This study aims to explore the gadget addiction among MAN 2 Deli Serdang students and the success rate of group counseling with self-control techniques in overcoming the addiction. This study used a quantitative approach with experimental research design and employed data collection tools of interviews, observations, and psychological scales of gadget addiction. A total of 59 students were involved, in which the research sample amounted to 18 people divided into two groups with each consisting of 9 students in the experimental group and control group. The sample selection was done through purposive sampling technique. Analysis of differences in gadget addiction scores before and after counseling sessions was calculated using the Wilcoxon test. The findings showed that the mean score of gadget addiction in MAN 2 Deli Serdang was 68, which placed it in the moderate category. This signifies that gadget addiction in this institution is at moderate level. Group counseling with self-control techniques is proven effective, which is evident from the results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test with a p-value of 0.008. With this p-value lower than 0.05, both in pretest and posttest, it shows that self-control technique has a positive impact in reducing gadget addiction in MAN 2 Deli Serdang.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan kunjungan rumah untuk menurunkan perilaku bolos pada siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode pre eksperimen dengan metode one shot case study dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 8 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi. Desain penelitian ini dengan diberikan treatment/ perlakuan, pada satu kelompok dan selanjutnya di observasi hasilnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran perilaku bolos sekolah siswa sebelum dilakukan perlakuan didapat sebanyak 8 siswa yang sering melakukan perilaku bolos sekolah seperti tidak masuk sekolah selama berhari-hari tanpa keterangan dan berada diluar kelas saat jam pembelajaran berlangsung. Kemudian setelah dilakukan kunjungan rumah tersisa 3 siswa yang bolos sekolah tanpa keterangan. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa kunjungan rumah efektif dalam mengurangi perilaku bolos sekolah siswa. Adapun faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku siswa bolos sekolah antara lain kondisi ekonomi, kurangnya perhatian orangtua karena sibuk bekerja dan siswa yang susah dinasehati. Faktor penghambat dari kunjungan rumah dalam penelitian ini adalah orangtua/wali siswa tidak berada di rumah dikarenakan sibuk bekerja dan alamat siswa tidak lengkap atau tidak sesuai.

Emotional violence targeting students is influenced not only by familial factors but also by the broader social milieu. This form of violence significantly impacts students, particularly affecting their attitudes, character, behavior, emotions, interests, and values. This study aims to explore the challenges faced by guidance and counseling educators in addressing emotional violence among students at Al-Ulum High School in Medan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research emphasizes descriptive analysis. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and document analysis. Participants included guidance and counseling educators as well as ten students who had experienced emotional violence. Findings reveal the hurdles encountered by educators in assisting students affected by emotional violence. While instances of emotional violence at Al-Ulum High School are relatively low in severity, appropriate guidance and counseling services tailored to these students are essential. Effective management of these services is crucial for addressing the needs of emotional violence victims at the school.

Tantrum behavior in preschool children is a problem that is often faced by teachers in the educational environment. Tantrums can affect teaching and learning activities and overall student welfare. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the implementation of counseling services for teachers in dealing with tantrums in preschool children. The purpose of this study is to assist teachers through consultation services in dealing with tantrum behavior in preschool children. The research design used in this study is "One-Shot Case Study. with one group given treatment, and then the results were observed. The data collection tools used by the researcher are observation, interviews and the psychological scale of tantrum behavior. The implementation of consultation services in this study carried out by consultants (researchers) to teachers in alleviating third-party problems (students) was successful, because there was a change in student behavior for the better or student tantrum behavior decreased.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of individual counseling with a person-centered approach to adolescents who have trauma due to romantic relationships, while the population studied of adolescents who have trauma due to romantic relationships who are not in a relationship from 10 samples that are given a scale of trauma due to romantic relationships as a pre-test are taken 5 samples with the highest scores. This study uses a quantitative method with a One-group Pretest-posttest Research Design. The method of the results of the study revealed that the reduction of trauma experienced by clients by 20.2% with the evidence of the results of the psychological scale provided so that individual counseling with a person-centered therapy approach can be declared effective in reducing trauma in adolescents due to romantic relationships.

