Abstract

Reflecting a paradigm shift in the way people look for work as well as a profound transformation in global economic change, the Gig Economy has become a highly sought after labor market. The gig economy is a job market that relies heavily on the role of independent contractors or contract workers and freelancers to fill temporary and part-time positions. Behind the advantages of the Gig Economy phenomenon, significant challenges are often hidden, especially in terms of legal protection. Therefore, the author conducted studies and research on how Labor Law in Indonesia protects workers in the Gig Economy Era. The writing method that the author uses is qualitative with literature study. Based on the results obtained from the literature, the author can conclude that currently, there is no law in Indonesia that specifically regulates worker protection in the gig economy sector, nor has there been any significant regulatory development related to partnership relations in Indonesia. In fact, the growth of gig economy workers in Indonesia is quite rapid. Gig workers may be protected by the Employment Law, which regulates employment relations between workers and employers. Although gig workers are considered partners, they have rights as employees.

Abstract

Abstract: This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of students at SMA Negeri 03 Bengkulu Utara in utilizing information technology for online business. Before the training, a pretest was conducted to measure the participants' initial knowledge, which showed that most participants had a low basic understanding before the training, with only 30% of participants successfully answering with a score of more than 60% of the total questions correctly. However, after the implementation of the training program, the posttest results showed a significant increase, where the average score of participants increased to 57% successfully answering with a score above 70% and 43% of participants successfully answering with a score of more than 80%. Feedback from participants showed that they felt more confident in applying this new knowledge in their business practices. Thus, this program provides direct benefits to students and contributes to the development of skills that are relevant to market needs in the digital era. It is hoped that similar activities can be continued in the future with more in-depth and diverse materials, as well as post-training mentoring support. Through a systematic and participatory approach, this program is expected to continue to support the development of student competencies in the fields of information technology and entrepreneurship, as well as provide a positive impact on society as a whole. Keyword: Information Technology, Online Business, Digital Products. Abstract

Abstract

Background: Alpha-tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E) and metformin hydrochloride have been tested as anti-aging compounds at various concentrations. This study aimed to identify the most effective concentrations of alpha-tocopheryl acetate and metformin hydrochloride in promoting the viability of human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs), a primary cell type in skin aging research. Methods: HDFs were isolated using a mechanical isolation method and cultured under standard conditions. Cells were treated with varying concentrations of alpha-tocopheryl acetate and metformin hydrochloride as independents agents. After 48 hours of incubation, cell viability was measured using the MTT assay. Results: Alpha-tocopheryl acetate had the highest HDF cell viability (107%) at a concentration of 50 μM. Metformin hydrochloride had the maximum HDF cell viability (158%) at 5 μM. However, the viability response varied across different concentrations for both agents, indicating that optimal dosing was essential for maximizing their effectiveness. Conclusions: Alpha-tocopheryl acetate at 50 μM and metformin hydrochloride at 50 μM yield the highest viability of HDFs in vitro. These findings suggest potential roles for both agents in anti-aging skin therapies. Further research is recommended to explore their mechanisms of action and to optimize dosing strategies for clinical applications.

Abstract

Credit agreements as principal agreements are often followed by additional agreements such as collateral, which are interrelated in their implementation. This study aims to analyze the legal relationship between the principal agreement (credit agreement) and additional agreement (collateral) and the legality of collateral retention by creditors in the case of Supreme Court Decision No. 1733 K/Pdt/2014. The background of this study is based on a dispute between debtors and creditors regarding default, debt collection that is not in accordance with the agreement, and retention of collateral certificates without a clear legal basis. The research method used is a normative legal approach with an analysis of legal documents and court decisions. The results of the study indicate that credit agreements as principal agreements have direct implications for the validity of additional agreements, especially in terms of collateral execution. The Supreme Court ruled that the creditor's action of withholding collateral without a legal basis violated the principles of contract law, so that some of the debtor's demands were granted. In conclusion, this case emphasizes the importance of transparency and balance of rights and obligations in credit agreements to ensure legal certainty for the parties.
