Abstract

School management is a school management in accordance with the vision and mission that has been determined. School management has a very important role in improving the quality and achievement of schools, so this study aims to: 1) find out the implementation of school management carried out; 2) knowing the role of school management in improving school quality and achievement; 3) knowing the problems faced by school management in improving school quality and achievement. Success in education can be measured from various aspects. Starting from the quality of students, the quality of educators, the atmosphere of the school environment, to the school administration system. However, the main factor that most influences the dynamics of education in schools is the leader who is responsible for the running of the education sector, in this case the principal. The principal is a manager who manages all educational activities in the school. Starting from academic activities, non-academic activities, even to professional guidance for educators. The professionalism of a teacher in teaching does not only depend on the principal, but the role of the principal in guiding teacher professionalism cannot be underestimated. The principal as the leader must be responsible for the professionalism of teachers so that teaching and learning activities in schools can run smoothly. This paper is the result of a research conducted by the author to observe the role of principal management in improving teacher professionalism at MTS Ali Imran.

Abstract

Street children are essentially victims and phenomena that arise as a side effect of mistakes or inaccuracies in the selection of a development model that has so far placed too much emphasis on growth aspects and regional development bias which has been too concentrated in big cities. The city of Medan, like other big cities in Indonesia, faces the problem of many street children. According to the Raperda for Child Protection, the Medan Government that the number of street children in 2022 will reach 550 souls. Seeing the increasing number of street children in the city of Medan and the many factors that cause them to become street children, the purpose of this research is to find out the background of street children choosing to work on the streets, the social relations of street children and the physical health of street children. The method used is descriptive research, quantitative meaning this research describes a situation according to events as they are that can be interviewed, observed and studied documentation. Quantitative descriptive method is defined as a research method in the form of a description with numbers. From several locations in Medan City that were used as places for children to make money in this study, there were three points used as research locations, namely Pasar Raya MMTC, Terminal Aksara and Alfamidi in Medan City. The results showed that poverty, parental encouragement, social environment, low education and wanting to have their own money were the factors behind street children in Medan City. By working as street children, the social relations of street children are closed, they don't care, and they are lazy. The physical health of street children, which the researchers have observed, is that most of the street children experience skin irritation and thin bodies due to unhealthy eating patterns. Abstract

The enthusiasm for student learning is important in an effort to support students in their learning achievements both in academic and non-academic achievements. The failure of students is a concern for researchers to see the background which is a source of enthusiasm for learning for students. Based on the results of the researcher's research, the researcher saw many cases where students had low interest in learning because there was no enthusiasm for learning from within the students. This research will examine the inhibiting and supporting factors that become the enthusiasm for student learning at SMK Mandiri Medan. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. Where the researcher made direct observations and conducted interviews with several students as samples. Based on the results of the study, the researchers found several factors that supported students' enthusiasm for learning including high motivation, enthusiasm, a sense of accomplishment and a desire to develop. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors in the enthusiasm for learning in class XII students at SMK Mandiri Medan include a non-conducive learning environment, lack of support for students, excessive pressure and demands. By working as street children, some street children have closed, indifferent, and lazy social relationships. The physical health of street children that the researcher observed shows that most street children experience skin irritation and are thin due to unhealthy eating patterns.

Abstract

The spirit of learning for students is very important to support their academic and non-academic achievements. Student failures are a concern for researchers to see the background that is the source of learning spirit. Based on the research results, many cases make students lose interest in learning because there is no learning spirit from within the students themselves. This study will examine the factors that hinder and support student learning spirit at SMK Mandiri Medan. The method used in this research is qualitative method, with researchers conducting direct observations and interviews with several students as samples. The results of the study show that supporting factors for student learning spirit include high motivation, enthusiasm, sense of achievement, and desire for development. Meanwhile, the obstacles to student learning spirit in class XII of SMK Mandiri Medan include an uncondusive learning environment, lack of support for students, pressure, and excessive demands.
