Abstract

In the contemporary era of globalization, Islamic education faces the critical challenge of preserving its distinct identity while effectively adapting to modern demands. This study addresses this challenge by analyzing the integration of Qur'anic values within Sunan Drajat's Pepali Pitu teachings and evaluating their relevance as a local Islamic heritage for Islamic education management. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach based on library research, the study utilized primary data from Pepali Pitu quotations and Qur'anic verses, supplemented by secondary literature on Islamic education, local wisdom, and value-based management. Findings reveal that the seven moral maxims of Pepali Pitu, encompassing social, spiritual, and ethical values, are substantively aligned with Qur'anic principles. These principles are demonstrated to serve as a foundational value system for managing Islamic educational institutions, particularly in shaping leadership models grounded in spirituality, social responsibility, and managerial ethics. The study underscores that local wisdom, exemplified by Pepali Pitu, need not be abandoned amidst global shifts; instead, it offers a strategic framework for developing Islamic education systems that are both deeply rooted in identity and adaptable to contemporary challenges. This integration provides a pathway to preserving traditional roots while ensuring global relevance.

Abstract

Background: Islamic education has long served as the foundation for shaping character and civilization, but institutional quality often lags behind rapid quantitative growth. Specific Background: Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) are frequently treated as administrative tools, detached from the spiritual values inherent in Islamic education. Knowledge Gap: Few studies have integrated modern management approaches with Islamic ethical principles to build a comprehensive conceptual framework for M&E in Islamic educational settings. Aim: This study explores a value-based M&E model in Madrasah Aliyah Diponegoro Yogyakarta, examining its role in institutional governance. Results: The findings show that M&E functions as a reflective and participatory mechanism that aligns modern quality management with Islamic ethics, strengthens moral identity, and supports sustainable governance. Novelty: This research proposes a synthesized model that bridges technical evaluation methods and spiritual values, positioning M&E as a strategic governance tool rather than a bureaucratic requirement. Implications: The model offers theoretical and practical contributions for policymakers and Islamic educational institutions aiming to establish value-integrated, participatory, and sustainable governance systems. Highlight Value-based monitoring and evaluation integrates modern management and Islamic ethics. Participatory approaches strengthen institutional identity and governance sustainability. The model provides a conceptual and practical reference for Islamic education reform. Keywords Monitoring And Evaluation, Islamic Education Management, Quality Management, Spiritual Values, Madrasah

Abstract

This article formulates a model of child education management in Muslim families based on Islamic values using the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) framework. Employing a library research method, the study reviews the Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic literature. The findings indicate that child education management can be structured into four main stages: planning, which emphasizes instilling tauhid from an early age (QS. Luqman: 13); organizing, through role distribution and family responsibilities in accordance with the principle of qawwam (QS. An-Nisa: 34); actuating, realized through role modeling, advice, worship practices, and moral education (QS. Luqman: 14–17); and controlling, which emphasizes fair reward and punishment (QS. Az-Zalzalah: 7–8). This model integrates modern management theory with Islamic teachings and provides a practical guide for Muslim families to nurture children who are faithful, virtuous, and responsible.
