Abstract

Cangkringsari Village is located in Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency. This village has a population of 1729 people so it produces ± 517.8 kg / day of waste. Waste management especially RW 3 is carried out by the Cangkringsari Berseri waste bank. Cangkringsari Berseri garbage bank is able to serve 66 households out of 125 households. Until now, administrative management is still done manually so that administration runs slowly. In addition, the lack of understanding of the management technology of waste bank administration causes waste management in Cangkringsari Village RW 3 to be less than optimal. To overcome these problems, the method used in this service program is to conduct socialization and training on web-based and mobile waste bank applications. Based on the results of the questionnaire showed an increase of 74% of citizens' understanding of waste bank management technology.

Abstract

Waste has become a global problem. In Indonesia, the waste is transported to landfills (TPA) only 60-70%. Population growth causes an increase in the volume of waste due to increased consumption of the community. Waste if left will threaten the environment such as threats to climate change, air and water and soil pollution, loss of biodiversity, loss of resources and materials. Therefore, waste management is very important. Community involvement has become a key in handling waste. Reducing waste generation from homes with the 3R system and garbage has been considered to reduce waste and overcome the overflow of waste generation in the landfill. The Community Service Program in Ketegan Village, Tanggulangin Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency has been carried out to overcome the problem of garbage in the environment. Based on the situation analysis the steps used in overcoming the problem are in the form of training and ongoing assistance to the people of Ketegan Village. The method used is the delivery of material, demonstration of activities and discussion. The results show that Community Service activities can improve the understanding, attitudes and behavior of the Ketegan Village community towards waste management.

Abstract

Tulangan Village is one of the villages located in Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. The total population in Tulangan Village is 4818 people. So it is estimated that the average population of Tulangan Village produces more than 1,445.4 kg of waste / day. Currently, the TPST of Tulangan Village serves waste management for all residents of Tulangan Village. Until now, organic waste processing at TPST is carried out by composting. Meanwhile, leachate processing is only carried out by simple storage. To overcome this problem, the activities carried out are training in organic waste and leachate processing. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it was found that seven residents understood organic waste processing and seven people understood leachate processing.

Abstract

Limited land and high land prices are obstacles experienced by the development of settlements and schools. However, school institutions have a responsibility in shaping the character of caring for the environment in students. Therefore, hydroponic and composting training was conducted at the high school level with the aim that students gain knowledge and experience in farming using hydroponic methods and composting using waste in schools. The training method carried out includes 3 stages. The first stage is preparation with teachers to conduct training with students. Furthermore, at the implementation stage, hydroponic and composting training was carried out with high school schools in Lamongan regency. The last stage is an evaluation of activities with the school. The results of the training showed that 45% of participants were interested in hydroponic training and 65% were interested in composting training, 57% of participants were motivated in the application of hydroponics and composting in their respective schools. In addition, as many as 55% have a desire to learn more about the training that has been carried out. And 60% of the participants have the desire to pursue hydroponic and composting business.

Abstract

Catfish is one type of freshwater fish that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Candipari Village isone of the villages, where the people cultivate catfish. So far, catfish is only used as a daily sidedish, but community service activities in Candipari Village, especially catfish farmers, aretaught to process catfish into new healthy preparations. The method used in this activity isdemonstration. The purpose of this activity is to improve community skills in processing catfishinto various processed foods such as shredded, brownies, and pastries. The result of this activityis that the community is skilled at making shredded, brownies, and pastries from catfish.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid -19 yang telah dihadapi oleh masyarakat global , khususnya Indonesia , telah mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia. Pembatasan mobilitas masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk mengendalikan penyebaran Covid-19 berdampak buruk terhadap perekonomian nasional. Dalam upaya mengurangi penyebaran dan dampak Covid-19 kepada masyarakat, tim PkM Fakultas Teknik Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo terjun langsung ke masyarakat untuk membantu program penanganan Covid-19 di Desa Rangkah Kidul , Sidoarjo. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pembagian masker gratis, edukasi masyarakat lewat pemasangan berbagai poster, kegiatan vaksinasi dan pembagian BLT dan sembako kepada warga terdampak. Kegiatan ini sebagai wujud kontribusi nyata civitas akademik Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo kepada masyarakat sekitar.

