Abstract

This research aims to determine the instructional needs of the Plant Morphology course. This qualitative descriptive study employed questionnaires and observation sheets to collect the data. The data were analyzed descriptively. The subjects of this study were 24 students majoring in biology in the Biology Science Program, enrolled in the third semester of 2022. According to the research findings, most students rely on online sources for their learning materials, with digital learning materials being the preferred choice for the Plant Morphology course. Students face difficulties in understanding the material and concepts in the Plant Morphology course, mainly because of the use of Latin in this course. The research shows that the teaching and learning activities are ineffective in terms of time because of the extensive material coverage. Several factors contribute to students' difficulties in learning plant morphology, such as the broad concepts, the learning media used, the students' intelligence, and a lack of interest and motivation. The overall teaching activities still rely on PowerPoint presentations. Students neglect reading the materials at home because there is no plant morphology course handbook. The study findings will serve as a reference for developing instructional materials in the Plant Morphology course that align with students' needs, motivating and supporting the achievement of learning objectives

Abstract

Professional teachers have personality competencies, pedagogical, social and professional competencies. One indicator of a professional teacher is if the prospective teacher masters the basic competencies (BC) of the subject being taught. Mastery of BC in the curriculum is very important, so that prospective teachers can plan learning by describing BC into indicators and learning objectives. The depth and breadth of the material available determines the teacher's ability to understand these competencies. Quantitative descriptive research using survey techniques (46 respondents) was conducted to analyze prospective teachers' perceptions of BC which includes cognitive competence and skills competence. The research steps began with preparing a questionnaire in Google Forms (50 Questions) which had been validated by science education experts. Questionnaires were distributed to prospective teachers. Data was analyzed using percentages. The research results showed that prospective madrasa teachers stated that BC skills were more difficult to understand and teach than cognitive BC. The most difficult BC to understand and teach to students in class IV is material about life cycles. In class V, the most difficult are single substances and mixtures. The most challenging material for prospective teachers to understand and teach in class VI is electricity.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis tumbuhan liar berpotensi obat, nilai manfaat (UVis) dan status konservasi tumbuhan liar berpotensi sebagai obat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Keanekaragaman tumbuhan liar di kecamatan Masalle terdiri dari 12 Famili yang terbagi dalam 16 Spesies. Famili terbanyak terdapat pada kelompok Astraceae. Bagian tumbuhan yang banyak digunakan sebagai obat adalah bagian daunnya sebanyak 94%, cara penyiapannya 75% direbus kemudian diminum. Nilai uvis tertinggi terdapat pada spesies Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. ex Nees (sambiloto) dengan nilai Uvis 0,10. Sementara itu status konservasi tumbuhan liar berpotensi obat bervariasi NE (Not eval_uated), LC (Least Concern). NE (Not eval_uated) adalah kategori spesies yang belum di eval_uasi status kepunahannya dan dianggap masih banyak di belahan dunia sebanyak 44% misalnya pada tumbuhan Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr, Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis, Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. ex Nees, Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M.King & H.Rob, Strobilanthes crispa (L.) Blume. Sementara itu, status konservasi LC (Least Concern) adalah kategori spesies yang telah dieval_uasi dan masuk kategori kekhawatiran rendah sebanyak 56% misalnya terdapat pada tumbuhan Portulaca oleracea L, Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn., Ageratum conyzoides L., Ficus septica Burm.f., Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.

