farmers and fishers in Pangandaran Regency ahead of the 2024 Elections, as part of efforts to empower marginalized communities.This Community Service (PkM) program was conducted using a participatory approach, encompassing interactive socialization activities, discussion forums that encouraged active participant engagement, and evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests to measure levels of understanding improvement. Participants consisted of farmers and fishers as the primary target groups. The findings indicate that innovative political communication socialization successfully created a conducive dialogue space. Furthermore, community-based political education proved effective in empowering the target groups by enhancing their political literacy and providing a deeper understanding of political rights and responsibilities. The integration of these approaches not only improved political understanding but also strengthened active community participation in democracy. This participation has the potential to drive significant changes in how marginalized communities engage in political processes, while simultaneously supporting a more inclusive and equitable quality of local democracy.   Keywords: Political Literacy, Political Participation, Political Communication, Community Education, 2024 Elections