The purpose of this research is to help career planning for ex-drug addicts with Holland's theory through individual counselling services. The method used in this research is quantitative with experimental type. This research design is One-Shot Case Study. This research design provides treatment to one group and then observes the results. The population in this study were people with drug addicts in sibolangit cantre rehabilitation totalling 20 people, a sample of 5 people in sibolangit rehabilitation. Sampling was carried out with a purposive sampling model. The results of this study are The implementation of individual counselling services carried out by drug addicts in sibolangit rehabilitation is very helpful for designing career planning for former drug addicts. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of individual counselling services with Holland's theory to help career planning for former drug addicts using the one shot case study method is less effective to see whether the client's career can be well planned or mature.

The large number of students who experience academic anxiety and the challenges they face in completing their final assignments are the impetus for conducting this research. Students who feel academic anxiety or also called academic anxiety due to lack of confidence in their abilities in carrying out academic activities, are generally motivated by several factors such as the desire to graduate on time, high parental expectations, and pressure from supervisors. The aim of this research is to reduce academic anxiety in final year students by using thought stopping strategies in group counseling. Purposive sampling is used in the pre-experimental design quantitative research methodology which has a one-group pre-test-post-test design pattern. Seven students with high levels of academic anxiety will be research participants. They will receive treatment in the form of group counseling using thought stopping techniques. Four sessions were held to conduct this research. T-Test statistical samples with SPSS For Windows Version 26.0 statistical software were used in the data analysis procedure. The findings of this study show the effectiveness of thought stopping strategies in group counseling to reduce academic anxiety. The acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is indicated by the results of the Paired Sample T-Test analysis which produces a significant probability value (2-tailed) < 0.05. It was found that after the final students underwent group counseling treatment using the thought stopping technique, there was a significant reduction in anxiety levels.

Stroke patients generally experience daily self-care disorders due to old age (elderly), so that motor skills are low. One factor affecting the ability to take care of oneself every day and be motivated to be independent is self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of self-efficacy-based education on the daily self-care of stroke patients at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital and its implications with counselling guidance. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design using the nonequivalent control group pre- post-test only design method. The population in this study were all ischemic stroke patients at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan and a sample of 36 people. Researchers provided educational interventions based on self-efficacy using visual media, discussions, motor skills training, and occupational exercises for three meetings per week with a duration of 30 minutes each session for six weeks. Data collection with primary and secondary data and analyzed by statistical test Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed an effect of self-efficacy-based education on the daily care of stroke patients at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan (p-value = 0.000 <0.05) such as motor function and improving their daily activities.

Individual counseling service activities are one of the guidance and counseling services practiced by teachers (counselors) in schools to help solve student problems (counselees). Therefore individual counseling services must be carried out properly and have a positive value. This study aims to determine the extent to which the implementation of individual counseling services for junior high schools in the city of Medan is viewed from several aspects of the implementation of individual counseling services provided by guidance and counseling teachers at schools. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey design. Data collection instruments are interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires. The subjects of this study were guidance and counseling teachers at junior high schools in the city of Medan. As for the results, it can be seen that the implementation of individual counseling services is a service that is often used by guidance and counseling teachers. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that junior high school guidance and counseling teachers in Medan City choose individual counseling services as a good service in alleviating student problems at school, with a success rate of solving student problems from 61% to 100%.

Consultation is part of school counselor services. As a professional, counselors also need ongoing and continuous consultation with other professionals in order to overcome frustration, improve skills, self-development, and advocacy. One of its forms is teleconsultation. Teleconsultation is an option in order to improve the education support system. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of teleconsultation carried out by school counselors to other professionals (senior counselors). The teleconsultation in question is a consultation using the chat feature on the Whatsapp application. Data were collected by interviewing 2 school counselors as participants and then analyzed using the Miles and Hubermann techniques. The results of this study indicate that the reasons for effectiveness, efficiency, and professional experience of consultants are the reasons counselors use teleconsultation. School counselors gain new understanding and feel satisfied after teleconsultation is carried out. Not only that, they also apply the results of teleconsultation with consultants. Teleconsultation answers their needs as school counselors and will continue to use teleconsultation in the future. Thus, the professional activities of school counselors increase with the existence of teleconsultation so that it can be used as an option to improve the educational support system.
