Abstract

Historically, Bangladesh has been host to numerous religious minorities, such as Buddhists, Hindus, Sheiks, Animists, and Atheists. It made a significant contribution to the continuation of social, political, and religious concord among people of many religious views after the liberation war. In varied communities like Bangladesh, religious concord is especially dependent on religious cooperation. This study used a mixed-method approach to investigate the dynamics of religious cohabitation in Bangladesh, depending on Islamic texts, particularly the Quran and Hadith, to provide background. In this study, the concepts and ideals that facilitate peaceful coexistence among various religious groups in Bangladesh are examined through an analysis of pertinent passages and teachings. The study also evaluates Bangladesh's current state of minority groups’ social, political, and religious rights. The study’s conclusions add to the conversation on religious coexistence and provide useful advice for promoting interfaith harmony and understanding in Bangladesh and elsewhere. The outcome demonstrates that Islam places a strong emphasis on treating minorities and individuals of all religions with respect and decency. Bangladesh is a multicultural country that is suitable for coexisting peacefully with individuals of different backgrounds. Regardless of caste or religion, people here are kind and considerate of one another. At times conflicts are seen between Muslims and non-Muslims as people think most of them are personal and political provocations.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the optimization of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS) funds in improving human resource quality at the Asia Moslem Charity Foundation (YAM). The foundation focuses on managing ZIS funds to support various social programs, particularly in enhancing education and human resource capacity. Proper allocation of ZIS funds can significantly contribute to improving educational quality and the effectiveness of human resource development in the community. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework of this study is based on the principles of Islamic philanthropy and Shariah compliance, emphasizing the effective and transparent distribution of zakat funds for socio-economic development. Literature Review: Literature review findings highlight that previous studies have extensively discussed the role of zakat in poverty alleviation and economic empowerment but have not thoroughly explored its impact on human resource development within Islamic foundations. Methods: This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with foundation managers, teachers, and beneficiaries, as well as document analysis related to ZIS fund management at YAM. Additionally, an evaluation of human resource programs funded by ZIS was conducted to determine their contribution to education and workforce development. Results: The results indicate that ZIS funds at YAM have been effectively utilized to support various educational programs, such as scholarships for underprivileged students, procurement of educational facilities, and teacher training. In the field of human resource development, ZIS funds have also been used for community-based training, digital skills development, and da’i (Islamic preacher) training. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding transparency in fund management and the need for improved coordination between divisions. Implications: The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening financial accountability and strategic planning in ZIS fund distribution to enhance human resource quality. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its in-depth analysis of the integration between ZIS fund management and strategies to improve human resource capacity within Islamic foundations. This study also provides practical recommendations for ZIS fund managers to enhance the effectiveness of fund allocation, ensuring broader social welfare impacts.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the methods applied by Muslim families in dealing with the impact of technological advances on early childhood in the Industrial 4.0 era, especially in the Surakarta area. Theoretical framework: This research is based on the theory of the social impact of technology and childcare in the Muslim family environment, highlighting the importance of the role of the family in shaping behavior and fortifying children from the negative impacts of technology. Literature review: discusses the influence of technology on early childhood development, the role of parents in religious value-based parenting, and strategies that can be applied in dealing with technological developments in the digital era. Methods: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, through observation and interviews with 10 Muslim families in Surakarta. Results: This study shows that Muslim families apply various methods such as preventive measures, supervision of technology use, free children to play outside with peers, being selective in choosing appropriate applications for children, providing examples of good behavior in the use of technology, and limiting the time of use of technology for children. Implication: this research highlights the importance of the active role of the family in accompanying and directing children in using technology wisely to minimize its negative impacts. Novelty: this research lies in its specific focus on the practice of raising Muslim families in the Industrial 4.0 era in the local context of Surakarta, as well as on the identification of concrete methods applied by parents in dealing with digital challenges in early childhood.