Abstract

Kerupuk ikan merupakan salah satu jenis olahan pangan yang berbahan dasar ikan dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi. Pengolahan hasil tangkapan laut menjadi kerupuk ikan menjadi alternatif pilihan masyarakat pesisir di Desa Kedungpandan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan. Salah satu ikan yang melimpah adalah ikan payus yang dapat dijadikan olahan kerupuk ikan. Kerupuk ikan payus mempunyai rasa yang enak dan gurih, bisa dijadikan camilan maupun teman makan nasi. Selain itu, kandungan gizi dari kerupuk ikan payus sangat bermanfaat untuk tubuh. Adapun tujuan dari program ini untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga nelayan dan mengubah cara berpikir masyarakat dalam mengolah ikan. Hal ini sebagai upaya untuk mengoptimalkan hasil tangkapan para nelayan di Desa Kedungpandan. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan dilakukan dengan cara FGD (Focus Group Discussion), yaitu pemateri memaparkan tahap-tahap pengolahan ikan menjadi kerupuk ikan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung membuat kerupuk ikan. Saat praktik berlangsung, peserta dapat melakukan interaksi langsung dengan pemateri. Luaran dari program ini adalah terbentuknya keluarga nelayan yang mampu membuat dan memproduksi kerupuk ikan secara mandiri sehingga mampu menghasilkan produk dengan nilai ekonomi tinggi yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga nelayan.

Abstract

Household waste is a type of waste that contributes to environmental pollution. Waste can cause a nuisance if it is not handled seriously. Sixty-eight percent of the waste in the school environment consists of organic waste, which is a type of waste that can be decomposed by bacteria. Composting is one of the right methods for dealing with wasterelated problems. Takakura is a composting method that can be implemented by the general public because the method is simple and easy to apply. The method used is an interactive counseling method and demonstration via video in introducing Takakura compost making. The results obtained from this activity were that participants were enthusiastic and happy to take part in this activity because they gained additional knowledge in managing household organic waste, which can produce compost as a final product, and can be sold to provide additional family income.

Abstract

Mayoritas industri kerupuk skala kecil di Sidoarjo menghasilkan limbah cair dengan kadar BOD dan COD tinggi yang berpotensi mencemari perairan. Teknologi fitoremediasi dengan eceng gondok dan kayu apu diperlukan untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan eceng gondok dan kayu apu untuk menurunkan kadar BOD dan COD dalam air limbah industri kerupuk, serta pengaruh waktu detensi. Metode fitoremediasi digunakan dengan menyesuaikan jumlah tanaman di tiga reaktor batch: reaktor 1 dengan 10 batang kayu apu, reaktor 2 dengan 10 batang eceng gondok, dan reaktor 3 dengan masing-masing 5 batang kayu apu dan eceng gondok. Efisiensi terbaik tercapai dengan kayu apu, dengan penurunan BOD 98% dan COD 97% di reaktor 1. Most small-scale cracker industries in Sidoarjo produce liquid waste with high BOD and COD levels, which have the potential to pollute water. Phytoremediation technology with water hyacinth and apu wood is needed to overcome this problem. This research aims to determine the role of water hyacinth and apu wood in reducing BOD and COD levels in cracker industry wastewater and the effect of detention time. The phytoremediation method was used by adjusting the number of plants in three batch reactors: reactor 1 with 10 apu wood stems, reactor 2 with 10 water hyacinth stems, and reactor 3 with 5 each apu wood and water hyacinth stems. The best efficiency was achieved with apu wood, with a reduction in BOD of 98% and COD of 97% in reactor 1.

Abstract

Industri logam merupakan salah satu industri dengan jenis material yang sangat banyak ditemui disekitar kita. Keberadaan industri logam berpotensi mencemari lingkungan, jika dibuang ke lingkungan tanpa diolah terlebih dahulu dikarenakan sulitnya limbah logam terdegradasi dan tidak bisa diuraikan oleh proses biologi. Oleh karena itu, air limbah harus memenuhi tingkat kualitas tertentu agar dapat dibuang ke badan air. Upaya pencegahan pencemaran air dapat dilakukan melalui instalasi pengolahan air limbah dengan metode Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas influent dan effluent pada air limbah dan efisiensi penurunan parameter TSS dan logam berat. Metode yang telah digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan objek penelitian 2 industri. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, pengamatan, pengambilan sampel, dan pengujian parameter TSS menggunakan metode gravimetri, parameter logam berat menggunakan instrumen SSA. Parameter yang telah diamati adalah TSS dan Logam berat Ag, Cu, Pb dan Zn. Hasil uji telah menunjukkan nilai influent Pb dan TSS air inffluen untuk kedua industri masih diatas baku mutu yang menurut Permen LH No.5 Tahun 2014, hasil effluent yang telah memenuhi baku mutu adalah adalah logam berat Ag, Cu, dan Zn. Efisiensi penyisihan terbesar terdapat pada industri PT. Y yaitu pada logam Cu yang mencapai 98%.
