Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has been recognized for its potential to enhance various skills, including creativity, among learners. However, its impact on early childhood creativity, particularly within specific cultural contexts, remains underexplored. The aim of this research is to evaluate how culturally relevant PjBL activities, incorporating Indonesian traditions, can enhance creativity in early childhood learners at the Indonesian Consulate General (Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia/KJRI) Penang. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection. The study involved designing and implementing PjBL activities based on Indonesian traditions over three months. Creativity was assessed using the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) before and after the intervention. Additionally, qualitative data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents. The quantitative analysis of TTCT scores indicated a significant improvement in various aspects of creativity, including fluency, originality, and elaboration, among the children who participated in the culturally enriched PjBL activities. Qualitative data supported these findings, revealing high levels of engagement, creativity, and enthusiasm among the children. Teachers and parents also observed noticeable improvements in the children’s creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. The integration of Indonesian traditions into PjBL activities effectively enhances creativity in early childhood learners. The findings suggest that culturally relevant educational approaches can significantly contribute to the creative development of young children. This study provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers on the implementation of culturally tailored PjBL to foster creativity in diverse educational.

Abstract

Plastic is a man-made synthetic polymer that has stable and durable characteristics The process of decomposing plastic takes a long time and the use of plastic which is increasing every year results in the accumulation of plastic waste in the environment, causing environmental pollution. Biodegradation is one solution to reduce the amount of plastic with the help of microorganisms or bacteria. This study has an objective to analyze the OD value; TPC; and the percentage value of plastic waste weight loss from each Indigenous bittern bacterial isolate in degrading plastic waste on YEB media + 1% glucose. The research procedure includes sterilization of tools and materials until data analysis. Data on TPC and OD values during the degradation process were analyzed descriptively and the percentage value of plastic dry weight after 7 days of incubation time was analyzed statistically. The highest OD value was 1,613 (BB1), the highest TPC value was 13,93 Log CFU/ml (BB4), and the highest plastic dry weight percentage value was 25%+0b (BB4). This research provides new insights into the potential of Indigenous bittern bacteria as plastic waste biodegradation agents and enriches knowledge in the field of environmental biotechnology. This research can be used as a basis for the waste management industry and government to design more sustainable policies in waste management to reduce dependence on conventional methods that are expensive and less effective

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The partner educational institution, namely the Ponorogo Early Education Center (Pocenter), has not yet implemented sensory stimulation in children because educators do not yet understand more deeply how Montessori sensorial training activities work. So far the teachers only provide normal sensorial activities and do not use Montessori sensorial training. Through this training activity, it is hoped that educators at Pocenter and students as prospective educators can implement it when they graduate. This activity is the result of collaboration between four PG-PAUD study programs at Muhammadiyah universities. The activity was carried out online with six virtual meetings and involved speakers from the University of Malaysia Sarawak. The results of the pretest and posttest can be concluded that this workshop influenced the mindset of workshop participants for center teachers and prospective PAUD teacher students positively and significantly. This can be seen in the α value being smaller than 0.05, namely 0.00 and the t value being negative, read as positive because the pretest value is lower than the posttest value.
