Abstract

Long serve is one of the basic techniques in badminton that plays an important role in building a game strategy, especially in singles. The ability to perform a consistent and accurate long serve can be a competitive advantage for an athlete. However, the quality of the serve is not only determined by technique, but also by physical factors. This study aims to determine the Correlational Study of arm muscle strength with long serve performance in badminton athletes. This type of research is descriptive using a correlational research method. The population of this study was 40 badminton club athletes from Kendari City. The sampling technique was based on purposive sampling, namely the criteria of male gender, age 15-17 years and being able to do long serves, so that the sample numbered 20 people. The research instruments were push-up tests and long serve ability tests. Based on the correlation test analysis, the relationship between the arm muscle power variable coefficient and the upper serve ability was obtained, where the calculated r value was 0.565 at a significance level of 0.008 <0.05 with a determination coefficient of 0.319 or 31.9%. This means that there is a significant relationship between arm muscle strength and long badminton service ability. The contribution of arm muscle strength to long service ability is 31.9% while 68.1% is influenced by other factors. The study concluded that arm muscle strength has a significant relationship with long service performance in badminton athletes.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memperkenalkan olahraga sepak takraw kepada siswa sekolah dasar serta menumbuhkan minat berolahraga sejak dini sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup sehat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui dua tahap, yaitu sosialisasi dan edukasi teknik dasar. Tahap sosialisasi berisi penjelasan mengenai pengenalan sepak takraw, aturan dasar, serta manfaatnya bagi kesehatan melalui media gambar, video, dan diskusi interaktif. Tahap edukasi melibatkan praktik langsung teknik dasar seperti menimang bola, servis dasar, dan passing sederhana yang dipandu oleh tim pelaksana. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya antusiasme tinggi dari peserta dan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai teknik dasar permainan sepak takraw. Guru olahraga juga memperoleh panduan sederhana agar kegiatan ini dapat dilanjutkan di sekolah. Secara keseluruhan, PKM ini berhasil menumbuhkan minat berolahraga sejak dini dan memperkenalkan olahraga tradisional kepada siswa dengan cara yang edukatif, menyenangkan, dan kontekstual.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi keselamatan air melalui sosialisasi teknik dasar renang kepada siswa SD Negeri 100 Kendari. Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasari oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan renang dan kesadaran siswa terhadap bahaya serta keselamatan di lingkungan perairan, padahal Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan yang dikelilingi banyak perairan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif dan praktis melalui pemberian materi tentang bahaya air, etika di sekitar kolam, teknik menyelamatkan diri, serta pelatihan gerakan dasar renang seperti pernapasan, meluncur, gerakan tangan dan kaki, dan cara mengapung. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara bertahap, mulai dari penyampaian teori, demonstrasi, praktik langsung di kolam dangkal, hingga evaluasi pemahaman siswa. Metode yang diterapkan menekankan partisipasi aktif dan simulasi langsung dengan media visual yang menarik bagi anak-anak. Guru dan pihak sekolah turut dilibatkan untuk mendampingi siswa serta menerima transfer pengetahuan agar kegiatan berkelanjutan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan dasar berenang dan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya keselamatan air. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam membentuk budaya peduli keselamatan sejak usia dini dan berpotensi menjadi model pembinaan keselamatan air di sekolah dasar lainnya di wilayah Kendari.

Abstract

Background Problems: Lack of variety in aerobic exercise can cause boredom and reduce motivation to increase VO2max. Research Objectives: This study aims to assess how much influence aerobic exercise has on increasing VO2max in amateur football athletes. This involves regularly monitoring and measuring changes in VO2max levels over time. Methods: This research used a pre-experimental method; the design used was a one-group pretest and posttest design. The study used total sampling to select a population and sample of 30 amateur athletes. The instrument used was the 15-minute balke test to determine the athlete's VO2max capacity. The method used aerobic training with a 400-metre run. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical tests, and prerequisite tests were normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the t-test with the SPSS version 26 program. Findings and Results: The analysis of the data reveals a notable improvement in VO2max following aerobic exercise. The average VO2max value increased from 55.38 during the pretest to 70.70 in the posttest phase. This increase was substantiated by the t-test results, where the calculated t-value was 10.36. Consequently, this indicates a significant enhancement in VO2max post-exercise. Conclusion: Aerobic exercise has a crucial role in increasing VO2max in amateur football athletes. Good cardiorespiratory conditioning can help improve their endurance, performance, and recovery during training and competition.
