Abstract

This study examines the low learning outcomes in Islamic Education (PAI) among 11th-grade Science 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Cidahu, caused by conventional, non-interactive teaching methods that reduce motivation and engagement. Many students fail to meet the Minimum Competency Standards (KKM) due to passive learning. To address this, the research evaluates the effectiveness of the Group Investigation (GI) cooperative learning model in improving student participation and understanding, particularly on the topic "Spirit of Worship by Believing in the Day of Judgment." Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles with 36 students, data was collected through observations, tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and statistically. Results show that GI significantly boosts active participation and comprehension, with a marked increase in students achieving KKM. The study concludes that GI is an effective alternative for enhancing PAI learning quality, promoting engagement, and improving outcomes at the secondary level.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of guidance and counseling (GC) programs in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools) and their effects on students’ academic and behavioral outcomes. Conducted at MI Undruss Binangun using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews with counselors, teachers, and students. The results show that GC programs contributed positively to student development—78% of students experienced a 15–20% improvement in academic grades, and 72% reported enhanced emotional regulation and conflict resolution skills. However, challenges such as limited time allocation, lack of parental awareness, and inadequate facilities hinder optimal implementation. Anchored in Bandura’s social learning theory, the study highlights the importance of structured guidance in shaping student behavior and achievement. To strengthen GC effectiveness, the study recommends integrating GC into the school curriculum, enhancing counselor training, and upgrading facilities. Future research should investigate digital-based GC models to broaden reach and accessibility. These findings support the advancement of holistic education in Islamic elementary schools and provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers aiming to improve student well-being and academic success.

Abstract

This study addresses the crucial relationship between Arabic language acquisition and Qur'an memorization in Islamic educational settings. The research aims to quantitatively measure the influence of Arabic language learning on Qur'an memorization ability among eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Ma'arij Bojonggenteng Sukabumi. Using a descriptive-correlational quantitative approach with total sampling of 28 students, data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using statistical methods. The results demonstrate significant positive correlations, with 100% of students showing Arabic material comprehension, 100% achieving fluent Arabic vocabulary pronunciation, and 92.85% mastering proper Arabic intonation. The study concludes that Arabic language proficiency substantially enhances Qur'an memorization capabilities through improved semantic understanding and phonetic accuracy. These findings imply the necessity of developing integrated curricula that combine linguistic and spiritual approaches in Islamic education, suggesting that Arabic language instruction should be systematically aligned with Qur'anic studies to optimize memorization outcomes. The research contributes to the development of more effective pedagogical models in religious education that leverage linguistic competence for enhanced spiritual learning.
