Abstract

This article discusses efforts to develop the character of tolerance among elementary school students through two approaches: the "Work of Tolerance" program and the game "What Do I Do?" This research was conducted at SDN Jatisari Semarang involving students as participants. The research method uses a qualitative approach, namely an approach carried out by emphasizing the analysis on the inductive inference process. The “Work of Tolerance” program and the “What Do I Do?” designed to teach students about the importance of tolerance, empathy, and respect for differences. Students interact with situations that require understanding and tolerant responses. The research results show that these two approaches are effective in increasing students' understanding of tolerance and reducing prejudiced attitudes. There was an increase in students' understanding, from initially only 71.42% to 98.14% of students who understood, an increase of 26.72%. This article provides recommendations for schools and educators to integrate games and similar programs in the character curriculum to strengthen the values of tolerance among the younger generation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Pendidikan Pancasila pada siswa kelas 3 atas kurangnya pemahaman tentang materi Aturan Sekolah. Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran visualisasi konkrit berupa “Kantong Aturan” di kembangkan untuk mengatasi permaslaahan teserbut. Metode penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Kolaborasi yaitu metode yang melibatkan guru dan peneliti saat pengajaran berlangsung dalam kelas. Guru akan memantau praktik mengajar peneliti dan menghasilkan data yang diperlukan. “Kantong Aturan” digunakan secara lebih baik untuk menjawab persoalan tentang kurangnya pemahaman siswa dalam materi Aturan Sekolah. Pada siklus I menghasilkan data nilai siswa 36% kategori sangat baik, 28% kategori baik, 20% kategori cukup baik, dan 16% kategori kurang baik. Terdapat 9 siswa yang belum tuntas KKTP. Kemudian pada siklus II digunakan media pembelajaran “Kantong Aturan” dan nilai yang diperoleh siswa adalah 66,66% dengan kategori sangat baik dan 33,33 % pada kategori baik dan tidak ada siswa yang mendapatkan nilai dibawah KKTP. Terjadi peningkatan dari 9 orang anak belum tuntas KKTP menjadi tidak terdapat siswa yang tidak tuntas KKTP. Media pembelajaran memiliki peranan yang cukup penting dalam pembelajaran untuk memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi Aturan Sekolah, tidak hanya mengandalkan metode ceramah yang membosankan namun terdapat kegiatan yang meningkatkan motivasi, peran aktif siswa, dan lebih menyenangkan untuk siswa. Siswa akan mendapatkan pengalaman baru dan pembelajaran baru menggunakan “Kantong Aturan”. Artikel ini akan memberikan pembelajaran bagi peneliti dan pembaca untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif untuk menunjang pembelajaran yang akan dilaksanakan untuk membantu peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The real implementation in primary school learning activities has many kinds of learning models used by teachers, especially in improving foreign language learning (English) at school. The learning model that is often used to improve knowledge about English is the bilingual learning model. This study aims to analyze and identify bilingual learning models applied in primary school student learning in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a literature study with the type of research which is descriptive qualitative research. The researcher uses the literature study method to collect data on sources related to the research topic to be used. Then, the data that has been collected is then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis method.The results showed that an effective bilingual learning model to be implemented in elementary schools is a model that not only supports the achievement of cognitive learning outcomes, but is also able to develop students' English and Indonesian language skills in a balanced manner. Inside-Outside Circle model, preview-review based on realia media, integrated skills learning, contextual learning assisted by visual media, and Talking Chips model are proven to increase students' active participation, speaking skills, and comprehension in two languages. Therefore, it is important for educational practitioners to choose an appropriate, integrated, and contextualized bilingual learning model in order to provide maximum impact in the learning process of students in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of concrete learning media, such as wall clocks, on the activeness and learning outcomes of grade II students at SD Negeri Wates 02. Media is one of the important components in the learning process, so this study aims to determine the effect of the use of concrete learning media, such as wall clocks, on the activity and learning outcomes of grade II students at SD Negeri Wates 02. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a sampling technique, namely the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation which were then analyzed and interpreted. The results of observations and interviews showed that the use of these media was able to increase student activity, which was reflected in their involvement in observing, answering, and communicating. The implementation of this learning media is also directly proportional to the increase in student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the increase in daily test scores. These findings support the theory that concrete media has an effect on increasing student activity and learning outcomes at the elementary level, especially for materials that require visual understanding and direct experience.