Abstract

Pendidikan dan teknologi merupakan dua elemen penting yang saling mendukung dalam mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran, khususnya melalui integrasi Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). Integrasi ini memungkinkan guru untuk menggabungkan teknologi, konten, dan pedagogi secara efektif dalam pembelajaran. Namun, banyak guru yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam menerapkan konsep ini, terutama dalam pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, pelatihan ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang TPACK dan meningkatkan kreativitas dalam merancang pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dengan metode gamifikasi. Kegiatan ini menggabungkan pendekatan teoritis dan praktis melalui workshop interaktif yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan para guru. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan 71% merasa sangat terbantu dalam pengembangan kompetensi TPACK, dan 76% mengalami peningkatan keterampilan dalam penerapan gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran. Pelatihan ini telah berhasil memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam memperkuat kompetensi guru IPA, khususnya dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi, pedagogi, dan konten secara sinergis. Melalui kegiatan ini, guru tidak hanya memahami konsep TPACK secara teoritis, tetapi juga mampu menerapkannya secara praktis melalui media gamifikasi yang aplikatif. Dampak positif dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa model pengembangan keterampilan berbasis teknologi ini layak dijadikan rujukan dalam program peningkatan kualitas guru di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Advancements in educational technology demand the use of electronic learning media that still prioritize local potential. The aim of this research is to determine the steps for developing, validity and practicality of an ethnoscience-based e-module on the biodiversity of medicinal plants of the Bugis tribe. This research is development research (R&D) adopting the ADDIE development model. Data analysis techniques consist of quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research and development results, the validity percentage of the e-module was obtained: 85.27% by material validator I, 94.74% by material validator II, 84% by media validator I, 90% by media validator II, and 86.67% by the language validator, categorized as 'Highly Valid.' The practicality test of the e-module, obtained from teacher responses, was 86.25% and from student responses, 90.62%. The developed product is categorized as Practical and suitable for use.ABSTRAK: Kemajuan di bidang teknologi pendidikan menuntut digunakannya media pembelajaran elektronik yang tidak meninggalkan potensi lokal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui langkah pengembangan, kevalidan, dan kepraktisan e-modul berbasis etnosains pada materi keanekaragaman hayati tumbuhan obat suku Bugis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) dengan mengadopsi model pengembangan ADDIE. Teknik analisis data terdiri atas analisis deksriptif kuantitatif dan analisis deksriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengembangan diperoleh data persentase kevalidan e-modul yaitu sebesar 85,27% oleh validator materi I, 94,74% oleh validator materi II, 84% oleh validator media I, 90% oleh validator media II, dan 86,67% oleh validator Bahasa, dengan katagori “Sangat Valid”. Untuk uji kepraktisan e-modul diperoleh dari respon guru sebesar 86,25% dan  respon siswa sebesar 90,62%. Kategori produk pengembangan Praktis  dan layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the attitudes, self-efficacy, and high-order thinking skills (HOTS) of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Parepare in science subjects in the even semester, as well as to analyze the extent of the relationship between these variables. This study is quantitative research with a correlational approach. Data were obtained through attitude and self-efficacy questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, as well as science learning achievement tests taken from students' final exam results, which had been categorized according to HOTS indicators. The research sample consisted of 115 students. Data analysis includes validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests (normality, linearity, and heteroscedasticity), as well as simple Pearson correlation tests and multiple correlation tests. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the majority of students' attitudes are in the moderate category (66.96%), the majority of students' self-efficacy is also in the moderate category (67.83%), while the majority of students' high-order thinking skills are in the low category, with the analysis aspect being in the high category (40.9%), the evaluation aspect being in the very low category (40%) and the creation aspect being in the very low category (51.3%). The results of the correlation test show that there is a negative and significant correlation between attitudes and high-order thinking skills (r = -0.463; p < 0.05) with a moderate level of relationship, there is a positive and significant correlation between self-efficacy and high-order thinking skills (r = 0.309; p < 0.05) with a low level of relationship, and attitudes and self-efficacy simultaneously have a very high correlation with high-order thinking skills (r2 = 0.848; p < 0.05).

Abstract

Exploration of Physics Principles in Bola Rai' Design Based on Local Knowledge. This study aims to explore the application of physics principles in the design of Bola Rai’, a floating house constructed based on local knowledge of the community around Lake Tempe. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation techniques in Dusun Salomate, Limpomajang Village, Soppeng Regency. Primary data from interviews and observations were supplemented with secondary sources from literature. The analysis reveals that the design of Bola Rai’ applies physics principles such as Archimedes' principle, hydrostatic pressure, weight, and pressure within the raft structure. Additional physics concepts are applied to the house’s pillars, including weight, Newton's laws, and pressure. The walls demonstrate principles of aerodynamics, heat transfer, thermal conductivity, and Pascal’s law, while the roof structure incorporates principles of pressure, weight, and thermal conductivity. The study concludes that physics principles have been effectively integrated into the design of Bola Rai’ through the adaptation of local knowledge, suggesting its potential as a source for contextual physics learning.
